@Somnivore7 Always felt Widler had the heart. He's been in war after war with Stivern and King Kong. He protested the stoppage in the 2nd fight. I wouldn't call the excuses and accusations of cheating character development. He even suggested that his skull was cracked from a egg weight. Come on.
I listened to it on the radio. Was in disbelief when I heard Fury had been knocked down. They'd only just finished talking about the knockdown he'd scored. Crazy experience indeed.
This battle was hard to watch at times, with Wilder seemingly plodding on willpower alone. The bomber had immense heart, but Fury had the weight and the strategy to decisively win this one.
@camuf1340 Fury didn't get robbed in their first fight lol, Fury got knocked down, and then he got knocked out. Just because Fury got off the canvas within the 10 count, this doesn't change the fact that he got punched unconscious before then, becoming obviously unconscious means he was supposed to be given the KO loss. Also the count was an absurdly long 10 count which is illegal btw, when anyone of us count to 10, we try to replicate 10 seconds on a clock for a reason, so yes a 10 count is supposed to be done close to 10 seconds. In the second fight Wilders water was in fact drugged, you can go check the official fight footage if you want, Fury's water is clear and shiny like it's supposed to be under bright lights, but Wilders water is ''somehow'' cloudy like something has been added to it. In the third fight Fury grappled for 75% of the fight, this is a clear violation of the excessive clinch rule which is an official Marcus of Queensbury rule, so again Fury should of been given a loss. Regardless of how things have gone, Fury has essentially lost to Wilder 3 times already, this is why Wilder is still in good spirits even though people expected Wilder to be depressed lol. So yeah Fury is so much worse then Wilder at boxing, and no amount of mental gymnastics from you people is going to change that :P
This fight happened in 2021, right after the COVID emergency. It gave boxing a new life, one of the greatest fights ever that changed the landscape for real.
One of the issues with being an extremely dominant physical fighter with excellent power in his fists is that they don't get enough experience fighting on their back foot because nobody can challenge them enough, or pressure them enough to keep them from moving forward constantly. It isn't until an extremely skilled boxer with a good chin meets them in the ring that they finally get some experience with moving backward without purely being defensive. If Wilder learned how to consistently fight moving backward, he would be even scarier as a fighter, but learning techniques in the gym, and actually pulling it off in the ring are two different things. I think if Wilder had lost earlier in his career against a top level boxer/puncher, he might have improved that aspect of his skillset a little bit more. He certainly showed that he is very much capable of doing pretty much anything in the ring physically, it's just about experience in doing those things.
Maybe I'm misremembering but I think he actually got a KO moving backwards after this fight too. He definitely has the intelligence to improve and up his skill level.
I would add to that this happens because 1: most fighters who rely on one aspect of boxing(toughness, power, speed etc) get complacent and don’t drill fundamentals and it cost them later on in their careers. 2: they ALWAYS try to win in sparring they don’t work on being pressured and fighting backwards, being the pressure fighter and fighting forward, swarming, counter punching etc… they associate their ego with their “style” and put a self limiting nerf on themselves when they can be much more than a right hand or a left hook or a bull.
Wilder broke his right hand with the punch at 10:30. Similarly, Fury went into this fight without properly recovering from a bone spur surgery in his left elbow. Both fighters had their best tools taken away from them. Wilder his right, Fury his jab. This fight really came down to ring IQ and determination.
@@sus425 Wilder will knock Usyk and Joshua out with ease lol. Wilder doesn't really need to box, that right hand will connect on anyone's chin even if he's blindfolded.
This is the fight that got me into boxing and martial arts in general. Absolutely inspiring fight. Wilder went out on his shield but his excuses were tiring
ALL TIME CLASSIC. It's one for the history books. Well done Wilder and Fury, people will be talking about this fight for over a hundred years. Not bad.
@CTS230 naw boxing historians will be talking about this forever hell they jake dempsey vs jess Willard is 100+ years old and its in grimy black and white. Wilder and fury without a doubt have one of the best heavyweight trilogies between them with to many great moments to forget.
@@nelsonperez9546 Agreed. Anyone who doesn't see the third fight as one for the history books either doesn't know boxing or is just a butthurt Wilder crybaby. So much drama, so much courage and it ended with a shattering knockout.
not many people would give Wilder the credit he deserves for this trilogy like this, but i don't think people realize that they're only taking away from Fury's accomplishment by demeaning wilders ability.
This fight is unbelievable. I don’t like Wilder at all, but the fact that he survived as long as he did whilst being completely compromised on all fronts is ridiculous. I don’t think a single other heavyweight in history could have taken all of those punches and Fury’s dirty boxing + weight for all that time. It’s easy to underestimate how brutal getting laid on by a dude as huge as Fury is for a couple seconds, let alone minutes. Fury had the perfect gameplan, and it would have ended anyone else much more quickly. What a fight.
@@soundwavesuperior28 Maybe George Foreman can KO him, and Holyfield can outpoint him. A young Mike Tyson, maybe. I'm not convince about the others. I don't like the way Ali fights. Dances too much. Fury is bigger and heavier than all of them, plus he can box and has great stamina.
I 100% believe lennox, bowe, joe, Liston and a younger vitali or even wlad would destroy Tyson fury. Tyson fury is a great boxer but not one I’d call among the greatest
