When you know that benteke isn't on this list you know we've had some shocking business
He at least got 10 goals that season despite being the opposite of what Klopp wanted in a striker and was sold on for somewhere between £27-32M, so they didn't lose that much money on him.
I totally erased the memory of Benteke ever playing for Liverpool. Christ above.
Benteke had his moments. He scored some important goals without which Liverpool would have been worse off (in an already bad season). His 10 goals in total weren't great but there's other players who didn't score that much in the first season for a new club and then exploded. Considering he didn't fit Klopps system he actually did ok. Also he was sold for almost as much money as they paid for him. The mistake here was simply that they bought a player that the old manager wanted and the new manager doesn't.
Benteke was a funny one, his playing style (a big beefy but slow target many style forward) didn't fit with the Liverpool system at all but he still did alright. Also Liverpool nearly got all their money back when he joined Palace for 27 mil
Mandem backing benteke in replies he was absolute dog shit 😂😂 I'm surprised he wasn't on this list, forgot about all the even worse businesses

Everyone loved Albie Moreno, as long as he wasn't on a football pitch. As you said, that 2016 Europa League final was one of the worst individual performances I've ever seen. The worst I've seen was also in a European final for Liverpool, a goalkeeper with poppadum wrists.

Sometimes may be good sometimes may be shit 😂!
Having Sebastien Coates and Alberto Moreno here is a bit harsh. I mean, they weren't exactly good, but Charlie Adam, Fabio Borini, Victor Moses, Loris Karius and Rickie Lambert were all worse. You could even include Bogdan and Solanke, but they probably get away with it since they were frees.
I'd also have Markovic at #1 ahead of Carroll. At least Carroll headed us into an FA Cup final, Markovic offered absolutely nothing from start to finish.
charlie adam was decent tbh
Karius was shit but made some important saves to get us to that final. He also cost like nothing
Alberto moreno harsh being on this list? The guy was a total liability at lb. You forgot all those mistakes and all those players that went through him like he wasnt there? He was rightfully replaced by robertson and our long standing lb problem we had back then is over.
At least Carroll made a key contribution in that League cup semi final and helped Liverpool win a trophy. Balotelli was dreadful on and off the pitch. I'd put Balotelli top.
Reminds me of torres only notable contribution at chelsea, that goal against barca😂😂

Masters FC vs Man Utd
@Quinn Thomas Aren't the Orlando Pirates their biggest rivals? Or is their rivalry with Sundowns that's more dangerous?
@@3dsaulgoodman43 as a south african, yes Kaizer-Orlando is bigger
@Quinn Thomas Tbh id say more people in SA play football than rugby or cricket. its just that sport is heavily racialised (rugby is seen as a white man sport while football is seen as a black man sport), go look at the demographics of our football and rugby teams and you'll see. And ofc the best money comes from the white communities, and rugby is less competitive so it seems to others as if we play rugby more bcuz of our success. But rugby is becoming more and more popular amongst black people. Considering only 7% of SA is white yet whites makes up 75% of our national rugby team, the world is yet to see a SA rugby team driven by a rugby obsessed nation. But when that happens we might be unstoppable. sorry for the rant lol
@@BeskuitenBroffie Didn't the government implement a controversial quota system for rugby? I remember Trevor Noah making a joke about it. And is it true that white people can't sing 'N'kosi Sikelel iAfrika'? It wasnt that hard for me to memorize it(beautiful national anthem, btw).
But there are black people who still like rugby right? Like Siya Kolisi, who would have increased the popularity of rugby among black people.

