I was actually thinking about buying these and decided to check some reviews and found this video. Ian and Lisa were funny to watch. Mostly due to laziness, partly due to not needing to learn due to how easy it is to live in Beijing without speaking Chinese, and a little because I would rather learn Thai. I wonder if Ian and Lisa are still in Beijing?

It is possible but can be laggy as there are many voices. Have you got the language correct in the translation, you have to set it to what language is being translated to what?
Hi Ian thank you for your video, this was very entertaining to watch and thanks for making us all laugh. I have just recently purchased the wt2edge in Shenzhen and must say I am very impressed with them. With regards to the manual mode it does have its own benefits. For example if I’m walking along the beach with my girlfriend and we are just having short conversation sometimes I’ll change to manual mode because my girlfriend will tend to hum to herself and the humming will then be translated into several um um 😂. But in fairness I only really use them with my girlfriend if we are going to have an in-depth conversation. Also time kettle recommend changing to manual mode in a noisy environment, however simu mode works fine. Since releasing this video the app interface and performance has improved. I find the offline translation works fine now for me. Cheers hope all is going well for you up there in Beijing. Best regards Mark
Hi Mark, thank you for enjoying the video and yeah, we did have a laugh also when making the video... Lisa is fluent in a number of languages so I was not being clear on what we were trying to do, hence the confusion and hilarity trying to work it all out. The wt2edge are great, but like you, I tend to use them with very few people because of the fact that they are earpieces. I have since then started using the fluent talk which is excellent and I recommend that. It is super fast, however with some of the advances coming for AI on phones - the word of translation is about to become a lot easier and hopefully much more fun. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave the comment - it made my day.

My wife is Chinese and rudely criticizes me in Mandarin, Or so I suspect because my Mandarin is not so good. With this product I will finally know the truth. The day of reckoning is at hand.
I think you should have let her know to wait till it translated to Chinese for her. She was responding to your english before it translated so it was getting all jumbled. Its just a minor error. It wouldn't happen if the person really didn't speak English. I can see how it was confusing though. Or maybe have the other person i a different room.
You are so right JustMamba… we didn’t rehearse it and I failed to give Lisa clear instructions. We had fun doing the review and I think we managed to demonstrate some of the translation capabilities but your additional points are sound and clarify how to get the best from them. 🙏
Hello this work if I use both of the earpods? For example in a university classroom in another country and I want to understand what the teacher said? Or if I record the class I can translate the recording? Thank you 😁
It will work on both scenarios… the app has been enhanced and I use the earbuds to listen to conference calls that are spoken in mandarin - there is a lag but it is good enough to follow a business meeting. I have also used it to follow up on a recorded call in mandarin, and again, it has worked and I am able to follow the conversation. 👍
When you are doing a face to face like this turn the speed down to like .04 or .4 whatever the lowest is. If not it can sometimes pick up the other persons sentence or not record at all. Ive seen alot of people review this and have that problem so they switch the speed and it stops alot of those glitches.