@@jcpenny3606 You don’t like how Ali fights, one of the greatest boxers of all time. . .? Pray tell, jcpenny3606, tell me what you don’t necessarily like about Muhammad Ali’s brilliant footwork. Tell me what you don’t like about the way he weaves punches like nothing. Tell me what you don’t like about his light, tiring, piercing punching style that brought down Patterson, Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Quarry, Shavers, Norton, etc. Not only did Ali have smoother footwork, better stamina, and better heart, he was also more accomplished than Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury has fought Deontay Wilder, which is his crowning achievement; Wilder is a hard punching bum with no boxing skills or significant victories. Fury’s record is inflated. As compared to Ali, who fought the likes of Williams, Quarry, Liston, Patterson, Frazier, Norton, Lyle, Young, Foreman, etc., and won the bulk of all of his hours against these all time greats. Ali competed in the single greatest golden era in boxing HISTORY, while out of his prime, and there’s a reasonable case for him being the greatest of all time consequently. I’m more of an Usyk fan than a Fury or Wilder fan, but those guys put on a good show in their fights. It was refreshing to see Wilder trying to use more boxing techniques than his power punches, and it was refreshing to see Fury have to dig in and adjust his strategy throughout the fight. Lots of cool moments.
First thing that jumps of the screen is there size these men are super heavyweights let's be real and because of there pure size and power alone made this so fun to watch also both men had hearts champions and warriors and would not quit to me that speaks volumes these guys were landing heavy punishing shots and just kept going after each other much respect to both of them for all 3 classic heavyweight fights they both deserve the utmost respect wealth and appreciation I know I give them there respect and thanks also I wish them both good health God bless
This fight had the drama of a Hollywood movie, back and forth knockdowns, changing game plans every couple rounds, neither fighter willing to give up unless they were dead on the canvas. All time classic.
Thanks again for the great breakdown. I was privileged to grow up in the Ali vs Frazier era and while I don't think this fight matched any in that all-time trilogy in terms of skill, in terms of stylistic matchup, momentum shifts, all-out action, pure drama and non-stop heart from both warriors, this great, great grudge match was an absolute equal to any heavyweight throwdown ever. A true Classic!
David Christian, you're simply the best Bro! You editing and interpretation is topnotch. I really appreciate your work. Now, this trilogy between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is a masterpiece! Both fighters gave it all they had. This last fight is badass class act! Wilder showed courage and doggedness but Fury was a raging bull who ended up inflicting Wilder's second humiliation to assert himself. One of the greatest heavyweight boxing fights for me. Next is Terence Crawford vs Erroll Spence. Both are my favorites and if I could, I won't let them fight each other. Nonetheless, I will like Errol to get it. It sure going to be an humdinger of a fight.
I'm sorry but this was the perfect boxing match the drama, the technique, the brutality, the knockdowns, the comebacks it is everything you would want entertainment wise in a heavyweight boxing match I truly can't think of a more fun boxing match to watch
Wilder was epic in this fight, a stoic warrior who gave every ounce of determination and unwillingness to give in, Fury brought the very best out of him but it wasn't enough, a gift of a boxing match for generations to come.
Fight of The Year for 2021. Surprised it lasted as long as it did. Fury took some big shots from Wilder and somehow just outfought him. Looking at their physiques, you'd assume Wilder would be in better shape but he was running on fumes by the 7th round. Great analysis as usual. Fury did adapt better as the battle went on and the attrition took it's toll worse for Wilder.
Anyone would wear out if a fat guy insisted on jumping on top of them for a couple rounds. That been said, in boxing you have to use the tools at your disposal and bend the rules as far as they will go just like fury does
Deontay Wilder is so underrated. His power is a real threat to any other heavyweight in the world including Usyk and AJ. Fury had to enter a special survival mode in order to beat him.
Even as an mma guy I gotta admit a top heavyweight title fight will always be more entertaining than any mma fight. Such a shame that the top guys avoid each other so much . Then again maybe the reason these events are legit like a Hollywood movie are because it’s so hard to actually make two top heavyweights fight in their prime.
Spot on. Heavyweight Boxing is the ultimate main division in all combat sports. The big fights are happening more since this original comment. And now Boxing is better than MMA.
As someone who only watches mma I don’t keep up with boxing, but ur commentary was so awe inspiring bro this fight plus that almost made me shed a tear, incredible
I absolutely loved this trilogy. It was compelling, entertaining and filled with displays of grit and determination by both guys. Brilliant look back, thanks my man 💥💥💥
Say what you want about Wilder, but he put nearly 40 guys out of action in just at many fights with that right hand, before facing off with a guy who could actually get up from that punch and keep fighting back. Fury has certainly not endeared himself to fans since with his recent antics, but most "fans" tend to have a short memory. He took punches from Wilder that would have dropped 99.99% of men on this planet, got up and returned fire. No matter what you think of him personally, the man is an absolute beast in that square ring.
The wilder knock downs seem to come from Fury abandoning his gameplan and looking for the early knock out. As soon as Fury stuck to his plan, Wilder had no chance. A slow, methodical mauling is still a mauling. Round 8 onwards was just the plan coming to fruition, hearing blow after heavy blow land on wilder, it's just awesome. I love the way Fury fights, up close and dirty or jab and move, not afraid to take a hit in order to give a heavier one back. Respect to Wilder for becoming a willing human punchbag but he was totally outclassed here.
