P5: "The world is corrupt, live as yourself."
P4: "The truth is what matters. Never stop persuing it."
P3: A C C E P T D E A T H
P2 duology: "World is fu**ed up and unfair, but you still need to stay positive."
@@losharikovedP1 S P I N K I C K
That's kind of an oversimplification, p3 is Moreso about doing what you can with the time you have because memento mori. And that's even MORE BRUTAL im loving p3 so far
P3 : "Remember you will die, So have fun."
P3: "Hey kids we're all gonna die" *Throws confetti*
If you play around 2 hours of Persona 5, you got like 2% of the game. Persona 5 is around 100 hours.
Indeed: it took me 110 hours to "finish" it. Yet despite long dialogues and psychological/philosophical stuff I didn't feel bored for a single second.
@@jeune-fouIt’s crazy because it basically took the same time for me and not only did i not feel bored, i actually felt the game should have more time to develop some of the arcs lol
Took me 87 hours 4 maxed social links and level 84 on merciless
even crazier is that I played p5 and p5r right after each other and did not feel bored even tho i already knew most of the story (except for the royal parts ofc)@@chillswany
took me 60 hours lol
You missed the Persona 3 Reload opening, the game that came out yesterday, that one is real good as well
He also missed Persona 5 Tactica's opening too alongside the openings from Persona 4 the Animation, Persona 4 Golden the Animation, and Persona 5 the Animation.
@@Jayesbe Tactica's opening is probably the worst opening Atlus has put out in years, though. No big loss.
@@HollowGolem I don't agree that it's the worst they've made in years, like for example I think Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 5 Dancing have worse openings than Tactica, although I'm specifically talking about the actual animation itself and I think Strikers has a better opening song than Tactica.
There's also a 4 part movie adaptation of persona 3 that may or may not still be accessible on youtube
@@Jayesbe Each of the anime's have two openings each, so you missed three.
And there's also the P3 movies and even Trinity Soul...
But yes, the reason he missed all that is cause he watched a compilation made in like 2022. And it has all the Persona GAME openings.
Just as the title says...
18:28 Persona 3 Portable introduced a Female Main Character with an altered storyline. Since this was released on the Playstation Portable, you could flip your screen and watch the opening from the Female MCs perspective, while watching it normally shows it from the Male MCs perspective!
That's awesome!
The reason you saw the quality dip in places was because those games were mainly re-releases for the PSP. You're just watching it on a larger screen than intended.
Fun fact: The Persona 5 Royal opening was animated by MAPPA, known for animes like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan Season 4
Wait fr
@@voidziezvr3202yup it says that at the credits
Also known for really bad treatment of employees
Still cool fact though
Other than the rain dancing scene its pretty disappointing compared to the animation in the original p5 opening
so that's why it sucked from an animation perspective
The shock over Teddie had me wheezing
You missed P5 Tactica and P3 Reload since the video you watched was old
The reason why the butterfly appears in every persona game is cause its in reference to the ending of the first persona game. I don’t wanna spoil it but its a beautiful reference.
:)
"inappropriate for children is crazy"
ya know, for persona its very, very accurate.
The reason P1 and P2 duology apear after P4 is cause they were remastered for psp
So for reference, the shortest Persona game is Persona 1 (20 hours). The longest one is Persona 5 (110 hours). Soooo yeah if you ever play, prepare to sell at least a month of your life to Atlus😂
If you ever want to play them I'd suggest starting from the VERY beginning. Persona 1 can he a bit of a slog but 2 is the best in the series and ties back to Persona 1 a lot whereas 3-5 sorta just do their own thing
Wow I had no clue the og persona was that short haha
@@shikitohno47 Well it can be longer but that's the normal play time. If I remember correctly Innocent Sin is roughly the same and Eternal Punishment is double that time (40 hours)
@@shikitohno47kinda sad they lost the SMT tag, but then again at this point Personas became their own thing after the first few games.
@@lopezroilans.8384 they never had the tag in japan and only gained it in the west from persona 3 (2006) and dropped the title for persona 4 golden (2012) and onwards. Persona 1 was released as Revelations: Persona and Persona 2 EP was just released as Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.
