It'is not forbidden to drink cappuccino in the afternoon, unless it's very hot outside. Cappuccino is not drunk during main meals, italians don't drink milk during lunch or dinner. Cappuccino is sweet and we don't eat it with pasta or meat. It would be like eating jam with... i don't know... with octopus.

Fun comment about Cappuccino. Many years ago I worked as a biologist in the Arctic with Inuit hunters. Whenever someone came from town to the hunting camp ( a two day snowmobile drive) they brought Del Monte Fruit Salad as a big treat. I cooked a meal (meat of course) for the hunters. I was puzzled when the Inuit guys started eating the fruit salad first. Their response was, "why don't you white people eat what you want when you want." So, "eat dessert first," and "eat what you want when you want," have become life philosophies for me. I'll be cycling from Munich and across Northern Italy to Rome starting next week. I speak enough French to understand the gist of Italian, but phrasing meaningful replies is not an option. Maybe I'll get Mr. Google to do a translation and then print up this little story for puzzled bar and restaurant staff if I want a Cappuccino in the afternoon. Thanks for making me think of this treasured memory - looking forward to eating well in Italy - especially great bread, great cheese, great wine and, of course, great coffee. Thanks for the tip about Cacio e Pepe - I'll try it.

Hi Tanay! So glad we could help you! Budgeting is difficult because everyone eats and drinks so differently. We've eaten really good meals throughout Italy with multiple courses, wine, and dessert for around 50-60 euros for two people. And you could definitely eat dinner more cheaply. A coffee or cappuccino should be 1.00-1.50 euro if you drink at the bar, gelato runs around 2.50-3.00 euro, most pastries are just a couple euro, aperitivo is usually in the 10 euro range, etc. Hope some of this helps!

2:26 - Pedantry alert!! Your screen shows macarons plus the word “macarons,” but the audio says “macaroons.” However, macaroons and macarons are actually two different things. “A macaron (pronounced mack-a-ROHN) is a confection made up of two round, flat, almond-flour-based cookies sandwiching an emulsified filling like ganache or jam. ... A macaroon (two os; pronounced mack-a-ROON) is a mounded cookie made with shredded coconut and often dipped in chocolate.”
Thanks for clarifying! We clearly don't speak French...or pastries😉
Il gelato è molto nutriente e può sostituire un pranzo, mangiarlo due volte in una settimana va ben, è meglio non esagerare.
It is delicious and nutritious! And tempting to eat more than twice a week 😉🍦
I laughed so hard with the comment on the birds grabbing your food at Antico Forno Roscioli cause it did happen to me! A giant seagull landed on my head grabbing my focaccia :-( Very helpful video, you highlight really interesting places. The Frigidarium gelateria is awesome! Next time you are in Rome, try the pasta from AI42 in Monti. ;-)
Oh no, we hate that the birds stole your pizza too! ...although it makes for a memorable experience ;)
Thanks for the restaurant recommendation in Monti. We will add it to our map!!
Lovely food. That's the way I like it GRAZI MILLE
Prego! Italy has some incredible food. :)
This is my first time watching any of your videos. You both come across as a genuinely nice couple. My wife and I are heading to Italy in the fall to see the sites and visit her family (she's been to Italy numerous times as have our kids). Looking forward to seeing your other videos.
We're so glad you found us! We truly love sharing what we love with others! I hope that you and your wife have a wonderful trip to Italy this fall to visit her family.
Definitely going to visit many of these spots in 3 weeks since our hotel is very close by. Appreciate this video.
Fantastic! We hope you enjoy all of this yummy food in Rome. Happy travels!!
Amazing content !! I will follow this and Please make a video of things to do in Italy ...Rome and other cities
We are so glad you enjoyed this! Thank you!!
Guys, so many gelaterias and caffes. It's not food! :)
Ah, but Italy has so much variety of food and drinks beyond just meals!
Great advice, thanks guys
You're welcome! Thanks for letting us know it was helpful!
If you want to eat Italian gourmet food, you have to seek out restaurants with family traditions where knowledge is passed down.
Then you are in heaven.🎆
It's true, homemade and family-made Italian food is the best!
Do you have any restaurants to recommend? We are coming in May and would love to try them out
@@evelinalapata9693
It was 20 years ago that I was there last.
I advise you to visit the nearest church and ask the priest.
I'm not kidding.🌝
.Yr vlogs are very helpful !!! thank you!
Thanks for the encouragement! So glad we could be helpful:)
Loving your vids, me & my son arriving Saturday 18th March 23 for Roma v Lazio on Sunday. Hopefully have a brief blast :)
Wow, you're arriving tomorrow! Have a great trip!!
@@AplinsintheAlps made a list of all your food stops, weather looks great 😎 So football and a dash round the sights 😀
Brava! Good!! I love the Innocenti biscuit factory too! I made a video of it! a little gem. Congratulations for the video
Thanks for leaving such a kind comment!
Thank you so much for this! We’re going for the first time next month, so appreciate your short and sweet videos and tips.
And ignore people who just can’t help themselves and have to post negative comments. We’re thankful for people like you.
I can’t find the map that you referenced?
Looks so cool! Do you guys know Kara and Nate? You guys remind me of them. ;-)
We get that comment a lot :) Probably because we all come from the same area outside of Nashville. We take it as a compliment though!!
Going to Rome for the first time. Thank you for recommends! Google map is soo helpful!! Any places you recommend for dinner?
Love your videos , but the description really misses the point. Places to eat but there's hardly any local restaurants you've mentioned on here and most the places sre either desert or cafe. I cannot be eating deser and drinking coffee all day 😩
Love your videos, I live in Mexico and I understand the languaje englis a little bit.
You help me to study. Thank you.
Ma,a Roma oltre a mangiare sempre siete riusciti a vedere le sue immense bellezze o avete pensato solo ad. Ingozzarvi?
Haha. We made this video after spending nearly a year living in Rome, and we explored it inside and out. This is a video about food, which is why it includes...food. 🤣
@@AplinsintheAlps buon appetito allora 😄
6:15. I'm Italian, I was born in Rome. I know Frigidarium cause i was working in a restaurant close to that area for 1 year. The logical explanation is. That's frozen. Thank you sir.
Gelato it's also considered a dessert. Cappuccino is only at breakfast. That's why 🤪
So it’s okay to have dessert any time of day, but only breakfast in the morning? In the USA we have breakfast food any time of day 🙃
I love italian food, I eat it every day.
Yum yum!
why dont you wanna travel outside eu
We'd love to...there's just so much to see and not enough time!! We have, however, traveled to lots of non-EU European countries.
What month is this?
This was in September!
Buono
Watching this video manifesting that one day I can go visit this beautiful country. Sending lots of love from Indonesia 🇮🇩❤️
We hope you can travel here one day too!
I loved the chocolate espresso when I was in n Florence ❤️☕️❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤amazing
Thank you! We think the food is amazing too :)
Can't wait! We're leaving in two days to head to Rome and hope to be able to find all of your eating spots!
Have the best time! And enjoy all the delicious food!
Looks great!
Thank you!
