Once a number is purchased, how do we make a call with that number? Will we need a different app for a soft phone or are we able to do that through Twilio's console?

You’re right. It’s free trial. I had someone help me with the title and thumbnail and I agree it’s not free to have the number long term as one would expect. I’ll get this changed. Sorry about that. If you need to set up the rest of the phone system I’ll make a video on how I delegate it out and where to get it done

I think it’s like 30 days or so… might as well get on the paid version. It’s still very cheap
