Have you ever seen a "tribute" car that's more authentic that the "real thing"? We haven't seen many, but this 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt certainly could make a claim to the title. Built with more "real" Thunderbolt parts than most "real" Thunderbolts, including a real-deal Holman & Moody 427 side-oiler, this is the ideal car for the Ford fanatic seeking a Thunderbolt that can be driven and shown with pride. Or, if you've got a Thunderbolt, but don't have the incredibly pricey "real" engine, this car could be the link to making your car "correct". Авто/Мото
1:54 when he turns the key, it sounds like a bomb going off! Awesome!
64 Thunderbolt. 427 2 4 4Barlles 4 speed 612 Gear. Holds National Records for 6 years. Super Stock.
Gotta love it, I had a factory ordered 64.fairlane when I was 20, Black on black , back in the day I saw Grubby Jacks T Bolt at Oswego racetrack in 64, flip it go in to the rough whoopdees on the big end, it wasn't Pretty.
DAVE LYTLE
They didn't call it the widow maker for nothing!!
I lived 25 miles from Oswego, ran a few chevrolets, seen Don Garlits in 66 It was a shame when it was closed.
Built by Rod Gallimore for himself in N>C.....White with red was his favorite colors, other than that its 100% tbolt correct. He also built the burgundy car at RK for a friend...alway with correct ford parts even the single exhaust.Unique that no one catches is he had a local craftsman make an aluminum gas cap rear trim panel piece.
😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍💘😍 What a beastly beauty. A dream car to have in my garage.
Authentic clone or not, that is one very nice car.
I'd drive it in a heartbeat and I am sure the car would get plenty of looks along the way.
AMEN
Very Nice car ! Thumbs up and liked.
You are welcome.
the original t bolts came from the factory with a single exhaust system still attached to meet the nhra specs....just a cool tid bit from back in the day.
My friend bought the car from the person who bought it from RK...He was under the car wiping it down and the head of a cross bolt fell off the block. It was a 28 motor with bolt heads epoxied on...RK knows shit about the cars they sell. The person my friend bought it from had the car for sale for over a yr...My friend bought it after the price became right and sight on seen.He learned a lesson.
Glued on cross bolts? Holy hell, really?
Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus I had a friend that epoxied the crossbolts over&painted the block & passed the 427 off as a 390!!!
Clone or not, I'd drive it!!!!!!! lol
I thought they never got mirrors for weight reduction
I have heard over the years that the bodies for these cars was acid dipped for weight reduction as well?
So we're the a990's
And they didnt have sunvisers for weight reduction aswell
NO RADIO HEATER OR SOUND DEADING.NOTHING NOT NEEDED ! LOL
first; the front bumper shows ikt`s a clone ;)
- and yes, the sideoiler wasn`t introduced until -65 ;)
64fairlane359 who gives a shit!!
this car is a tribute and is nice but is not a thunderbolt and will never be its sad to say the thunderbolt is dead cept for a memory and to some billionaire collectors 13/1 comp 427 it was a car that had the soul of racing under the hood no car should disrespect the t-bolt by calling itself one
Iv'e seen tribute Thunderbolt cars & this is not one of them! Not sure if what was done to this car to make it street legal, but a true Thunderbolt car would only have one wiper on the driver side & there were no sun visors on the passenger side a Thunderbolt car. Also the bumpers on this car are chrome steel & the Thunderbolt bumpers were aluminum. Also the rear window cranks were not on, nor the rear crank mechanisms in favor of fixed Plexiglas rear side windows and backlight and they replaced the door panels with ones without holes for the rear window crank and front armrest were also removed for weight.
These cars are made for people who know nothing about cars. They just want to brag to their friends who also know nothing about cars.
And then there's that red interior and side stripe... Authentic as all hell!
a street drivable 11:1 compression ratio...yeah you can't get sunoco106 octane anymore...so 12;1 won't work.
the front bumper was aluminum
YEP
Single exhaust out the back, NO T-Bolt was like that.
Except, yeah, they were.
when ford dared to go racing!
DID THEY EVER ! LOL
Dared, shit Ford wrote the book on racing, chevy and mopar were so scared of this 1/4 mile rocket they tried to ban it and the boss 429. Chicken shits .
Although a very nice car, and I'm sure it would fetch a hefty price. But, lets be honest here, its a Trailer Queen like all the other Concourse restores out there. If the car can't be driven on a daily basis, what good is it? JMHO
MOST GOOD DRAG CARS CANT BE DRIVEN ANYWAY...
There were no armrest on the front doors either......too fake
cdb281 fuck off!!!
Tribute::: screw that.
Wilbur Snaffel yeah just go pay a million for a real one!!!
a t-bolt....w/ single exhaust?! whatever................
Excuse me.....
I have a little bit of vomit in the back of my throat...
OK. now if you are going to make such claims about being close that an original, you ought to do your home work....
Now I have to go and wash out my throat.
This car is all bullshit and if ya want to bring it to Iowa we will show you why. I don't mind clones as the real cars are almost impossible to own but this one is nothing special. Not even a nod to Holman and Moody or TASCA Ford. Not much of a tribute at all to me. Was it built for an auction?
