Thanks Dave! The new bridge is open as of Nov. 20 2022, ahead of schedule, and all trains are using it. However the project still requires double tracking through Sandpoint, that includes another bridge, modifications to the Northern Pacific/Amtrak depot platform and the UP diamond. As well as improving the existing 1905 NP bridge. BNSF expects this to be completed late summer of '23. At that point double track train traffic can truly begin through Sandpoint Idaho.
