Hello Vic. This is a bit late but I realised what the deer here is actually trying to find. I remember a poem(?) by Kabir which talked about this. It is as follows.: कस्तूरी कुंडलि बसै मृग ढूंढ़े बन माहि। ऐसे घटी घटी राम हैं दुनिया देखै नाहि॥ It means that the deer smells the deer musk (kasturi) which resides in its navel. After smelling it, the deer wanders around trying to find the sweet smell of its musk, not knowing that it resides inside him. Such is also the case of Ram where the world tries to find him everywhere except inside themselves, hence unable to find him. I think this is from where the concept of wandering aimlessly to find something like a deer comes about this Nakshatra. Love the work you are doing. Please never stop.

this division on animals looking down as herbivores and animals looking up as carnivores is not completely true.there are giraffes and elephants that are eating leaves from trees also panda, koala etc...and then there are frugivores