Just reminds you how good Fury is. Wish he could cut the antics and fight Usyk but the man is actually special, no doubt. He’s so skilled and tough it’s ridiculous. Wilder on the other hand has underrated skill, faking a double left jab before swinging the right caught Fury off guard. If the proposed match between Wilder and AJ is true, I see Wilder smoking him in less than 5 rounds.
A fight than not many wanted to see it again, thinking nothing would be of any change.. the results was the same but boy oooh boy, it was the best one would have hoped 🔥🔥🔥👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Great work David. Thanks as always! Any chance you can do anything on Volkanovski he is a monster technician would love your insight. Also dustin vs justin coming up!! Come on you know it deserves some love that fight!
Fury couldn't take Wilder's punches... So he smothered away his stamina so he couldn't punch anymore. Wilder put forth a great effort, but he just lacked the fight IQ to keep up with Fury. It was still a great callback to the golden age of boxing, and both men put forth their effort. Great fight, and genius analysis.
Fury took Wilder's punches many times... are you blind? and Fury didn't smother nothing, Wilder just has a bad defence and bad footwork, he was knocked down as early as the third round in the second and third fight, literally after a few minutes of fighting, it's just more excuses, Fury is just the better fighter, plain and simple, we didnt hear these excuses when Wilder was knocking out 400lb bin men...
@@Adrian-cw8yu Are you blind, or did you not read my comment? Wilder almost knocked Fury out... Twice. So Fury's strategy... I assume we we're watching the same analysis, was to wrestle Wilder's stamina away until he got tired. No shade on Fury; if it worked it worked. He couldn't keep taking those punches, so he found a way around it. Wilder wasnt even fighting back anymore in the last round because he was exhausted because Fury was putting close to 300 lbs on him. It is what it is. Wilder couldn't box; he's just a more professional Kimbo Slice. He met someone who could box, and who had the chin to withstand enough until he figured out a strategy. I'll give Wilder credit for fighting smarter this time, but he couldn't adapt. Now we just need your boy to stop dodging Usyk so we can end this weird cycle of heavyweights.
Wilder is terrible at fighting on his back foot. Fury learned after almost getting knocked out in the First fight. If he presses forward the whole fight, it smothered Wilder's Power.
Wilder's tough as nails, but I can't help but feeling his lack of fundamentals left him without answers on defense in certain situatons. Especially as the fight wore on.
Seen this in Buffalo Wild Wings. In LA with the LA dodgers game currently on by the time wilder dropped fury nobody was watching the baseball game anymore. It’s was one of the best bar sports moments I ever had.
After Wilder’s endless excuses I lost all respect for him. Then I watched this fight and he gained it back. Been a long time since I have seen so much heart in the ring. Fury is the King but man Wilder gave him a run for his money!
As a big Wilder fan, this fight both made me so sad and so proud, dare I say happy, at the same time. Sad obviously because my guy got destroyed by the one guy he really did not wanted to lose to again, but also proud because it wasn't a one sided beating, Fury had to eat punches and throw them back harder than ever before in his career. I think most of the world of boxing was ready to consider Wilder as an afterthought after a second loss to Fury, but after the way that trilogy fight went out, everybody went to bed that night having some sort of respect for that man.
true, he lost alot of respect from me over the second fight and his antics, but he showed more heart in that final trilogy than i've ever seen in a match before, and he certainly didn't get completely dominated like i expected either, he had multiple almost win-moments, easily the best boxing match i've ever witnessed.
wilder is so bad at boxing (skill wise) its crazy how he relies on almost exclusively chin and power and almost beat tyson fury who is one of the most skillful heavyweights of all time
@@rickydanielson7953 wilder improved massively in the third, but tyson was in his top form and has a huge advantage on large opponents, his only real weakness is guys like Usyk which is why he lied and doged him. Wilder put in the work and became a very good boxer, he just got outclassed and outmatched
Watching that 3rd fight again and how much damage Fury walked through and also delivered , it makes me laugh that people think somehow Usyk (being shorter and less powerful) will somehow stop this new style Fury has.
It’s not about Usyk stopping him. Its about Usyk taking advantage of Fury’s slow feet and deteriorating defense. Even Fury’s uncle said Usyk will be Fury’s toughest fight to date. Tyson Fury could very well be outboxed by Usyk. Unless Fury puts in a helluva camp and gets back to using his feet as well as his head movement.
@victoriagonzalez4559 - since when does Fury have slow feet?? Tell that to Klitchko, he couldn’t even hit him for 12 rounds. After the 1st wilder fight Fury changed his coach and style. But he still moves like a Cruiserweight. Usyk gets hit often as well. He probably has a better engine than Fury so his output will be higher than anyone he fights. But to say Fury is slow is crazy
@@richs4358 Fury’s feet haven’t been the same since the layoff. Fury knows this as well which is why he switched styles after the first Wilder fight in which he was almost KOd because of slower feet and reflexes. Then Otto Wallin gave him hell because of being a southpaw and AGAIN because of Fury’s slowed feet. After he realized he can’t dance away as fast anymore he switched styles. No more dancing away no more relying on foot speed reflexes. Fight coming forward , use your weight, mix in the defense when needed but no more fast feet Fury.
They are both stubborn and full of ego. Maybe we will see a fourth fight. Plus, Tyson sure doesn't make it easy LOL that guy never stops running his trap.
@@carson21211 True but it's all strategy by Fury, it's him doing what most other fighters do, trying to get in their opponent's head. If Wilder took it personally then it worked. Hopefully one day they can put history aside, like other great rivals have done.