I'd have to disagree
As a red, I can tell you that although Carroll lost in a lot of games, when he played he played well, was worth no where near 35 mil but he gave us some good moments eg Beating Everton at wembley, a brace v man city
Balotelli was by far the most lazy player I've ever seen, if I ever see him again I'm slappin him, not only was tha bad enough but he also brought the rest of the dressing room down, influenced the minds of a lot of youngsters by showing his success by not working very hard and was the beginning of the end for Rodgers as he proved he coildnt handle a big player like that
Couldn't agree more bro lol
His point is he could have worked out. At that time Balotelli was still seen as the next big thing. He showed his potential at Inter, winning the Champions League, impressing at City at times (a lot of the times players like Dzeko, Tevez were benched because of him), scoring regularly for AC Milan, playing a great Euro 2012 where he destroyed Germany. 20 million Euro sounded like great business at that time. Carroll on the other hand had one good half season for Newcastle and was bought for 40 million Euros (Aguero cost City about as much, Tevez cost were about 35 million). Nobody (outside of England) knew who he was and everybody was scratching their heads who this guy was.
@@danimaster6647 but when you consider we only bought him with the money we got with torres on deadline day, we had 4 hours to find a striker, Balotelli always had a reputation of being lazy and a bad influence on the team, and we'd spent all summer head hunting strikers, shows how bad Ian Ayre was at the time, weve got Micheal Edwards tho now and he could buy a sandwich for 10p and sell it back to you for 10 quid
@@joemcelroy7202 Mario Balotelli has a reputation of either being lazy or an excellent player depending on where he is. Andy Carroll has a reputation of only going where his elbows throw him. Never been a great player, never will be a great player.
Thank God klopp asked the board to release him in 2017 cant having him around making other players lazy but poor balotelli, always gets racially abuse
Imagine HITCJames pronouncing Coates. Co-a-es
The only thing I remember from Coates was that bicycle kick vs QPR and what a memory that was.

Day3: 7 best center back shorter than 6 foot
Cannavaro, Baresi, Puyol ez
Day 8: 7 best premier league players who statistically weren't that good
Scholes, everyone keeps talking about he got very few assists
Gerrard for sure
Josh D See now that’s harsh
Gerrard had to carry the team by himself for most of his time at Liverpool
Lampard and Scholes has arguably the two best managers oat
YoungWaters666 420 I think that’s what makes Gerrard such a good player, he carried the team on his back and was still phenomenal, he doesn’t get talked about enough because of his stats. If you put him into that UTD team then i’m sure he’d be talked about as much as scholes or lampard
Josh D ok yeah he would of. He easily would of got into the team and very well could of Captained after Keane. He would of became the best itw for a little while
For anyone who doesn’t properly understand how ludicrous the Andy Carroll thing was, it would be like if Man City sold Agüero and panicked and spent £80 mil on Chris Wood

Was this based off my 10+ comments asking for the first 7 signings under FSG?
Karius single-handedly lost Liverpool a Champions League final.
Harsh on moreno, had some decent runs of form, but yeah he will be mostly remembered for that disasterclass in the EL final
Tbf to Stewart Downing, he was MOTM in our league cup win in 2012. So at least he did make some significant contribution during his time at Liverpool.
7 managers whove never switched clubs
I liked Coates, I think he didnt really arrive into a situation where he could of developed (Roger's and Kenny as managers) and did show glimpses of being good. Just my opinion
Honestly this dude's voice is so soothing .. I gotta listen to him every now and then to balance out the effect of Irish guy's almost child-like energy :D
Aspas scoring lots of goals in Spain shows just how weak La Liga is.
Was proper waiting for Karius to appear 😂
He should be on the list for 'that game' alone.
I would swap Benteke for Moreno. Benteke was a move forced on Rodgers that was never going to fit the system and only lasted one season. As you said Moreno played more games than some players considered Liverpool legends, and although he was never very good for the price he was a capable backup.
i’ll always be grateful for FSG saving us from liquidation, extending Anfield and building a new training ground but I just think that if we really want to make this current success an era rather than just a few seasons, they need to move on for someone more willing to invest
The thing is... can you not remember when the media were saying that Balotelli was just an averagely priced forward at the time and so paying what they did for him would be either an average signing at an average price or a very good signing at a bargain price?
Even at the time he was a lad on a hot streak, add on the nonsensical 'English tax' he was a 20-25 mil player at best but transfer deadline day makes crazy stuff happen
7 best teams that play on a Astro turf pitch
What ever happened to the Scouse Cafu (called by Cafu his "successor") , Jon Flannigan?
His name popped into my head thinking who was between Glen Johnson and Clyne played RB for Liverpool
Just been released by Rangers
I read the title as '7 Worst Liverpool Signings Since PSG's Takeover'
Harsh on Carroll
.. He gets a lot of stick but he was good for Newcastle when Liverpool signed him and seen as a talented player, people forget that. They signed him for 35 mil because that's what they had no time to fuck around negotiating on deadline day when Torres was heading to Chelsea. It was over priced but they didn't really care as they needed the player. He showed at times he could do it for Liverpool but Rogers sold him on quickly as he didn't fit into his style of play. But I still think he gets a lot gf harsh treatment.
I love you videos, but I’m really getting out of them by so many adverts!!
i would put karius instead of moreno. although many times frustrating seeing moreno playing but he did has his good times in liverpool shirt during those 5 season.
I was wondering if you could do a full video on the corruption of the 1934 world cup?

