I wouldn't call Port or Demons the premiership favourite. Collingwood have been the benchmark all year.

Giants are such a lovable team and so fun to watch. Outstanding yet again. They made Port look amateur. I love the way they're set up - there's always a teammate in support and to offload to. Such a cohesive and confident team, and their OGs like Ward & Cogs (and of course Greene) are having a season!! Sarah Jones said they were 15th in Round 12, now they're in the remaining 4!! Even if you support another team you love the Giants. Shoutout to the Orange Army that travelled to Adelaide and all their away games. We see you! BIG BIG SOUND!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I support another team and I can't stomach the Giants. Kingsley is a good bloke but the club has zero heart and soul.

Unpopular opinion: I never rated Port as a real premiership contender in 2023. Port had the lowest % in the top 4 and one of the lowest in the 8 at the end of the H&A season. The 13-win streak, as impressive as it was, had a number of very close games against bottom 10 sides, and a number of those wins could've just as easily been losses.
Another unpopular opinion: Even though he was extended to 2025, I don't rate Hinkley as the man to lead Port. He never wore a headset while coaching from the bench so he clearly isn't receiving/relaying instructions to the playing group. What *DOES* he bring to the group, then? A lot of tough questions need to be asked not just of the playing group but coaching staff over the off-season break at Alberton. There is so much talent in that Port side, enough on paper to win multiple premierships, but they fumble when it really counts.
Port have always be pretenders and will be until they make radical changes.

@@mickirving6779 The proof really is in the pudding with the two semi final outcomes. Both Port and Melbourne out in straight sets after top 4 finishes. Toby Greene said it himself before the game yesterday - "We don't have the most talented side in the comp right now, but we have great team chemistry and everyone plays their role. We believe that when we play our best footy, we can beat anyone" and after last night's performance, he's not wrong.
There are too many chefs at Port, too many midfielders waiting for the cheeky handball out of a contest so they can run and carry with the lights dazzling on them, but SOMEONE has to get in their and get their hands dirty.
@@DV-zv4ox Port have too many selfish players, unwilling to put their head over the ball or lunge for a desperate tackle or spoil. There isn’t enough pressure to hold their spot because Port lack depth. They are as shallow as a puddle of urine.

Port were comfortable top 2 for a big part of the season. Giants could've hit 100 by Half Time if they could kick straight. Huge fall off
Ports % was mediocre during the season. This game showed exactly where they were at.
A lot of Port fans I know were quietly sceptical of the clubs finals strength and presence. The lack of strong ruck and a leaky defence with very little depth is not something you can carry from one season into another and not rectify. Lycett was on one leg for the match, as was McKenzie.

How much longer do we port fans have to deal with this? We've got some really outstanding players who have had great years, but the problem is we don't have depth. It showed in that 4 game losing streak we had, where many players such as Aliir, McKenzie, Dixon, DBJ and Lycett all missed some games. Without our best 22 playing we can't win. But Hinkley has won 2 finals in the past 7 years with both of them against Geelong. We literally have made the top 4 in 3 of the last 4 seasons, yet can't make the grand final. And sure, we have an undermanned defence, but we did trade away Dougal Howard a few seasons ago, and he would've been handy in defence. So Port Adelaide, please #sackhinkley

Matthew Lloyd pointed out two huge issues for Port that actually carried over from last year and weren't rectified: Port only have one competitive ruckman who is getting older and been on one leg for the second half of the H&A season. Expecting Finlayson or Dixon to be able to go in and ruck competitively at the pointy end of the season and then finals is short-sighted, the club needs to sign Grundy and start looking for a couple defenders (one experienced and one coming through the ranks) 2. Defence is sorely lacking depth. The only defender Port have that can match it with the best is Aliir and even then, he can only do so much.

How things have changed. About 6 months ago I found Greater to be the least relevant and charismatic team in the AFL. I was wondering "who the hell would like this team??". Greater just seemed so irrelevant. Well now....I'm actually starting to like these guys and of the finalists, Greater is my favourite team.

Port Adelaide, what the f***? You made the same mistake Melbourne made the night before. Inaccurate kicking costs games. And you shouldn't have let GWS go on a run too. Now, they get to play Collingwood at the MCG in a Preliminary Final rematch.
Port won’t be a successful team until they are willing to make hard decisions. Ken simply isn’t the right coach. He has been given 11 years despite the fact he hasn’t achieved anything. The decision to extend his contract for another 2 years despite his poor record is astounding. He continues to hoodwink a subset of the delusional supporter base. How a team performs during finals is a strong indication, if they are on the right trajectory. It is apparent Port were merely making up the numbers and the worst finalist.

@@DV-zv4ox He doesn’t bring anything sustainable to the table. He is a relationship coach; with little to no strategy. Selected squad is based entirely on favouritism or some form of esoteric unseeable potential. Dixon has been hobbling for the entire season yet he is chosen the moment he can walk and his contract is extended. Todd Marshall cowers in contested moments. Lycett who can’t play more than a quarter. McEntee gets a free pass despite kicking less than a goal a game. Port don’t possess one strong-bodied one-on-one defender. Each key position has gaping holes.
