- Highlights of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Parent Club 100th Anniversary celebrations. The event took place at The Wag Zone in Chisipite, Harare, Zimbabwe on the 13th of August 2022.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a large scenthound and sighthound dog breed bred in the Southern Africa region. Its forebears can be traced to the semi-domesticated ridged hunting and guardian dogs of the Khoikhoi. These were interbred with European dogs by the early colonists of the Cape Colony of southern Africa. Wikipedia
Congrats to 100 years. 😊 Love my Ridgeback. Although she's a mix, she's truly a Ridgeback. Loyal, faithful, sweet, and protective. ❤
I've had ridgebacks since 1995, got the first one by mistake (long story) and been in love with them ever since. All my kids have grown up with a ridgeback by their side . Marvelous breed and i praise the day we made that mistake. Love and miss loving beautiful friends but never forgotten - Conan, Honey, Shona and Megan. Xxxx

So lovely to see all these wonderful RR and dog owners that love them ❤ Many hugs from a RR owner in Sweden , the unfortunately lost our bit last week in blood cancer 😢 But we are already looking into finding the right puppy RR for our family. R just can't live without a RR in our family ❤

I have a Ridgeback x Lab. Learning alot about this breed.
Got my first one in 1980. had six Rhodies over the years. Our last two - sisters from successive litters, both aged out at 12 years. Would love to get another one, but the vets in our area (Long Island, NY) have become predatory, taking advantage of people's love for their pets.

A Ridgeback and a Jack Russell Terrier is the perfect combination , mine was named Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie, the Ridgeback would always discipline the Jack Russell.
