      The information provided isn't sufficient to develop a feeding regime i.e. level of production, body condition score, stage of lactation, psychological status, quality of feeds etc

    Is dry maize Stovers good for dairy cows; while dairymeal held
    constant

    • @aileengicharu
      @aileengicharu 2 года назад +1

      What is the %DM in the stovers?
      With them dry can a cow eat enough as required of its body weight ?
      Dairy meal is a concentrate to add on to already good basic nutrition. If you get that basic wrong as explained in this video of dry matter and dry matter intake, things will still be wrong .

    You say a heifer is inseminated once she reaches 350+ kilos. What if she exhibits no signs of heat?

    • @dairynetworks
      @dairynetworks  2 года назад

      At 350kgs that heifer has is sexually mature, meaning it has cycled couple of times so this isn't an issue at all.

      Is 20kgs of salige enough per day if not how much kilos of hay and concentrates is given per day.

    What happens if ur cow takes too much of the dry matter than she is supposed to take in a day

    • @dairynetworks
      @dairynetworks  Год назад +1

      Cows will never eat over and above the daily body requirements.

    So what mix should go in a cow trough... because you've not said to forget about hay because it has lower nutrients and not palatable

    • @dairynetworks
      @dairynetworks  2 года назад +1

      Mix is dependant on available fodder. For our farm fodder is maize silage provided 24/7 and dairy meal after milking mixed with supa phos kiwination.

    This is without a doubt one of the most confusing videos I've ever watched.
    From the comments its probably highly informative but I know exactly what I knew (nothing) about dry matter plus a new question.
    Can a cow actually eat 100kg of something in a day? I have absolutely no idea how I could gather 100kg of anything worth 20 ltr of milk.

    • @dairynetworks
      @dairynetworks  Год назад

      Yes a cow can eat 100kgs of any fodder with moisture content more than 80%. For instance grazing cows on lush grass without any supplementation comfortably eat more than 100kgs of grass.
