    Thank you for sharing! I worked at a garden center and the Robins would often make nests in our lilac standards (customers weren't just getting a lilac tree but a family of robins with their purchase!), and one year along with a Robin's nest in one of the lilac standards, there was also a nest of Cardinal chicks in one of our arborvitae shrubs. Well, the Cardinal mama wasn't nearly as attentive to her kiddos as the Robin mama was to hers. In fact, the Robin mama was doing double duty. Besides watching her own chicks, she often watched over the baby cardinals. Which was really fascinating when you think about it. Anyways, when I learned about the Cardinal nest, I wanted to take a quick peek at it (not bug them or hang out too long, just a quick peek), well Robin MAMA was watching me LIKE A HAWK! She even kind of buzzed me as I moved closer to the arborvitae! I took a quick peek and assured Mama Robin I wasn't going to hurt them, and then said "so please don't hurt ME!" lol! Nature is awesome. As are your roses!

    Beautiful video. Very relaxing and soothing after a night shift. Only been home half an hour and already been out with the Felco secateurs.

    Olga…. Your video’s are the best! You’ve answered many of my pruning questions. I never know what to do with my floribundas with so many blossoms in one cluster. So now I do! Also your explanation of going to the 5th leaf was stellar. I’ve often wondered why we do this! Now I know. Tu my fellow gardener!

    Olga, if the robin is getting angry with you, there is probably a nest nearby.

    Stunning Lady of Shalott! How old is the shrub? Also, how old is your Boscobel? I just planted DA roses this year and can't wait to see this beauty!

      Lady of Shalott is more than 10 years old. Boscobel is a baby, plus transplanted last year, maybe 3-4...

    Good day Olga, a quick question: my 15 year old New Dawn climber is suddenly very yellow at the top, could I have over fertilized? Buds are swelling but looks sad. Thanks

    • @OlgaCarmody
      @OlgaCarmody  28 дней назад

      Hi Jill, oh my, it can be overloving indeed. If you suspect that you overdid the fertilizer, go ahead and remove as much of it as possible (it might not be possible) and water that New Dawn, let water run through for some time. Take a break and do it again. Hope it helps, your aim is to wash away the fertilizer from the soil. If it is slow release, just find it and remove it.