So an interesting thing about Persona is that even though the entries are standalone (in that you can jump into them at any order) they are still in the same universe and happen chronologically. Occasionally youll have references to past games and a character or 2 may appear (in some previous party members actually join you for a bit) but each is its own story. Typically, the enhanced editions ( 1Psp, 2ISPsp, 2EPPsp, 3Fes/3P/3Re, 4G, and 5R) are the ones that canon will follow. Also all the "spinoffs" are canon sequels to stories of whatever number they are attached to. The Q series is a bit different in that they a mid-quels that through shennigans cause different teams to meet during their inital stories, but all still happened (Im hoping that Q3 will bring in some P1 and P2 characters since Q1 was just P3/4 and Q2 was P3/4/5)
What's more likely is that Q3(if it will exist due to Q2's not great sales) will be P6, P5, P4, and P3
Wait which games do previous members join
@@Notabl3Persona 2, the characters from the first game join your party for a while, Like Nanjo, the group is mentioned in Persona 3, which is also one of the biggest causes of the misfortune with the Shadows.
@@ShanoaLoYukino from persona 1 also makes an appearance in Persona 3 as a TV guest
@@Notabl3 in p4g you visited the persona 3 school
I hope they do a full remake for p1 and 2
On a side note the bear suit is his body
He was able to will himself a human Form
If i explain anymore it would be spoiler
Yoinking this from the description of the video and adding notes to each release
1996 - Revelations: Persona - Essentially a spin off game from the Shin Megami Tensei series, no real established identity yet so you still see SMT themes.
1999 - Persona 2: Innocent Sin - Persona 2's base game and Eternal Punishment is the sequel to the story.
2000 - Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
2006 - Persona 3 - Modern Persona which still has SMT themes and vibes but starts the momentum on the day/night life balance.
2007 - Persona 3 FES - Remaster of Persona 3 with additional content, costumes, features and a new epilogue episode called The Answer
2008 - Persona 4
2009 - Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (remake); Persona 3 Portable -
Persona PSP remake was a welcomed one as it fixed a lot of localisation issues and cut content.
P3 Portable is available on Steam but plays heavily on the Visual Novel aspect of the series. Due to it being on the PSP, a lot of the daytime activities had been cut from 3D animations into a slideshow style akin to Visual Novels. You will also not see a lot of anime cutscenes that were removed due to hardware limitations. The night time dungeon exploration is still the same.
What's new is that P3P introduces an alt female main character, a first and only instance of it happening in the Persona series. Entire dialogues change with her as well as certain cutscenes, Social Links, and music even. Its pretty much an entirely new game with the FeMC, as lovingly named by the community.
2011 - Persona 2: Innocent Sin (remake); Persona 4 Arena
P4 Arena is a spin off fighting game, bringing a couple characters from P3 (canonically they are same universe just different time periods), as well as their own story and characters.
2012 - Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (remake); Persona 4 Golden
P4 Golden is similar to FES, a remaster with additional content, costumes and new game features.
2013 - Persona 4 Arena Ultimax
P4AU, practically a sequel to P4A but includes the entire P3 cast instead of just a few and a new story.
2014 - Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth
Non-canon spin off where P4 and P3 characters meet and interact. Its considered non-canon as characters are essentially pulled from their time into this new dimension. e.g P3 characters saying its 2009 but P4 claims its 2011, etc.
2015 - Persona 4: Dancing All Night - Dancing game spin off, non-canon
2016 - Persona 5
2018 - Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight; Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight; Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth
More dancing games and Q2 which is another non-canon game which introduces the P5 cast as the leading team this time instead of P4. Not a sequel to Q1. Same setting of characters from the other games appearing from their time into this dimension. New story and characters unique to the game are included.
2019 - Persona 5 Royal - Remaster of P5 with a LOT of gameplay changes, a couple new characters, and pretty much it has new story bits.
2020 - Persona 5 Strikers - Hack and Slash style spin off game but has canon references to Persona 5 so spoilers abound if you choose to play that game before P5.
Persona 5 Royal is an improved version of Persona 5 and its available on PC now if you wanna play it 😎
CANDIDATE FOR THE BEST OPENINGS REACTION VIDEO ON THE CHANNEL FOR SURE
For some cool context, the guy who does the rap for Persona 3 and other Persona titles is called Lotus Juice, he does other official anime rap like the theme of Death the Kid from Soul Eater.
So all the numbered games are self contained stories, so you can play what ever one you want.
