      Thanks Simon, and well put. I agree it’s the best scenery, I was enchanted. The wildness is staggering, exceeded my expectations. We were pretty lucky with the weather for the most part. All the best! Sue 🤗

    WATCH OUT for those TICKS, DAVE! Thanks for the Aagh - drenching memories of river crossings & sore feet. The CWT was the gnarliest feat I’ve ever undertaken, but it was THE BEST. 💪🦶

      Hey! You're a fellow Cape Wrath Trail completist 😃 Congratulatons! I agree, it's the most awesome hike in the UK and probably up there amongst the rest of the world too. There were certainly plenty of overseas hikers amongst us. We met a French girl who was obsessively hiking all of the different variations she had missed on her first time. I'm currently editing part 3, and a bit obsessed myself, it gets under your skin, doesn't it? Did you end up thinking you were still on the trail when you got back home in your own bed? 😂🤗

    The scenery just carries you along the way . I really cant wait to do the cape wrath trail again but take it much slower next time.

      Thanks Tracey 😊 we said exactly the same thing! It’s so special, if the weather holds good it’s just sensational. I can understand how people become so hooked on it. Hope you have a great trip when you go back 😁 Sue

    I think the Cape Wrath might be a bit much for me now - but it's looks stunning, and well filmed. People are reporting a lot of ticks this year - I've never had one, Linda only ever had one - won't stop us being careful though.

    • @FIVE-FOOTLyth
      @FIVE-FOOTLyth  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks Roger! It was certainly tough, but so very beautiful, exceeding all my hopes. The ticks are a bit scary… we’re taking doxycycline for 3 weeks, which isn’t pleasant but better than Lyme I guess. All worth it though 😃

    Ciao Sue e Dave! Cari saluti Dal Lago di Garda 😁 You deffo got a good spell of weather for the CWT. Shame about the ticks and hope you're both disease free. A wee tip: spray your boots, tent entrance and trousers with permetharine next time 💪
    Back home next Weds and hope to hook up with you for the solstice.
    Ciao ciao 🤗

    What do they say Sue? 'It's where you put it.' Great to see you guys out on the trail. It's certainly a hardcore path - your brother in-law found that out early. I just hope his feet lasted. Already great scenery - gotta watch them ticks though. I look forward to the unfolding trail. Mark

      Hey Mark, really pleased you’re following us, I did think of you whilst editing this. Graham did last out but his feet looked a bit raw at one point… as for the ticks, we’re on antibiotics right now to combat Lyme Disease! Never seen so many of the blighters 😱 It’s a stunning, stunning hike, one of the best I’ve ever done. As gnarly as you can get 😉 Peace! Sue

      @@FIVE-FOOTLyth I look forward to this one Sue. Grahams feet sound like a big irritation - I imagine he was a trooper though. Ah, Lyme disease. I hope you guys aren't ill. Good to hear of the gnarly way.

      @@WyeExplorer all good thanks Mark, just a tick precaution! My friend caught Lyme after doing the CWT, didn’t get the antibiotic it time so just being cautious. It can be nasty.. all the best. Sue

    What an epic hike Sue! I've been told it's the toughest in Britain! I can sympathise with Dave, I'm like that losing everything and it drives me up the wall! At least the watch wasn't on his wrist! Oh god, the ticks are enough to put me off already. Which monument was that at Glenfinnan Sue? 🧐 blisters can certainly ruin one's enjoyment of a walk. Some beautiful rugged scenery as expected. You had some great weather! And the bothys looked decent! Great start to the trail!

      Thank Matt 😊 Looking at your adventures I wouldn’t blame you if there was a wry smile on your face when you see the rain in the UK 😉 but it’s a wonderful hike! The Glenfinnan monument commemorates the Jacobite rising when Charles Edward Stewart (‘Bonnie Prince Charlie’) raised his standard on the shores of Loch Shiel. Historic Scotland! 😃 I hope you’re having the time of your life out there. ATB - Sue
