Is it me or am I detecting a sort of animosity between Elton and the hosts in the first minute? Maybe I don't have proper context, but it just seemed that way to me, and I was like "Jeeeez!"
He was talking about that tour, reg strikes back, and that tour only. there was no Benny,yellow brick, or rocket man. Btw yellow brick road didn’t return for about 10 years in a Billy Joel tour, so he really did leave it behind. So he said what he meant
He was having hair problems around 1973 since something (hair dye) caused him to begin balding. In the mid 70's he received a hair transplant that did not work a 100% so the hats covered it. In 1985 he tried to experiment by adding extentions or growing his hair out, it lasted for a year. In 1987 he was fed up with the press trying to catch him without a hat so he dyed it in a blond/white color and shockingly it made him look older. After his rehab in 1990 he washed off the dye and in 1992 he decided to try out a hair weave, it worked for a few years until it began failing again so he just got a toupee and since then he had no issues.
This was probably around the worst time of his life, regarding his fight with The Sun, his voice problems,his marriage not working, and his drink and drugs problems getting out of control.But he turned it all around a couple of years later.

@@claresherman2278 i read that in his autobiography. Makes me so sad that he had to go what he had to go through.
