The thing is, no matter how much they deny it, the game has an EOMM not a SBMM. The matchmaking is literally deciding upfront, whether you have a chance at winning or not based on your previous performance. And that is an absolute bullshit.

No lie lol… it’s hard to not notice when you are on fire one match, then the next you get solo’d in a trio or mysteriously your 3rd ‘mate is blank lol.
I mean that’s exactly how arenas played every single time I solo queued and I knew for sure it was like that in BR because they hardly ever tweaked arenas. We can’t even see our teammates rank anymore now so just know it’s getting worse.

the only problem i have is that me and my boys are silver 4 consistently going against master and diamond players in competitive. it just feels impossible to rank up if we aren't able to play against people our rank.
Felt that, still in gold this season fighting kids with 20k-100k kills on a single legend. Isnt fair at all.

agree, wasn't really that big of a reward incentive to play ranked previously (still isn't), but at least I felt accomplished when I made it to masters and diamond. seemed like it was always within reach if I played well enough. now we're in bronze facing the same players, and there's really no point of slogging through ranks that are gonna be just as hard as my D1 matches trying to get to masters.

This is my biggest issue with it now. Why even put me in silver or gold when I’m constantly fighting plat-masters? I understand we can’t have rats getting to diamond+ but it has to be some middle ground. Also bring back KP at all placements!

They need to maintain previous season rank to some degree and match by a hidden MMR… like every other ranked system in existence does but NOOOOO full reset for some godforsaken reason

@@joshkmaillet I only find fun in TDM and Control after being shit on 6 times in a row in pubs due to EOMM. They should go to SBMM instead, atleast the games will be more consistent then.

People are just blind to the fact that the mechanical aspect of this game is not what defines the SBMM, its the stats. You don't get placed for being able to master all the movement in the game. Timmy you are a beast

The easy fix would be just to remove sbmm from pubs I 100% agree. Random matchmaking. Some games you dominate, others you get dominated. I just don’t see it ever happening so I wish they’d find a middle ground and totally separate duo stacks and 3 stacks from solo queuers
It worked well enough on halo reach, everybody had a great ping, queue times were low. Some games you got stomped, some games you did the stomping.
i’m sorry, but there is no RBMM only SBMM. From my experience playing in SG servers, every game in gold has at least 10 master/pred teams, it is extremely unbalanced

I started as silver and being paired with masters and diamond rank. I even seen apex preds on some rare occasions as a silver player and gold. When I was in platinum I expected to see those but not when I’m in silver
I’m m pretty sure they go by your KD ratio for matchmaking
When your saying that preds should get into games with rookies in pubs is easy to say when your one of the top players… people like me who are on the bottom shouldn’t have to play ranked for a chill game

3:49 the problem is that there is SBMM in Ranked. So I’m facing people who are in what they see as a high diamond ranked match, but me, in the EXACT SAME MATCH, I’m in a bronze match. If I’m in a bronze match, I should be facing bronze players.
They did this to prevent smurfing. But I do agree that it's pretty stupid because it takes 10x as long to rank up now.
No MMR for trios, rank=mmr for ranked. Im fine with loose mmr too, like maybe top half bottom half separation. But i dont enjoy only playing preds and masters in trios all the time, i like to relax sometimes
As a player who hasn't even reached silver, I would love if someone could explain why I get Master-level or Platinum-level players. It annoys me that my friends say "Oh, ranked has SBMM, you'll get paired with people your level", then I get killed by some OP Plat-level Pathy or Horizon who just decided that bullying me and my team was fun. Yeah, 'Skill-based'. Last time I checked, I wasn't even close to those ranks.

For some strange reason, when I was on gold rank, in a ranked match, one of my teammate was the apex predator of the season before, which is like season 14
Im still stuck at gold 1 right now since i can only play every sunday for 5 hours and most of my ranked match team are bronze 5

I’ve been very good at video games, however when there’s people with crazy pc set ups that run the game faster than just an average guy on a regular set up or ps5 you lose just because of how fast their game runs compared to your skill level. Even if I was amazingly good at the game but don’t have enough money to buy all the crazy things in gaming that make you better you kinda just learn to care less overall of who you play or what you play
And I’m very good at apex and have been very good at most shooter games have played many high dollar wagers and have played against many am pros back in the day I miss playing when everyone was on the same level and that’s when you’d know who’s good now everything is on internet and how fast your pc runs shit is mad lame and not enjoyable as a person who’s been playing games since 7 and at a high level sad to say I’m one of those people who get killed by children now on some of these games I just wanted to vent y’all lmao I miss being a kid sometimes I hope y’all enjoy it fr those were the most satisfying moments in life playing with your friends and feeling adrenaline that a rollercoaster would give you. Love the gaming community fr.

I have been stuck in Bronze for the last few seasons. I don't remember the last time that someone who killed me didn't have at least one Masters badge player on their team. Whatever anyone says, that's for sure broken as fuck.

