Back in 90s, when cassettes were still in use, we had this song on some pirate Nirvana compilation in Russia, nice times and a great song! We thought it was Nirvana on instruments and the vocalist of Jesus Lizard on vocals, but turns out it is a totally JL song.
I think i had the same compilation on CD, with some unrecognizable reddish-stuff on the cover. Puss was number 7, and it transitioned into "in bloom" perfectly.
@@GreatAuben The cassette I had was probably without any covers on, just a list of the songs on both sides of it. But cool compilation, I bought it because of that JL song.
jesus lizard....live at first ave in Minneapolis circa 90 something David Yow clambers back onto stage, pants coming off the crowd hushes and my friend yells "FREE WILLY!!!" David Yow responds..."we don't do request's" and the band blasts into puss.....one of my favorite live music experiences ever...
I remember working with these folks back in the day at Sudsy’s Malones in Cincinnati, a simply amazing band. I also worked with Duane Denison when he played with the The Legendary Shack Shakers, a seriously bad ass guitar player.
I remember when this came out in high school as a split 7" w/ nirvana. My friends were nirvana fans, but didn't buy this. I never told em about Jesus Lizard, I kept em my secret. Only a couple were eventually evolved enough to catch on. Never found out if they survived. High school always sucks, kids...
First time i heard this song in 1995 or 96 in pirate "NIRVANA singles collection" tape that i got in a swap meet. The tracks was not marked and i about five years thought that was a untypical Nirvana's track. Five years through i discovered the internet...That was the blast effect for me. the J.L. never was known in Russia, but this is fucking good!
One of the greatest must under appreciated frontmen of all time
Everything about this is perfect.
A thing of beauty

This is my favorite jam by The Jesus Lizard, and this rendition in particular is awesome. I particularly love the beer swig at about 1:10.
A band we had, but a band we did not deserve.

i filmed all the concert but edited only 6 songs i think .... when i 'll have more time i'll work on some other footage and let you know.
Nice footage/ audio. Appreciate the effort. Thank you.