The heavyweight division hasn’t had a fight like this since or since Klitchko and Joshua went at it. Now it’s gotten a lot softer but hopefully Wilder and Ruiz or Wilder and Joshua give us that feel. Ironically Wilder is apart of the best fights in the division right now.
I can actually see Wilder knocking every single heavyweights not named Tyson Fury, I'm telling everyone that since 2018. Usyk can outbox Wilder for 9-11 rounds until Wilder connect with one big shot, he's done, and same can be said to every heavyweights.
That's the fight I wanna see most. Usyk will win every round til he gets hit with that ballistic missile of a right hand, and goodnight sweet prince. Usyk will get retired that night.
@@brocklanders3616 people can feel free to call Wilder an unskilled fighter, and they are absolutely right about it. but this is heavyweight division where power matters more than skills, literally every ranked fighters in the division can outbox Wilder, until Wilder detonates that nuke.
I know it's hard for some punchers but I wish punchers like Wilder focused on body shots more. A lot of times, guys with decent chins can take the punch and their defense is predicated on defending head shots because they know their opponent will be primarily head hunting. Shifting to body punching forces them to guess on defense and can set up head shots. Wilder was never much of a body puncher so when Fury was hurt, he knew how to construct his defense and even when he was hurt, Fury knew Wilder wouldn't be going to the body so he could limit the damage.
Switch hitting. Those who can do it very well are always going to be the bane of everyone else in their division. And Fury does it naturally, and on the fly, in to the right angles. His rear power hand in one stance becomes a lead power hand the next second, and then back. Its RARE to see such a big man use old school techniques like parrying with the shoulders too, but he does it all day. Great chin, great gut (if big), great legs, strong power either hand lead or follow. Well schooled techniques either side. And he can feint you right out of your boots. People rag in Wilder for being some bum. But he ruled his division with a literal iron fist for years. It took a truly elite, special fighter to solidly dethrone him. He just had no answers with stiff power jabs hitting him from both sides. He always depended on the 1-2-3. And his 1 was never really all that good. His 2 was a nuk, until he ran in to a mountain of a chin. And his 3 was always an afterthought. And yet it was enough for a long time.
One of the best heavyweight fights in years it was one of the only fights ive seen in recent times where my mind was blown almost every minute although im not really big fans of either i am greatful for this trioligy that they gave us each fight was great and both men showed heart and determination not really ahown by in by other heavyweight champion in and aroujd this era

