I live in Baltimore Maryland and I wish there were dumpsters filled like this. There are so many homeless here and they live in tents all along the main roads. It breaks my heart. May you be blessed for all you both are doing. Many will be thankful.

I agree it's crazy all of this waste.
Great haul. FYI, just b/c the date is expired doesn't mean the product is no good anymore. Some items may not be as potent or flavorful as before their expiration date but they are still good. (Excluding medicine and some health and beauty products, of course.)
Very true. We were just concerned because the mint candy were over a year old.

I love that you donate, seeing a dumpster overflowing with clothes with tags and thinking to myself "omg, so many people really could use help with clothes, especially back to school clothes" I live in a military town and to make weight on the moving expenses that military will cover so they dont pay for difference... CRAZY NICE STUFF gets thrown out. So thats where I started... I built up my garage full of tubs of clothes, shoes, shampoos and anything else liquid that cant ship. After one spring and summer i had enough and started a clothing closet. I made cards and put them on windshields at the welfare office and put them in flyers at wic office. It makes me mad how goodwill taxes so much for donations, they dont help anybody, they are a glorified thrift store

I love that you give away most of what you find but use some of the stuff to put other stuff in, such as put the bags inside each other, that way you can carry more,or ring some boxes with you.

I used to be a manager at the dollar general. The company sends lists of things that are supposed to be taken out of the store because it has been there for so long and has not sold. Thats why you find that stuff in there! Also, foods that will expire within 1-2 weeks are thrown out.

I'm so glad you donate most of what you haul. It makes me sick to see what these stores toss. If people like you don't find it then it ends up in a landfill. So many needy families can use the food (even the treats can brighten their day) and the clothes that get tossed. These retailers should be ashamed of themselves. Keep up the good work.
