This video convinced me to get the Omnibass after years of using DjinnBass and PunkBass. Somehow it's able to pull off the things I like about both but better.
how do you keep your cpu so low in FL while running all your plugins on projects? My computer is pretty decent but after a few instances of neural dsp and parallax, after adding drums I usually run into high cpu and crackling
It's crazy that compared to umansky bass, grove bass sounds almost like a clean bass tone through the same processing. Also the default clan tone in umansky bass sounds already gritty.
I could imagine Eurobass works well with something like fabfilter saturn to create some nice and dirty resonant midrangey 500-1500hz range distortion to get along with some dirty chuggin metal riffs. like you said, it has a more traditional metal sound or in my ears midrange to it. however after seeing this vid I just really like how articulate humansky and grovebass are, and how much 3-6khz presence they have in comparison to eurobass. the stringeyness of those would really cut through better if that's you're goal. would love to see a comparison with djinnbass! how would the midrange and higher presence compare to all of these
I asked Ermin if he's interested in sampling a Bongo (because I have a 6 string PDN Bongo) and he turned me down lol, this was late 2019 I think...? They are very well sampled instruments and pretty useful for writing stuff.
Truebass is what Submission calls their libraries that have each note sampled on every string, meaning you can choose to play notes in different positions to get a more natural sound. Djinnbass wasn't sampled like that so you just have control over note articulations. It doesn't sound as realistic but if you program it well it sounds just fine in a mix in my opinion.
do they sound great in the mix with heavy guitars? yeah. tho the moment there's no guitars, it's so obvious that it's midi. And I love my "same verse but no guitars" thing too much
Nothing more satisfying than laying down the bass track listening to the drums. Guitars become a fuzzy mess when mixing and mastering a track but the bass guitar always cuts through the mix without even trying. Hopefully more people take the time to play and record their bass tracks and experience the satisfaction. but plugins have gotten better over the years. Also some of these plugins cost more than bass guitars and there are tons of free bass amp vsts and pedal vsts for distortion.
@@PhobiaDubstep a dingwall costs over 2k and you get a dingwall sim for under 100bucks during a sale. That's 20x the cost. And you cannot replicate the sound of a dingwall on a budget.

It's scary how you drop this video just when I started thinking about getting a bass plugin.
Great comparison as always Keyan! Your videos are always easy to follow and the time you spend with each instrument is fairly shown.
Thanks for watching dude! Glad you enjoyed it
Love you dude!
love YOU dude
Bro how did you know I was in the market for a new vst bass 🤨 Keyan is monitoring your data CONFIRMED
Omnibass is the clear winner imo sounds clean!
I'm always watching
Umansky Bass is still the king, but Omnibass really got something going.
Umansky is still king. although omni comes in 2nd

Loki Bass is pretty solid if you want a Dingwall sound but I really wanna try out MayoBass, more my style.

DjinnBass still is one of the best to my ears
Thank you. This helped me a lot.
Singularity goes pretty solid

this was so helpful 🙏
And now there’s Nolly
I bought Djinn bass recently
I think an inside mix comparison would have been a perfect sonic comparison between them, great video nonetheless!
Grovebass also has a lead channel

Where can one find that course you did?
Eurobass for the win
Second that. More low end better all round versatile tone
Need a jazz bass.
Im ready to get destroyed on Friday mate! \m/
Omnibass?? O_o Seems even the Submussion Audio don't know about that product...

Shocking how much the new Nolly library just annhilates all of these. Djinnbass was my favorite for ages but no more
Is Djinnbass not true bass? I don’t even know what that means

@@vigaxan86 That makes perfect sense. Thank you for the explanation

Massive Metal Bass gang where ya at?
No Loki Bass?
I think I'll save my money and get Shreddage Hydra first
Just buy a bass goddammit
costs a lot more

These VST basses are usually only for demo-land. Real basses aren't going anywhere
@@maxalaintwo3578 Agreed! Submissions basses are great for demo-ing. But midi bass will always sound like midi-bass, it lacks a lot of soul.
