King of Fighters '95 [Arcade] - play as proper Boss Team duo

This is a playthrough using Omega Rugal & Saisyu Kusanagi as a proper Boss Team (just like the CPU) in the Arcade (NeoGeo MVS) version of King of Fighters '95. Read on below for more information...
Omega Rugal and Saisyu are the end bosses of the game, and both of them are unlockable playable characters. They can be set up (through external methods) for a human player to act just like the CPU "Boss Team duo" you fight against at the end of the game. By doing it this way, you get some unique features which would normally not be possible for a human player, as follows:
===== BOSS TEAM DUO FEATURES =====
---- Because they are the Boss Team duo, it means that the player only gets two characters in this team.
---- When Omega Rugal is in gameplay, you will get his pet panther sitting in the background plane area (where the non-active team members would stand), just like the CPU boss version of him. If Rugal is dizzied, his pet panther will automatically assist strike if he is on screen.
---- When Omega Rugal's panther is on some other background stages besides the ICBM Silo (final boss stage), the panther's sitting position looks "wrong". One example of this is the Women Fighters Team bar stage, where the panther looks like it's "floating" in mid air. The scrolling is wrong too and makes the panther slide around.
---- Regarding Order Select, if you select Saisyu as your first character (which means Omega Rugal would be your second character), if Saisyu is defeated then the game will go to the cut-scene where Rugal powers up, before he enters the fight. Omega Rugal's music theme will also override the original stage music and play. This can happen on any stage and you can see this in the video.
---- When Saisyu is in gameplay, he does not have anyone on his side standing in the background plane area (where the non-active team members would stand).
---- After you win a match and it heads back to the character select screen grid, you can see that Saisyu and Omega Rugal's icons are selected with the "team cursor".
---- On the Order Select screen, the sprites of Omega Rugal are invisible and there are no character icons.
---- When you win a match, on the winning screen only the character you won with will appear on it. Just like when CPU boss Saisyu or Omega Rugal beats you on the final stage.
---- If Omega Rugal is chosen as your first character, you will get the Psycho Soldier team's cut-scenes and dialogues, as well as their ending if you complete the game.
---- If Saisyu is chosen as your first character you will get the Ikari Warriors team's cut-scenes and dialogues, as well as their ending if you complete the game.
---- In gameplay, there are no partner icons under their lifebars.
===== EXTRA STUFF =====
At the end of this video I have demonstrated Omega Rugal's panther assist move and also Saisyu's assist move. You can see these starting around 30:01.
===== ABOUT KOF95 =====
KOF95 improves on the prequel in almost all aspects and the whole thing is far more refined. For the first time, players are able to choose to edit their teams from the whole roster instead of being stuck with a fixed three per team. This concept would turn out to be a hallmark feature for future KOF games. A criticism of the game would be perhaps the high damage infliction in general, meaning rounds can be really short.

MAME 1.31 and forward ver or Final Burn Alpha should just do fine. Don't forget to use the cheats for MAME and the Universal Bios for the FBA, and the Neo Geo bios also!

Speaking of cheats, how did you activate this proper boss thing? Could you provide an link with the cheats and the emulator for it, if it is a special version?

I don’t know how he did it, but I can provide detail as to how I did this thing myself. Basically, the game has a certain code set at a certain value that represents teams; the game has 9 times, meaning the values span from 0-8. 0-7 are normal playable teams, but 8 is the unplayable boss team the CPU uses.
This value will let the game treat you like the boss team (you will have cutscenes and music) but you need to manually select Saisyu and Rugal, or the game will randomly set the cutscenes up for whatever players you select.
So what I did was, I used Cheat Engine software, opened the emulator application, and derived the address of the code that controls Player 1’s team. When I finally found it (took some work), I set it to 8 and it worked.
I used KOF 95 on the Japanese Orochi Collection (95-97 edition), and I can’t tell you the addresses since they’re different for every version.
But you have to really learn how to use Cheat Engine for your own needs it’ll take a moment to learn.

@@AvadaKedavra4172, and by doing that, Rugal and Saisyu becomes stronger then their plyable counterparts? Cause the CPU versions are REALLY a bit stronger than the normal player version!

Tadeu Ferreira Nah, unfortunately that part doesn’t change, they’re still nerfed. I don’t even think this is really a code, it seems hard programmed into the game to permit an AI to deal more damage.
I recommend constantly powering up tho, that makes you stronger.

@@AvadaKedavra4172 Their damage is still fairly high no matter who's using them. The only nerf I can really think of is that the player may not have the AI's split-second, single-frame reaction times