Similarly, Fury went into this fight without properly recovering from a bone spur surgery in his left elbow.
Both fighters had their best tools taken away from them. Wilder his right, Fury his jab. This fight really came down to ring IQ and determination.
Your last sentence is exactly why Fury won.
@@feliscoraxAnd why does that matter? Give both fighters their credit where it’s due.

ALL TIME CLASSIC. It's one for the history books. Well done Wilder and Fury, people will be talking about this fight for over a hundred years. Not bad.

Man this might be the greatest fight I've watched live!! 2 gladiators giving everything!!
I'll never forget that fight. It was magic, the type of fight that leaves you saying both these guys are greats of the sport. Was awesome
This fight had me at the edge of my seat. You are a great storyteller man loved this one
Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Bowe, all had the heart and strength necessary to defeat Fury
@@jcpenny3606
You don’t like how Ali fights, one of the greatest boxers of all time. .
And don’t ever doubt Ali’s heart. Just watch the Thrilla in Manilla, arguably the most grueling heavyweight fight in history aside from Holyfield vs Bowe 1 & Marciano vs Walcott.
@@jcpenny3606
Fury is bigger and heavier than Ruiz, AJ & Usyk both, yet is refusing to fight ANY one of them
The second fight was all about Tyson's half step, the third fight was all about Deontay's heart. Proper trilogy.
All 3 fights were about Fury's fighting IQ

I’m more of an Usyk fan than a Fury or Wilder fan, but those guys put on a good show in their fights. It was refreshing to see Wilder trying to use more boxing techniques than his power punches, and it was refreshing to see Fury have to dig in and adjust his strategy throughout the fight. Lots of cool moments.
This was such a fun fight to watch live. Especially after the first two. Easily a historical trilogy imho.

