I remember perfectly that when I was young, we ate a lot of blackberries by using our hands and harvers them everywhere near the roads in our forest village. It was totally free. Now, 25 years later I'm living in one of the biggest cities in Hungary and yesterday I paid 2 euros for 125 grams of blackberries in Interspar (16 euros per kilo). I plan to leave the city, buy a house in my old village and plant few blackberries and other fruits for sure. It is not normal that my 8 years old son has only few chances in every year to taste such fruits.
I hope you do. Introduce him to the country on weekends and help him learn to love new surroundings

In the Pacific NW 3 hrs from Vancouver Canada, Washington state. My mother sent us out to pick berries everyday during berry season-black berries (big and small), raspberries (yellow and Red), boysenberries, huckleberries. She would juice them, half were juice were canned for the winter months. In the summer we drank the juice, made homemade ice cream or sherbet, she made pies as she would lemon meringue or any other fruit pie, thickening the juice, no seeds. I too moved to the city, short season available, not. The variety of berries. I never liked the seeds in either black or bosen berries.

I had never seen this video before until now, a year later. This is yet another treasure from your archives! This reminds me of when I was a little girl and we’d pick berries alongside the river. By the time we were done, my hands were all sticky from the berries I had picked and you could see how many berries I had eaten because my lips were blue! You make it look so effortless, but I’m sure it took several hours to pick two buckets of berries. It is so peaceful to be out there in the woods, you forget about everything and just breathe the fresh air. You are so blessed to live how you live; I hope you know that your entire audience only dreams of being able to live like you do! The way you cooked the first batch of berries in water and sugar, would be perfect poured on some ice cream! I can almost taste it now. And that pie! That’s what you call a pie! When you cook, you don’t mess around, you go for the gusto! Beautiful mountainside scenery in this video. God bless you and don’t ever forget that we love your work!

У нас в Крыму очень вкусная. Мы, когда были молодые, собирали ягоду, надев костюмы пожарных. Такие заросли, колючки, вся обдерешься, до крови. Но какая вкуснятина, что компот, что варенье, желе. А сколько пользы для здоровья 😄

В детстве, сбор ягод считалось как наказание. Сейчас считаю как блаж, никто не трогает, дело не торопливое, успеваешь подумать о хорошем (ведь на свежем воздухе), и расслабится.
А наесться? Главное ягод этих вдоволь наешься!

Тоже помню в детстве на даче терпеть не могла собирать ягоды , а сейчас езжу специально на фермы и собираю урожай свежих ягод с таким удовольствием !
