Actually, the donghua production team was very generous in giving him more screentime than in the novel. He didn't have an appearance in Xingqing Palace in the fight against Wu Qiyu. Instead, he had some appearance in later books. Also, he wasn't supposed to be that young and good looking. Pretty sure that Li Guinian was described as middle aged in the novel. I was just surprised that the donghua even gave him such a good design. Tho ig since he's gonna appear later they need him to be memorable 😂

The lyrics are from ancient poem from Tang dynasty written by Zhang Ruoxu (張若虛) and it's called A Flowery moonlight night by the Spring river.