Normally I don't care for heavyweight fights but I watched this one live and could not get over the level of skill and grit in this fight
This fight had the drama of a Hollywood movie, back and forth knockdowns, changing game plans every couple rounds, neither fighter willing to give up unless they were dead on the canvas.
All time classic.
These two are absolute warriors. Cheers to them both
I was truly blown away by wilders fortitude and furys skill that fight, definitely a classic.
What skill

Fury earned this one. He took Wilder’s best shot and got up. Not many people have that type of chin. Mad respect to Wilder
Give that ref a medal for actually letting them work in clinch
Fully agree. Clinching is a legit part of hw boxing
Thanks for the breakdown! :) One of the best boxing matches I've ever seen. Will always remember watching it live.

Top work
David Christian, you're simply the best Bro!

Such an incredible heavyweight trilogy. You don’t get too many of these in a lifetime.

That been said, in boxing you have to use the tools at your disposal and bend the rules as far as they will go just like fury does
I’m a heavy Wilder fan and loved this fight. I love Fury’s skill
Terrific commentary. Thank you for making this so accessible!
Deontay Wilder is so underrated. His power is a real threat to any other heavyweight in the world including Usyk and AJ. Fury had to enter a special survival mode in order to beat him.
Killer video! Killer Fight! A brawl between Giants!

He looks like a villain in a marvel movie right before he blows up you planet.
bro was LOCKED IN!
An instant classic.
Unbelievably in line with the golden era.
When he fights, fury is amazing but right now he is unbearably frustrating
Amazing fight! One of the best trilogies ever. I found a lot more respect and love for Wilder after this 1. Was just outclassed and fought.
One thing i think Tyson has in spades is stamina.
Great video, I recommend your videos to my athletes. There are few channels that truly understand the sport. Keep the good content coming 👊
This channel is pure gold
MAAAAAAAAN i am so excited to watch this- thank you so much for a great breakdown of one of the greatest fights ever recorded

Great video mate!
Couldn’t take Wilders punches?
Except he did, multiple times, got up, the KO’d him ….. Again and again 😅
I actually grew more respect for wilder after this video. Odds were always in Fury's favor imo but Wilder showed some real heart and skill out there
Excellent recap of the fight
Wilder's tough as nails, but I can't help but feeling his lack of fundamentals left him without answers on defense in certain situatons. Especially as the fight wore on.
I agree.
Very good commentary...I enjoyed this while having a beers
As a big Wilder fan, this fight both made me so sad and so proud, dare I say happy, at the same time. Sad obviously because my guy got destroyed by the one guy he really did not wanted to lose to again, but also proud because it wasn't a one sided beating, Fury had to eat punches and throw them back harder than ever before in his career. I think most of the world of boxing was ready to consider Wilder as an afterthought after a second loss to Fury, but after the way that trilogy fight went out, everybody went to bed that night having some sort of respect for that man.
I love this comment. Big respect!
true, he lost alot of respect from me over the second fight and his antics, but he showed more heart in that final trilogy than i've ever seen in a match before, and he certainly didn't get completely dominated like i expected either, he had multiple almost win-moments, easily the best boxing match i've ever witnessed.
wilder is so bad at boxing (skill wise) its crazy how he relies on almost exclusively chin and power and almost beat tyson fury who is one of the most skillful heavyweights of all time
@@rickydanielson7953 that's the magic of heavyweight boxing man, sometimes power can be all you need

Thank you for this awsome video.

If Wlider learned to box early on he would have been unstoppable but relying on power and a prayer can’t last forever
Wilder learned new tricks but knocking Fury down twice pretty much emptied his gas tank. He was running on fumes for the rest of the fight after that.
Absolutely fantastic breakdown!
This is awesome. Thanks