Persona 4 Golden, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload are update versions of each game with new story elements, characters, game play and quality of life improvements. As for an order I would start with P4Golden (its the oldest Now and has less updates then the other two) then P5R and then P3 Reload.
i mean, Persona 3 Reload isn't really an update version, it have neither of the unique content from p3FES (basically, it's a direct sequel) nor the P3 Portable content (basically, the same story, but with an female MC) yet, i know about the leak from Midori about the FES content, but it's not official yet.
Persona 4 Golden the one you loved the intro very colourful and joiful is very deep, it explores every main characters deepest fears and insecurities, there's some murders and investigation, there's a love and dating system and daily time, for example you can choose to go on a date and fortify your realtionship with other characters and evolve them or you can jut fold origami at home to earn money and raise some stats or even play a bi with your "sister".
pretty good game
In Japanese culture its typical to refer to an older male that you are close to as older brother even if not siblings, in the case of Nanako she is the protagonists cousin.
The Persona series is peak fiction
Not sure if anyone else answered this already but the reason the Persona 3 characters point a "gun" to their head is because it's how they summon their Persona, a physical manifestation of a part of themselves normally kept hidden. In Persona 4 and 5 they have different ways to summon their personas. In 4, they crush a tarot card to do it and in 5 they take off a mask. Persona 3's overall "lesson" is about the inevitability and acceptance of death. So in order to summon their personas, the main cast has to face death head on, holding a gun-like Evoker to their head and willing pull the trigger.
tldr: pew pew to the head equals persona
"How many Persona 4 are there?"
ATLUS will create a world where Persona 4 and 5 last forever.jpg
17:59 “This isn’t HD”
To be fair that’s a OP from a PSP game. Ripping out assets from that handheld console shows that the image quality ain’t the best. But at the same time there’s literally HD uploads of the OP via a re-release of the game. So who knows how the uploader messed that one up. There’s already missing OPs here, so why not?
Persona 4 is personally my favorite fr fr
Same
Man I can't decide between 3, 4 and 5 😭 Probably 5 though cuz it was my first amd impacted me the most
Same i started with 5, but 4 is the one I like the most. For me it is 4 3 then 5.
Persona 5 Royal is at least 160 hours long for a serious playthrough
I'd honestly say 130 but it depends on the player
i mean i finished in 117 hours but yeah your point still valid

The first Persona 4 Arena always gets me because they try to make Teddie look badass and its so funny
Persona 3 is PEAK. Do yourself a favor and play that heat
Tbh there's no Persona game I wouldn't call a masterpiece but personally I think 2 is the best of the best!
@@connorharnage6697spit your FACTS! no persona game will ever be better than 2.
Each persona entry has a self-contained story, so you can start with whichever you want. Persona 3 Reload might be a good hoice to start though, since it isn't as long as ps5, and is also bit smaller in scope.
24:50 Persona 4 golden goes hard
God i love this trend of people reacting to the persona openings. I cannot stress this enough: I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS

2 hours…man didn’t even get through the tutorial!
I always love seeing people's first reactions to the Evokers.
Im late to comment this I dead forgot but the Persona Q games are spinoffs which are crossovers between personas 3-5 (first game was 3 and 4)
Yeah... About the boy in the bear, at first it was only the bear suit, it was hollow at first but the suit was still sentient. However the suit (I shit you not) developed a body within itself (offscreen) to rizz up the girls in the crew. Also, both the openings and ost are bangers, like the persona q openings didn't need to go so hard
P3 and P5 heck yeah
I actually haven't played P3 myself, I'm going to now that the remake is out
P5 royal was great tho u should definitely play that
I am in love with this series.
My favorite one is Break Out Of… from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.
Yo Don, this editing is getting proper professional yk. Well in lad💪
Haha wasnt me gotta thanks the editors for that but ill let them know thank you
His reactions to Teddie hilarious af. 😂
Persona 1 originally had 2 branching storylines but one of them was cut from the english release on the Playstation 1.
The remake on Playstation portable restored the cut features
For playing the games, starting with Persona 5 Royal or Persona 3 Reload is good. Probably Reload since it just came out and has hype around it. Plus Persona 3 is one of the best games in the series.
On the reaction side, you could watch some of the Persona anime adaptions. There are the four Persona 3 movies, Persona 4 the Animation (goated), Persona 4 Golden the Animation (more of an anthology series focusing on slice of life but still has major spoilers), and Persona 5 the Animation.
