    Its been a good bulldozer. I have now used it a lot since I got it and its been working great. Now I want a bigger one. ;p I have used it to pull out my tractor, not once but twice already. We have had a lot of rain and its nice to have some power and grip to pull equipment out when you get bogged down.

    Now you are motivating me to spend some money on more equipment...

      Yeah, I think someone made it themselves. I am not sure these had them from the factory with the pipelayer option.

    I just got a 450c bulldozer and had it delivered but don't know how to operate it. The only question I have is how and when do I use the clutch because I noticed that when you use hi and low and reverse you didn't use the clutch? Is the clutch only for the gears? Thanks

    • @SeidelRanch
      @SeidelRanch  4 года назад

      Yes, the clutch is just for the numbered gear changes. Hi, Low, Neutral and Reverse are part of the hydraulic reverser and do not need the clutch pushed in to operate. Congrats BTW on the new to you dozer.

      @@SeidelRanch thank you for your time and response. I something else to ask. When you come to a stop can you just push the brake or do you have to push in the clutch at the same time like a car? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I did want to mess anything up accidentally.

      @@heymantheresabeveragehere3706 You can just put the machine in neutral without using the clutch. If you do not put it in neutral then you would have to push in the clutch to disengage the transmission. I usually just slide it into neutral and save clutching just for gear changes.

    I have a 81 450c crawler. Do you know how to remove the rear pin on the hydraulic lift cylinders? There is no room to get behind the pin. There is no access to the inside. I have to take mine off because the mount is cracked underneath the cylinder pin. I don't want to drive the pin from the outside toward the inside if I won't be able to access it to drive it back in. There has to be something I'm not seeing.

      Not sure on the dozer. I will look at it this weekend when I drive out there. I know on the loader I have they just have a bolt in the pin and you push it through after the bolt is out. I will check the dozer and get back to you.

    Looks like a fun little dozer! One just popped up on CL nearby me, with rear rippers, unknown hours and allegedly good working condition, for $8k. You think it's a good deal for this type of machine?

    • @SeidelRanch
      @SeidelRanch  4 года назад +1

      $8k is not bad if its working well. Make sure the undercarriage is good, the transmission shifts correctly, the brakes are working and the motor does not smoke. That is the basics I can think of.

    Pretty sure you're not supposed to dam up a creek like that

    • @SeidelRanch
      @SeidelRanch  3 года назад +2

      It depends on where you live and who you are affecting downstream by the dam. Since we own most of the creek and lake that was designed to hold all of the creek's water, there is really no blockage in water flow to anyone downstream.
