Man made diamonds are all the rage around the world, but there is such a demand for old cut diamonds now that prices are steadily rising for the older cut stones. Stone that were mined sometimes centuries ago have more of an appeal in the market.     How to recognize how many carats? never understood thsi, but it's very beautiful you can tell by the sparkles ! Good tips thank you

    Don't buy a modern real diamond and then think you can resell later for anything like what you paid. Many times if it's half a carat or less all you'll get offered is metal weight. The same for lab-created stones, except metal weight only applies to all of them. Antique stones in an antique setting are a whole different ballgame. 02:20 THAT ONE. I'll take that one! Golconda stones? Cushion cuts? That ring will always be worth what you paid if not more, and if those are Golconda stones...the price isn't going anywhere but up.

    Personaly i think most natural diamonds are quite overated. Most stones below 1ct are not at all rare but thanks to decades of successful advertising and market manipulation by De Beers the price has been hiked. The reality is that there are gems far rarer/better value and more interesting if you are prepared to do some homework.