Dude... When you're already in the top 1% it obviously wouldn't even matter if matchmaking is broken. Timmy probably can't even tell and wouldn't know the difference. Most people aren't even talking about pubs though, for ranked there's a clear difference in matchmaking compared to previous seasons that can't be disputed. I was seeing Season 12 Master players in my mix of Silver/Gold party... It doesn't work the same way, and I think that's because of the MMR changes.
I have yet to see any of the "conclusive data" that people refer to when they say that SBMM/EOMM makes people more satisfied with the game overall. Often times people simply say "hurr durr it's a team game you're meant to triple-stack", while not understanding that by doing so you're effectively avoiding the system people have a problem with altogether.
In ranked at least you have your MMR to lean back on, but in pubs? In pubs you're at the mercy of EOMM (Engagement Optimized Matchmaking) which simply do not care about player enjoyment at all. All it wants is to keep you playing for as long as possible so that you end up buying cosmetics. Apex Legends is a store front. Nothing more.
There's a reason why you're fed games with the odds stacked in your favor whenever you've lost too much, because it's a pity game. You're supposed to keep playing, so they give you a dopamine hit. In the same way you're given two sub par teammates and expected to carry by sweating your balls off most of the time. It's not fun or entertaining.
For someone like Timmy it's obviously not the case, because he's a top tier Apex god. For those of us at Gold, Plat or even Diamond level it's a huge pain to have to deal with teammates at lower brackets, because they are frankly too stupid to contribute in any meaningful way. Because of that I think of my teammates as bait or simply as "enemies I can't kill". This has served me well.
Meh i mean there's a hidden skill rating aswell. I'm in silver 2 Solo Q but playing vs Master and Diamonds. But it's fine really cause more fun to pwn them x) Great content

All I ever want is ppl to just play. Idc if im matched with/against pros, just don’t rage quit during the drop or insta-quit when you get knocked. I’ve won on 2 man squads after ppl drop bc they’re salty. Just play
in ranked now u dont vs ur ranked. They changed it, its mmr based. you can be a silver player returned to the game after like 3 months, but if your mmr isnt hyper decayed you can and will still play into lobbys that are filled with current diamond+ players/previous masters/preds. And Vise versa, you could have been a player who historically couldnt get out of plat but now you can easily get to masters because you will never play players who historically would gate keep diamonds and masters. Ranked queue is absolutely broken and aweful to play as a casual player. You basically have to be 3 stacking and hard grinding it because the climb is slow to begin with from the RP changes and now you cant even get through the reset ranked because it doesnt match you based on ranked
I agree in ranked you play your rank but in public matches you play anyone. People complain to much, you either good at the game or practice until you are. Enjoy getting better at the game as you progress

someone told me its in the patch notes that you will get way worse players on your team if you're good you are purposely put on the teams of absolute degenerates to "balance the matchmaking" while you go against a pred triple stack

Your reaction time is a nonfactor if you are on controller because rotational aa and if you are mnk like me, then you gotta get better. you cannot ask for everyone else to get worse, or to play only against worse players while progressing to higher ranks, and yet that is exactly what they did with ranked and why the game is dying right now.

I just feel like for once, Reddit had it right: make pre-formed three stacks fight other pre-formed three stacks. It removes the threat of triple stack preds hardfucking the casuals, allows an opportunity for anyone to win genuinely, and the preds can still come in and fuck shit up with whatever team they want against more fair competition. There should never have been SBMM or EOMM in pubs but now they’ve made it an environment where the preds get ganged up on alone, or get stream sniped in stacks, or the casuals are getting run through like tissue. It’s not a fair or fun game for anyone right now as a result. Solo q trios or stacked trios in pubs should be a thing.

Console definitely feels more sweaty for me. In pubs i always face off against 3 stack preds and in ranked I get random teammates. I'm silver a get diamond teammates. Facing random ranks. 3 strikes messed up everything
Unfortunately this is not how ranked works, you regularly get put with people way below and way above your rank, if you’re in gold you could be put in a trio with two silvers and be playing against a whole team of platinum or diamond players, or it could be the other way round with you playing with people way better than you and you just shit on everyone! It’s so broken

Yep, pubs shoudn't have sbmm and should prioritize connection, and ranked should be as you said, enough with that hidden mmr bs going right now.

What’s the point of casual levels if a level 50 gets matched up with a level 240 triple prestige?
having something to grind for? being able to see numbers go up? :) thats all. level/rank doesnt matter in this game.

@@tdawg719 the skill diff between lvl 2000 players is literally plat to pred. level in apex isnt bound to skill but only time spent.
mmr is the better indicator since it changes with the current performance.

I don’t understand in every game in casual you vs any rank and any player and in ranked you vs any player in your rank but if you are performing well then the matchmaking puts you up against better players. This just seems fair and I don’t know why people love complaint

The faster that everyone acknowledges that 99.9% of us will NEVER be on the same level as Timmy is when that same percentage of tryhard toxic playerbase finally simmers down and the game becomes enjoyable again. Bro, I'm a low diamond level player, I haven't really played much of this season at all, and I'm in bronze, and I'm getting destroyed every game by teams that work very well with each other. It's unbearable, not fun in any way to the point of that I have no interest in climbing out of bronze or silver.
That's because smurfing has ruined the lower tiers of ranked. Apex doesn't do anything about it. Could easily just ban players getting 20 kill bombs on brand new accounts but nah.

to be more exact: you need a second pc, a second mail address and a second ea account now to still be able to boost/smurf. otherwise every new account you log in from your pc will be linked to the account with the highest mmr/your main :) now you know. enjoy the game.

bro its not rank vs rank in ranked. i play solo ranked and most of the time my team looks like plat, gold, silver or even bronze. if we fight a plat stack its over, they die instantly.
