I just received my Pro 5i and I didnt want to expend more to get the Pro 5. Im really happy with it, and you sold me on your benchmarks on earlier vids. Your non gamer focus in your content is really Nice. I will mainly use it for Revit, AutoCAD, math software and time step integrations on python. Its a bonus i can play diablo 2 resurrected. Its a massive upgrade from my Dell g5 15 from 2017...
7745HX is still better than 12gen i7 and even equivalent to 12gen i9 in most cases which is pretty impressive tbh and will be more than sufficient for most of the users. I am quite convinced to go with the 7745HX/rtx4060 and I am hoping it'd suffice me for the next 5 years (for coding/gaming). I am gonna invest that saved $100 into a qhd 2k 165Hz monitor.

You forgot one important thing mate. Undervolting. Can you undervolt that AMD chip, because intel does not allow you to undervolt the H series CPU's anymore. Undervolting can indeed boost performance and lower temps, something kind of important on a laptop. If that 7740hx can be undervolted, it could potentially match or even surpass the non undervoltable intel CPU, making intel's CPU's kinda moot.
I just got an order of legion pro 5 with ryzen 7 and 4070. I use the computer mostly to work with GIS and SketchUp. What do you think about the choice of the Ryzen version, based on my usage?
I have the Legion 5 Pro with 7945HX (can be custom configured here in Germany), it does 34000 in CB23. Cost was about 2100 Euro (1 TB SSD, 32 GB, 4060)
@gunters63 Hope AMD have better optimisations to get a better battery life unplugged, as intel HX cpu can go upwards to 9 hours of battery life this gen
@@lsp6032 They can't, maybe if you undervolt the CPU a bit and reduce things like display refresh rate and turn off keyboard backlit. But anyway nobody's gonna get a HX cpu for battery life. Get the Ryzen 9 7940HS cpu if you like battery life, it's a fricking beast
Intel is on Intel 7 manufacturing process node while AMD is using TSMC 4 or 5 nm. This is a very impressive showing from Intel. It is also why the efficiency can't compete with AMD Zen 4.
For the Premiere export benchmarks, do you have any idea why the 2023 G14 with the 7940HS performs so poorly Perhaps due to it's stock single-channel memory config vs last year's half-soldered option? Or do you think it's due to thermals/power limit of that chassis having more of an effect?
I like effeciency and balanced performance for a laptop over performance, specially when using the laptop unplugged for office tasks! but for gaming you will need the same laptop to be powerful enough to enjoy your games while it's plugged then. laptop never replace a desktop.

Hi Ben just wanted to know the benchmarking software used for solidworks as I currently own a ASUS G14 6700s. Also would really love if you could include catia in your tests
intel's struggling with efficiency in part cause they've been stuck on 10nm but for their 14th gen *mobile specifically* they're going for 4nm which would bring efficiency improvement in itself on top of architectural improvements, their target is 50% better efficiency while being at least as powerful as 13th gen so it's something to keep an eye on for the end of the year imo
@@souvikmondal6161 Nodes names havent really reflected the actually hardware for almost a decade now. It's all marketing terms technically. But yes, intel did do a sneaky and start calling their 10nm Intel 7 so their 7nm became intel 4

Hi 😅 any feedback ?
Just a note that you made a mistake with graphs
There highlighted one is 5 pro from last year
Exactly. He says RTX 4070, but shows 3070ti.
Having bought a legion pro 7i, the performance of the 13th gen processors is outstanding.
What about temps?

7745hx but I runs much hotter
