These V-drum contests are far more interesting than most drum competitions since they are encouraged to work in all the various sounds and features of the drums. Granted some of them sound like spaz-wanker noise, but you'll have that with regular drum solos too, haha.
I'm not trying to be rude, but it seems like you came here just to bash v-drums. V-drums aren't meant to replace acoustic drums. A majority of v-drum owners chose v-drums because of noise complains from acoustic drums. People set-up percussion kits the same way would set up their acoustic set. That does not mean they're trying to emulate their acoustics. All drummers should have an acoustic AND an electric kit. I love and play both, but play mainly my v-set due to my work schedule.
why else would they build the hardware to be as real drums and all the 'cosm' drum emulation they are so proud of. and almost all the players play drum beats as they would on a regular kit. some great young drummers thou.
I know these drummers are like really impressive and all but I cannot get over how crappy the sound of an E drumkit was back then. Like holy shit technology has come a long way in less than a decade.
nice "attitude" i must say . anyways, ive been using all sort of diy edrums, ddrums , alesis, with samplers and pc's with maxmsp, ableton, battery, dfh.... so if you think that these acts show "Expermintation" then you must be daft in the ear. vdrums sure hold the gear&feel. but not close to musical sound feel and options of expression. and no, v-drums are self declared for trying to emulate acoustics in the best way. thats the fail.
I really do not wish to insult or offend anyone. But to me this sounds unnerving and it is simply unbearable. It is more like a circus or a sports competition rather than a musical performance. Again, sorry.
inexperienced drummers, it's only Roland show up..., none of them used with proper clarity, velocity control is not there, no music in this, just HIT AND RUN...IS THIS competition... joke....pls do justice at least to the drums...sorry it's my personal opinion..not to hurt anybody
