Cannes, a resort town on the French Riviera, is famed for its international film festival. The Mediterranean seaside position of this city, established here for over 2,000 years, gives it an all-year-round warm and pleasant climate.
Cannes is known for its association with the rich and famous, its luxury hotels and restaurants, and for several conferences.
The Promenade de la Croisette is the waterfront avenue with palm trees. La Croisette is known for picturesque beaches, restaurants, cafés, boutiques, and luxury hotels. Le Suquet, the old town, provides a good view of La Croisette. The fortified tower and the Chapelle Sainte-Anne house the Musée des Explorations du monde.
Charming, medieval Le Suquet is home to steep cobbled alleys, Marché Forville’s food stalls, and candy-colored cottages winding inland from Vieux Port’s yacht-filled marina. Hilltop Château de la Castre’s museum displays Riviera landscape art, and Gothic-style Notre-Dame d'Espérance church offers sweeping views over the Bay of Cannes. Jazz bars, indie stores, and bistros serving Provençal dishes line the streets.

Lucky you, I was in Cannes and really loved it, the beaches are lovely but can get very crowded.Since you`re already there, I`d suggest taking a trip to Monaco if not for the casinos then just for the experience.
