  • Our very own emergency rescue helicopter will go on display for the first time this Sunday on LIVE Day: Emergency First Response, following an extensive reassembly and restoration project.
The Sikorsky S-76A , affectionately known as Juliet, flew life-saving rescue missions and hospital transfers for more than 20 years in Northland. The helicopter came into MOTAT’s collection last year and was given a new lease on life by the Aviation Workshop Team.
Here, project lead and volunteer Peter Kelly, a former aviation engineer with emergency services experience, shares the Sikorsky story and his joy at being able to help bring back its sparkle.
See Juliet now put back together with working lights and a refurbished cabin, complete with rescue stretcher, at the MOTAT Aviation Hall on Motions Road this Sunday 18 February!
