I do have a cj2a that's 317k
Great to have you back! I hope this is the first of many. Your videos are engaging, helpful, and informative, and I've watched them multiple times. Thanks so much!
Very kind thanks for the support
Welcome back !! Us jeepers missed ya !!! Great to hear that enthusiasm again. 👍
Thank you. Thank you for being the ONLY person I have ever heard pronounce Willys properly.
200k miles on a Jeep. That’s crazy! Just shows how vehicles back in the day were built to last 👍
I have a 1945 Willys here in Colombia. You would not believe how manyyyy short term repairs were done on it. I paid about $5500 USD and had to put another $5500 USD into repairs. It’s fun to drive. I feel very confident even in torrential rain, deep mud, blackout conditions and ugly roads.
Great vid Matt look forward to the next one !
Glad you're back! Since your last video l now own a 42 MB . I've watched all your past videos several times for guidance and inspiration - I hope you keep them coming 👍👍
Great news, enjoy!
That old Jeep runs better than I do, and it's older(I'm only 70) Any update on the one found in the hedge?Good to see you back again 👍👍👍😎😎😎
The one in the hedge is staying in the hedge is staying in the hedge apparently
So let me get this right. you've shown us a WW2 Jeep with 170,000 miles on the clock. Sure, the old gal is a bit tired but with the right care has a lot of life left. Exactly how many vehicles made today will still run in 80 years with that mileage? Virtually none, as their electronics will be toast and long since unobtanium. I love how these plucky WW2 Jeeps just keep soldiering on. Not bad for a vehicle that had a very short expected combat life and, with the numbers produced, was considered to be an inexpensive and disposable item.
Where have you been? We have missed your posts
I always wanted a wartime type jeep. In the early sixties they were being advertised for sale in the back of the Farmers Weekly for £250 give or take twenty pounds, depending on condition. I wanted dad to buy one for the farm runabout but he said they were heavy on petrol which was five shillings a gallon at the pump. We used to pay four shillings if we bought two hundred gallons at a time for the farm tank. I think £250 would be just less than £7000 now according to my inflation calculator.
Glad to see you posting videos again. It sounds like you are becoming a WWII Jeep collector.
Had a CJ3B when I lived in Morocco in the 70s. The evocative sound of the Willys exhaust always takes me back.
I'm having a jolly ol time watching these videos love them love the Jeeps love all the information love the rides in the English Countryside thanks for everything governor I'm a huge fan
Good to see you posting again, love it
Wow two beautiful Jeeps , lucky man !
Your having way too much fun!🧐lol! The greatest vehicle, from the greatest generation. 👌
This was good times.
Cheers👍
Great to have you back was thinking we might not ever see you (all) again.
i'm still about!
Hi mate good to see you back. That Jeep is in great shape and has been well looked after. Yours is smoother faster and looks the nuts. I love all old Jeeps. It's a Jeep thing as you know. Cheers for showing us 👌 My father has finally got another 1943 GPW it's great going out in it and seeing people's reactions. Priceless.
my mates jeep he rebuilt it then sonce 1989 he has taken it all over Australia , shipped it to europ , grease Italy , Germany , and also England , and back to Australia then drove around Australia again
Great stuff! Great to have you back, and looking forward to more 👍
Great to see you back, always good to watch 🙂
Fantastic! I recently picked up a basket case of an MB/GPW and your videos have explained so much for me. Glad to have you back for more content! (Actually looked for your Jeep at The Revival hoping to shake your hand. Maybe next time!)
Good to see you back, was thinking about this channel the other day and here you are :D
Love it. My absolute dream to own something like this.
Theyre still out there and depending on where you live can still be found for a decent price
A GreenDot 319 where could I possibly find one of these things I live in New York Long Island
Nice to see you back. Really enjoy your Jeeps. Old friend has a WWII Jeep we drove on weekends in some back country land.
Great video as always
Well done, Matt! Good to see you again and good to see you still using that old Solex - I'm guessing you are happy with it. I love my Solex!
Thanks Tom, you can see the response on it is lightning fast, its a real trooper
Great Video! .. Awesome comparison!! :)
That lovely darker jeep in high range 4 wheel, the gear whine is the best noise on this planet! Good to see from you again matt! Great content
Hello Matt, nice to see you out of retirement, great videos, what a cracking buy you have there...well done you.
Great video. Owning two, one restored one original, I find both to be special in their own way.
Nice to see you out and about in your MB again Mr Dot
thanks!
glad to see you . nice jeeps
welcome back 🙂great video
Good to see you again! What a nice survivor. Swiss farmers used those poor Jeeps to death. They last a long time but if neglect is to bad, they finally give up and die.
I tell you I have been in Oregon. If you are not on the coast cars there last FOREVER. The climate is dry but not devilishly hot. I was tempted to buy a 1956 New Yorker: First paint, no rust. Hemi engine. The seller was kind of senile, spending the winter in Florida and I could not keep a regular telephone or email concversation with him. I have seen cars in fields without windows. But they were nearly rust free!