As a Dortmund Fan I know one of these transfers, Schürrle for 30m €...
I've always thought that if Andy Carroll wasn't as injury prone as he is and Liverpool had played a system that put lots of crosses in the box he would of been a big success. Watch how he dominates Terry in the FA Cup final when he hits the bar etc. Sadly Kenny going and Rogers coming in never worked for him and the injuries did the rest.
7 players who played on with medical conditions (Edgar Davids, Saul etc)
As bad as he was, Moreno was probably the best signing on this list. Expensive sure but he played enough games to give him any amount of value.
7 players that appear on your 7th ever video. Where are they now?
his 7th ever video was about players who retired too early. So he cant really do that one…
Day 8: 7 players who forced a move and regretted it
I would also include benteke in this list
Suggestion: 7 last Chelsea signings before the Abramovich takeover.
Worst signing is Naby Keita, almost always glued to the physio's couch and when given game time totally inept. 5-10 decent appearances over 3.5 years is not sufficient, more so when we consider that he has cost around £80m+ including wages. That'll more than the cost of the Anfield Rd construction cost.....
Honourable mention for Christian Benteke

It's not Leizar Marković, it's Lazar.
Its the smooth and the rough people!..Let's celebrate the successes pls

Iago was unlucky coz when he came at that SAS just exploded and Liverpool were fighting for the title and it was tough for him .
Lazar was a good player but can't understand what went wrong for him .
Moreno was disaster as lb , he should've been kept to give cover at wing
What about Salah, Firmino and Mane? It's been 3 months for those three without a single goal!
7 best players to never get an international cap
I think Balotelli has been placed higher than Markovic based on who he replaced, which seems a trifle unfair! Pretty much anyone would struggle when compared with Suarez, who seemed to be capable of creating goal-scoring opportunities (for others, not just himself) out of nothing. That said, he probably wasn't a great influence in the dressing room either - not happy when he's not scoring goals, but not someone to express delight when he does score, and a constant source of frustration to Roberto Mancini in his time at Man City.
Andy Carroll was a desperation signing - we'd sold Torres without having a big name lined up to replace him. If only they'd known how prolific Suarez (who was relatively unknown at the time) was going to be - it would have looked like a masterstroke to have sold Torres, bought Suarez, and pocketed the change!

...when FSG took over they clearly had no knowledge of the English League or transfer market...they went through a few 'transfer strategies'...spending big money, signing young players with potential etc...luckily...Edwards & Klopp seem to be a match made in heaven...
I disagree with Moreno being there and it’s kind of crazy how you say he’s a worse signing than Aspas or downing. Everyone knows he’s poor defensively, but the high profile mistakes are all non Liverpool fans ever think of with him. He wouldn’t have played 141 games for the club if he was completely useless. Much like lovren it feels like there’s a bit of a bandwagon around him, like when he has a bad game the world is laughing, but when he has a decent game nobody pays any attention. Not a great signing by any means, but certainly not as bad as you’ve made out.
Aston Villa have properly pulled Liverpool's pants down on several of these deals - and Christian Benteke too.
Where is Benteke in hier.
10 years!!! wtf!!!! as if it's already been 10 years. jesus
I’m surprised Assaidi didn’t make this list, lad was so far out of his depth, Markovic before Markovic
It only works now because of Jurgen. Before Jurgen this club was a mess, he makes FSG look good.
This is so frustrating bc most of these transfers should have worked out. It either made sense for Liverpool to buy them or later on they should their class and that they are very capable players or showing glimpses of brilliance. Except Andy Carroll, he's just not that good at football.