I kinda wish the original video had specified which games are which. Some of them are pretty obvious, but it can be a bit confusing. I guess just keep in mind that the openings are in chronological order and there're a bunch of updated re-releases.
Your awesome
"Is that a gun?"
Yup. That's how they summon it.
Persona 5 was most impactful game in my life
Oh God, one of these...
we need a play through of persona 3-5 and then 1 and the 2 duology
To this day, Persona has one of my favorite stories in gaming history, i'm talking about the Sun Arcana from Persona 3.
Persona 3 has the main theme of Death, with the tagline "Memento Mori" which translated from Greek means "Remember that you are mortal".
The Sun Arcana is Akinari Kamiki, a writer that develops an incurable lung disease and enter a spiral of depression and self-loathing but thanks to the help from the protagonist, he manages to pull himself out of this spiral and publishes a book about a Pink Alligator. I really like one of the quotes of the story: "the meaning of my life is not something I should worry about. It's really what others think of my life or what I was able to do for them. So... for me, or you, or anyone... the meaning of our lives is something that we make but don't see. People can't survive without help from others."
sounds interesting. i just downloaded persona 3 reload so i'm excited to play the game.
@@okluminous566 Personally i'm not a fan of Reload (they took too much stuff from 5 when it comes to combat and muddled 3 identity, but that's just me being a purist because i really like the game) but Persona 3 is a very strong game when it comes to story and themes. it's also very replayable and you will need a few playthrough to get to see all the content that the game offers
you think its worth playing p3 (original) before the reload?@@ulquiorra9729
@@ulquiorra9729 sounds like a time commitment but a fun one lol. heard persona 5 is like 200 hours long which is crazy. Ima get persona 4 golden too since a lot of people told me that it’s their favorite persona.
@@okluminous566110 to be more precise but that's only if you're going for the best possible ending. Still crazy tho lol
Glad to see you like the Shadow World opening for Persona 4 Golden because it's one of my favourites, always singing along when I boot up that game
Persona 5 Royal changed my whole life, it’s such a beautiful game, visually, audibly, story wise and fuckin spiritually cus it got me on a whole new level. I always get goosebumps hearing P5R music
Some of these are Re-released versions
P3P is for PlayStation portable
Revelations Persona is the original Localized Game
And the PSP release is the better more Accurate translation of the JAPANESE intended story
Ey don quick thing about persona it’s actually a game series that was originally a spin off of the shin megami tensei series which is a bit of a monster collection type game like Pokémon and I’m pretty sure since the games started selling well they made it its own thing and even remade the original games which the originals were the openings before persona 3 and the remakes were after persona 4 in that video also each game also had an extended and enhanced version as well and with p3 forward got at least one spin off and a dancing game also to answer your question on why they put guns to their head in persona 3 is cause each game has a different way they bring out their persona
They are not the Same Person
Tatsuya Suou is the IS (Innocent Sin) protagonist Maya is EP (Eternal Punishment) protagonist
The opening shows more of a Baton pass
Awesome reaction of my favorite intros of my favorite game!!!!😊😊😊😊

Man some of the persona game's characters had the goofiest weapons
First off, one of them just straight up punches things
Another has a comically large katana
P4 had someone kicking things which is a step up(ba dum tis) but then you have someone using A FOLDABLE CHAIR WWE STYLE
P5 one of them has brass knuckles which is.. better but at the same time everyone has a gun there
YESSS LETS GO PERSONA
Persona is a very confusing franchise. They have mainline games, marvel vs capcom style fighting games, dancing games, dynasty warriors style games, and so many other styles, including remakes with extra content.
The games primarily flip back and forth between the real world and the metaverse. Just speaking mainline games, 1 and 2 are basically Shin Megami Tensei games, 3 is more about accepting the reality of death, 4 is about accepting the truth about yourself instead of supressing it and letting that destroy you, while 5 is about removing your “mask” and exposing your true self.
Without ruining Persona 4 for you, Teddy is a creation of the metaverse, and when he comes to the real world, be gets a real world form, as does Morgana in Persona 5.
While all the games are long, Persona 3 reload should be shorter than P5 (that doesn’t mean much they’re still both 80+ hour games). So for that reason alone, you could get through P3 quicker and then go back to P5.
I play
P3
P4
P5 not finish yet
P3 still the goat for me
MAAAN do persona 1 and 2 both need a remake
