Ayinla omowura was shakespeare of nigeria"s yoruba language songs. After 30 years of his premature demise, he still remain TOP 3 dead or alive artists being pirated perenially---incomparable and inimitable gifted enchanting vocal. At times in life its great to die young and you are renowned for subsequent decades to come--as in the case of this colossal musical asset in the figure of Omowura,

He riveted the society with his unique voice for 10 to 15years. I just finished reading his biography. According to his biography,it was always a big celebration at beer palors and car parks back then on the day any of his albums will be released. He shook the society with his captivating voice, but it was shortlived due to his untimely death.

He's was like Nigeria Tupac, his music sold more copies compared to when he was alive. I was in Nigeria early this year 2012 and I still hear some join playing Ayinla's music. He's such a legend and his music will live for decades to come. R.I.P Alhaji Omowura ( Inna Lilahi wa inna lilahi rajiooun)

And he did prospered aplenty!!!

IMAGINE Yoruba language being spoken by mere 50% of world population,Ayinla Omowura would be globally enjoying same measure of adulation, adoration and hero-worshipping till eternity. Shakespeare"s world-wide enviable fame as the greatest writer that ever lived--after many decades of his death is attributes to his choice of subject::English language being use as means of communication in most part of the universe. Ayinla was a gargantuan gem in Yoruba"s indigenous music.

My Top 3 AYINLA`S favourite songs(1)ATI DI ARIYO:in which he refuted cruel character-assassinating rumour he had been abducted(kosi jaguda ti o towobo apo Alake,--(awon arije ma fe a yo,awon eda iru e a ni ba won se)which has since becomes an" ANTHEMIC" classic in my mouth!!-(2)AGIDI KO SE LO ILE OKO--side (2)Ayinla detailed his psychedelic massive child-christening party and crooned joyously":lojo ikomo itu pa loja ni itoko"--proud dad yet again!! with rumoured legendary sexual virility!

I'd like to work with film producers and actors on a film productions replication the life of Omowura. Just like we have film for Notorious B.I.G and others after their death. Ayinla is too much of a legend to let go just like that. He's dead but his legacy lives on. Producing the film will help young adult especially those that weren't born during his life time. Please let me know if you know some people I can contact on Ayinla's full biography. Thanks

BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT AYINLA is A LEGEND...

@EgbaAlake it's definitely one the best. It was my first Ayinla Omowura upload, I didn't know what to title it so I went for something very simple- "Ayinla Omowura A"
There's no doubt whatsoever, Ayinla was/is undoubtedly one of the greatest musicians of all times.
How we havent got posthumous awards and movies in his honours surprises me.

@yormeey When AYINLA was alive and HARUNA ISHOLA-both were gifted superstars who were dominating APALA music, just like protracted years of JUJU music stranglehold by Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey. The only prominent Apala singer during their days was a man called RAJI OWONIKOKO;he was of Ilorin tribe ancestry-he regarded himself as Ayinla`s closest rival. But the brutal truth was like comparing Division 2 footballer to top 3 PREMIERSHIP player!! AYINLA`s iconic talent outshone him into relegation!

It's so unfortunate this guys died before music vidoes is being used in Nigeria. I love Apala and I beleive Fuji music is the transformation of Apala. In other words, Fuji music is not actually different rom Apala.

WHATEVER the veracity in Olowonyo`s campaign of calumny-he should be grateful to Ayinla because their -music lovers consious-prolonged enmity enhanced his own popularity.Whilst Ayinla was swaggering in financial opulence reveling in elevated superstardom,Olowonyo was just one of respected bandleaders in town;he was not in talent league of Ayinla by millions miles!!

During their celebrated embittered feuding AYINLA/FATAI OLOWONYO -in which the latter vocally taunted with eviscerating attack Ayinla character:he alleged he partook in shameful criminal misdemeanour in grand larceny:frequent theft of domesticated animals.what a spiteful revelatory moments!(1)Did Ayinla had a penchant for stealing?(2)was he an uncontrollable skirt-chasing womaniser with raging libido as cruely portrayed by Olowonyo. or it was a concocted slanderous tale to blemish Ayinla fame?
