Please reproduce your beautiful red sampler! I would stitch it in a heartbeat! Loved the sampler history - there is a sampler pattern out there for everyone. Education is the key. The alphabets my mom stitched drove me nuts as a child - why was my adult mother stitching the ABC's all the time? To me it was the equivalent of my mom walking around singing the ABC song -lol. Then I learned the history and began to see the samplers with different (older ) eyes, I began to appreciate both reproductions and adaptations. Thank you for doing your part to bring the fascinating history of samplers to light. xx Michele

For some reason these samplers make me so emotional...perhaps their beauty or the young age at which many of them were stitched. My hope is to fill my home someday with samplers of my own stitching...but I need to get cracking! I only know you here on flosstube...and I follow you on IG...and I can just tell what a kind generous soul you possess. Thank you for bringing not only your own talents to us but also for such informative and interesting information. Have a blessed day.

Yes, although technically teaching a black child to stitch her alphabet was breaking the law. Several do exist. We have one Melissa Smith from Norfolk, VA. Who was mixed. You can call Dyeing to Stitch or Facebook Ann at Dyeing to Stitch to order the chart.
