Let's get one thing clear here. To use any 3.8 wheel with a removable hex, to have a zero offset you have no choice but to buy the very expensive alloy 17mm hex adapters. (If you can find them in stock) You cannot purchase a zero 8x32 offset in plastic which is totally unfair to every single customer. My Trencher LP's 3.8 are too wide on my Tekno MT410 but simply changing to a zero offset is far more difficult (and expensive) than it should be. Sort it out !
yep! this was a blatant money making idea. I prefer one piece wheels without the extra weight of the changeable hex. guess I'll have to go to another company for tires now. thanks PL.
yep, only found this out after i bought a set for my arrma talion, i stupidly assumed proline would of supplied zero adapters along with the wide offset, at the very least they should sell zero offset in plastic separately, i have herd the plastic proline adapters apparently strip out pretty easily, but in saying that ive completely worn out countless tyres on 1/8th trucks using fully plastic wheels without stripping hexes, would of been nice to at lease try zero offset in plastic instead of having to bend over and buy the extremely over priced alloy adapters straight of the bat, wont be buying anymore proline stuff if thats how they are going to do business.
also, just ran these tyres for the 5th time and this will be the 3rd tyre to unglue from the wheel, I'm running a talion on 4s and yet 3 of the 4 pre mounted tyres have fallen off, good job gluing the tyres proline.
You guys rock!!! Love your videos and this is a great idea! Where is the video about gluing up the tires? I know there is one and I know there was a special technique on gluing them up
I had to replace the mt4-g3 tires because of hex stripping. I got the trenchers. Pretty impressive. The mt4 has become a pain in the ass for part support. I will probably get a traxxas maxx or xmaxx next.
Put a set on my big rock, roled the car and the insert had buckled. Lucky the modelshop is sending another set out hopefully it was just a fluke. Running 14mm hex with 7mm nylock nut, maybe the nut head should be bigger I feel the hex insert bent around the head of the nut.
I have the Pro-Line Badlands 3.8 MTD Raid 8x32 Wheels 17mm MT F/R along with the Pro-Line 8x32 to 17mm 1/2 Offset Aluminum Hex Adapters. I noticed that after I installed all 32 screws, there are humps around each screw. I probably tightened them to much. Backing them out won't cause the tiny hump to go away. Did I cause any possible damage and would the plastic on the wheel crack?
Hi @Ray Donovan, Here is a response direct from our R&D team: A very small bump on the inner diameter is normal but it will get bigger if the screw is over-tightened. The wheel should be fine though. We have not experienced any wheel failures due to over-tightening. We hope this answers your question, Thanks for your interest and support!
i wonder why they did that? wouldn't be to force people into a choice of either discarding the entire wheel or bending over and spending 100 BUX on 4 extremely over priced pieces of aluminum.
You guys need to make the 24 mil hubs for the xmaxx I don't know why traxxas use the 17 mil an 24 in the back or do you guys already sell the whole conversion kit for it to be true 24 mil axle an nut
3:37 affordable? are you kidding!!, i own a set of 3.8 wheels and i want to get the narrow offset which only comes as the alloy adapter that cost over $100 for all 4, what a F%$#ing rip off!!!
I've been into the hobby grade part of RC for three decades. 30 years ago some oem wheels were three piece and used screws around the hubs to hold them together. aftermarket wheel manufacturers like PL were pushing the use of one piece wheels as they were lighter and stronger than the multi piece wheels. I can't for the life of me understand why they came up with this gimmick now and more so can't understand why they didn't make it an option and still provide their one piece wheels. all the older style wheels have been marked "discontinued" on their site. I have never stripped the hex on my wheels, not on stock or aftermarket ones.
Shame im on the fence about getting these now. Thought it was a good idea been removable. The centre hexs are cheap enough to replace, better than wasteing a whole wheel id of thought.
@@ProLineRacingYT all good. Got a pair of 2.8 belted trencher raids ordered and on the way for my Big Rock. Other rim designs for future raid iterations would be great. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽
KILLROY WAS HERE I have the old set of 2.8 proline trenchers , an I screwed the hex’s on there old set , an all I did was take the wheel off the rim an then I got the new set of rims an put them on an love them
Hi @John D, Yes they do with our 17mm Hex Adapters👍🏽 www.prolineracing.com/accessories/6x30-to-17mm-hex-adapters.asp We hope this answers your question, Thanks for your interest and support!

i have a garbage bag of proline and traxxas wheels i have stripped the hexes, or cracked the hexes on the wheel, stampede 4x4 running 4s. its been 7 years, youd think i would have baked the tires off those old rims by now..