I always imagined Oregon to be rainy!
@@Greendot319 I experienced some rain in Oregon but far from the coast the air is amazingly dry. The Chrysler I tried to buy had a very old bump on the rear quarter and there was only minimal surface rust on the blank metal.
I remember a sign: Welcome to the outback of Oregon! I was surprised to see this praerie type of vegetaion. Near the coast you have big rivers and forrests. That shows us how small countries in Europe are. I had to turn around in Oregon because there was a distance of about 120 miles from one gas station to the next.
In Switzerland I live in a place where you are in Germany or France if you drive 50 miles or even less. about 150 miles and I am in Italy or Austria.
PS I checked rainfall diagrams of Oregon: Most of the East gets only 5 to 12 inches of annual rainfall. There are big regions that are labelled having mediterranian climate.
Welcome back, nice video 👌🏻
Thanks!
Got the bent bonnet for the deep wadding on the right
It's been a while mate. I don't want to be picky, but what is with the hood catch in the middle of the hood on the driver's side? Also, I would love to hear the back story of this Jeep. How it got to the U K from Oregon, very cool find. Good to have you back. It didn't take long for the trash to get back in the comment section, 🙄 good grief.
You really enjoy yourself there, envy you.😎😎😎👍👍
Old brake material was much better! Then brakes had to be asbestos free. I got new old stock brake shoes for my classic Chevy. That was an astonishing improvement.
They bite much better, even worn ones
@@Greendot319 Anybody selling soft Jeep brake shoes?
So awesome!!!
Good maintenance is key!
Beautiful original condition, and 2 weeks on UK roads it’ll snap in half.
Thumbs up mate.
Love it.
Great too see 👍
Yep its a lovely one
Nice late war stamped pintle.....
Of course there are differences in the driving experience. Your vehicle had a pampered life and hardly any use. the other one was very well maintained but driven a lot. I think those terrible front tires need to be replaced. That will make a huge difference already.
Fantastic.
cheers!
@@Greendot319 I redid an m38a1 over last winter and did another 3500mile trip across the western US in it this summer. Thanks for the inspiration. Rain, snow, heat, 10,000ft passes. All worked out. Experience the world in an open side Willys military vehicle.
Too right Ben, nothing like it
Nice
I'm not sure if you'll know, but looking at the colour of the second (highest mile) jeep - can I assume it was used in the pacific? I've always seen the olive in the european theatre, whereas the more greener one being pacific, but happy to be wrong on that one
This jeep has a civilian paint job on it ;)
Was that the OG colour of the fan Yellow? I'm building a new 1.16 scale model of it that's just new in our ww2 armour modeling community so needing to know some things here n there! I followed you alot a year ago so my model's really getting a replica of your own haha just needing to make a stencil for my gar dedication bonnet star! Some things under the hood/bonnet I've seen black some OD like onnthe radiator pipes at back firewall what was the Yellow? A post war underseal or something?
No this one is all repainted in civilian colours so not accurate for ww2
I would "guess", but that would be cheating.
I'm from Oregon, who was the guy that owned this
Very strange, by my own experience a Go devil engin burn such an amount of oil ( 1 litre by 100 km) after reaching 50k km and need to be rebuilt. My 1959 M201 MB) I have since 1976 have seen three engins. My Jeep now have 160K km.
Your windshield flag should be on the driver's side
👍👍👍😶🌟
😀👍👍
Can't watch anymore of it 8 mins at 144p is enough! I think it's the new app update that's not casting the highest quality 1080p to a 4k TV you can't control the res while casting to a brand new Google home cast from the RUclips app for some reason I'll watch it on my tablet later
Kept in a garage obviously
You need an airsoft tommy gun
I just don't get that odd colour combo on a nicely preserved WWII jeep???
Come on
Hi Do you need some great lighting for your car to help you better driving, off-road? We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 year and we're looking for sponsorship!
This just shows you couldn't get a 50 dollar jeep in a grate
179k miles? 288k kms,, sorry what’s so remarkable about that?? All my cars have had more than that on them before I bought them,, and I’ve at least doubled that,,
This guy is full of crap.no way you can put 200000 miles on a jeep and it shows no ware on the pedals floor or seats.plus the body doesn't show the usual ware marks the motor should be blowing oil and valves ticking.it doesn't add up
Well I'm afraid that's where you are mistaken my friend. Everything adds up and is fully documented by the original owner. I should know as I bought the Jeep from the original owners son. His father bought it in 1947. It just goes to show that if you look after something it will last.
Respraying is a thing
@@Eddiee757 I think pedal wear is the most telling for high milage. Next would be cracks in the hood and fenders from flexing. The mechanical stuff should last quite well with good oil, maintenance and a good driver in street driving. Most jeeps live hard off road lives.
@@cumminsscout the original owner changed the pedals, it was recorded.
Take it easy ok boy no need to get your knickers in a fit what has he to gain by fibbing you this guy is gold
