I was introduced to hot water cornbread that day from then on when she brought it she made enough for me. That is the kind of thing the world needs today. I make hot oil cornbread, and only in a cast iron. 4 or 5 tablespoons of oil in skillet. Place in oven at 425 for 2-3 min. Popping, not burnt, oil. Pour in your cornbread mix in the center, and as it fills it will fry a good crust on the edges. Place in oven for 15-18 min. Done. My grandmomma taught me. I serve cornbread with my pinto beans, hash, black eyed, and any type roast. Love you guys. This is one of my mud-tire slow roller romping songs!!