The removable hubs are a CRAP design! They’re cheap and the only “upgrade” are the aluminum adapters that are $65/pair! So spend $130 on a set of wheels/tires that are guaranteed to break under light use…and then spend another $120 to keep from breaking them! I will not buy another proline product. Luckily I have my backup set. I get the idea behind it, good idea but just doesn’t work on 4s cars.
Making the hex removable and with width and size options was brilliant! I'm excited to see more belted tires coming as well.

Would like to see these on an Updated Clodbuster wheel!
Nice stuff guys. Great to see you keeping things moving forward.

Hey ProLine Guy! I want a belted tire that isnt too big for my Maxx!. What do you suggest?
Great design and beef factor but how about making an affordable 14mm adapter ?

To bad the 17mm adapters are super weak and the aluminum adapters are crazy expensive.
i wonder why they did that? wouldn't be to force people into a choice of either discarding the entire wheel or bending over and spending 100 BUX on 4 extremely over priced pieces of aluminum.
Cool idea👍👍
Please fix the weak hex problem. Every time I install a new hex they crack. 7 out 8 broke which make it totally useless.
Do the 17mm polymer adapter for the 6x30 rim come in wide and narrow also?
Why can’t you guys make a 2.2 with removable hex?? I would buy all of them
Still looking for a video of how these go together. No luck here
I can’t find a removable aluminum hex wide for a slash with 2.2 Raid wheels. Do you make them?
I have a CEN GST 7.7 do you guys have 23mm hex wheel? I cant find wheels for it anywhere!!
ok proline. 2 months ago i bought 3.8 badlands for erevo 2.0. can i buy off set to fit these tires on my xmaxx? Please and Thankyou
I’ve got the proline 6x30 to 17mm hex adapters, I thought the kit came with crews :( ?! What do I need?
Desperado rims, removable hex in the future?
Make some 2.2 beadlocks with these features
You guys need to make the 24 mil hubs for the xmaxx I don't know why traxxas use the 17 mil an 24 in the back or do you guys already sell the whole conversion kit for it to be true 24 mil axle an nut

The plastic centers suck. Break one every single time I take my car out within 5 minutes. Hopefully the aluminum ones don't have any issues.
Shame im on the fence about getting these now. Thought it was a good idea been removable. The centre hexs are cheap enough to replace, better than wasteing a whole wheel id of thought.
I bought a set for my VXL Rustler 2wd. Do I use the longer offset in the back and the shorter offset in the front?
It's the other way around. Use the 12mm wide hex in front and the 12mm narrow hex in the rear.
So can ya put a 12mm adapter on a 3.8 inch?
Hi @M,
We do not have a 12mm adapter for the 3.8" Raid Wheel, only 2.8"
We hope this answers your question,

Hello, I would like a set for my typhon 6s 1/8th scale buggy. Which one do I go with?
17mm hex
How about some xmaxx tires that glue to Traxxas rims?
KILLROY WAS HERE I have the old set of 2.8 proline trenchers , an I screwed the hex’s on there old set , an all I did was take the wheel off the rim an then I got the new set of rims an put them on an love them

Beleted 1/8 buggy wheels?

There should be wide 17mm hexes
Is this a problem people have? I've never stripped a hex that's part of the wheel, I have stripped the hex that the wheel attaches to but not the wheel.
I would assume it happens on faster cars, I only have a slash 4x4 vxl and 4tec 2.0 vxl
It happened to me once but they were cheapest of cheapest
I stripped a stock wheel on my rustler 4x4, but other than one time I have never had any wheels fail on me... lots of tires though lol.
All it takes is using the wrong type of nut once. The nut backs off, the wheel spins and the hex inside of the wheel will round out.
i have a garbage bag of proline and traxxas wheels i have stripped the hexes, or cracked the hexes on the wheel, stampede 4x4 running 4s. its been 7 years, youd think i would have baked the tires off those old rims by now..
$40 for a pair of aluminum hex adapters!? No thanks.
Ya super overpriced, I don't think lots of people have bought them.🤔
SEN-TON?
I broke evey one onu belted tired 1 /2 run
Sucks I have all the old proline tires now I need these they should of made these from the start smh
They’re not durable check the forums, the adapters split on the hex. Proline is impossible to deal with.

Why the hell do you guys have replaceable hexes for wheels that you cant even buy tires for . You have to buy the whole pre glued tire. Ill shot
