There is no intention for the demo ever to be released, and that’s why it was leaked in this form, but if Angelina, and her extended family, was interested in this song, they could acquired the rights and produced an original release and they would also have had the right to rewrite any objectionable lyrics. This was a demo that Angelina was asked to record by Brandon Lowry (BabyFuZz) before he released his song. His friends had suggested that Angelina should be asked to sing it. Because of the subject of suicide, as featured in it, he parents didn't want the demo to go any further. While the demo was recorded when she was 10 years old, someone with access to it leaked it 2 years later. Had the unnamed "leaker" not shared her demo, the world would have missed out on this work of art. The fan video itself was also masterfully done, so hats off to him/her as well.
There are many fantastic singers/performers out there with unique voices and/or insanely good skills (like Dimash and Diana, but for me personally there has never been a singer that brings so much love for music and life to her performances as Angelina. She can reach and touch you through screens, so to say! That must be even stronger live!
There are several explanations out there as to why this was never released. They are all pure speculation. The handful of people involved are the only ones that know and so far, they’re not talking. The two that seem to make the most sense to me are AJ’s mother and uncle could clearly see the potential for this blowing up and launching AJ before she was ready, or they just didn’t own the rights to the song so they couldn’t. Who knows why, but it is a shame, because this is the No.1 hit that, sadly, never was.
This performance is nothing short of amazing. I mean, age 10, and a voice that any singer would die for. She is gorgeous in every way with this song. This is a top 10 hit that never even got to the charts since it never was released.

This song gives me a feeling of triphop though Angelina’s singing makes it way more soulful and engaging than your typical triphop song. Story has it she was 10 here. But the origins are a bit muddy and many stories have been spun about all the details. There are a bunch of facts (as in statements of people involved who have no reason to lie) in public sources. - Baby Fuzz wrote this song together a with a group of people during a masterclass songwriting - Baby Fuzz at first decided to sell the song and for that purpose he made a demo - When the sale didn’t happen, he decided to turn it into a song himself - A little while before Baby Fuzz’ version was released, Angelina’s version was leaked - Baby Fuzz stated he had nothing to do with her version and didn’t know about her version So a simple explanation (aka conjecture) to explain how Angelina’s version fits in, is this: - The group of people Baby Fuzz worked with, also worked with Angelina on Shield - They took the song with the demo to Angelina - Angelina gave it a try (leading to this version) and decided not to pursuit it. She is very specific about things she likes and doesn’t like. There is a first take recording for instance of Back to Black and it sounds really good. Her reaction was ‘Yuck’. Her ears are more discerning than mine obviously :-) - The recording was somehow leaked with images from other performances There are stories about Baby Fuzz using her version for his version. But that would mean he lied when he said he didn’t know anything about her version. He has no reason to do so… In fact everybody gladly mentions collaborations with Angelina. There is a story that the lyrics of the song are too mature and about suicide. Baby Fuzz said the song is not about suicide, but this could be true as a story is in the eye (ear) of the beholder. I haven’t found anything about this. It does not seems particularly likely to me as her first big song, Gloomy Sunday, is very clearly about suicide. Anyway it doesn’t matter too much and discussing the origins takes away from the amazing performance Angelina delivered. That is more than enough to need to try to improve it with fantastical imagined stories.

The songwriters he worked with did indeed cowrite "Shield" with Angelina. So your first "conjecture" is actually a "fact". @@DeviYim That info comes from Kent Nielsen, who claimed to have gotten it directly from Ronny Janseen, one of the songwriters. He said the version that was leaked was recorded on January 3, 2017. Unfortunately, all of Kent's YT comments disappeared a while back. Another person, Jørgen A, said that Angelina's mother, Sara, told him that the song was recorded "early in 2017, when she was 11" (that's a direct quote from Jørgen, not necessarily from Sara). Jørgen is now deceased, but I'm pretty sure his YT comments are still around. His wife, Sarlina A, can also be found commenting on AJ reactions.
The thing that "gets me" the most about this one is that it's a *freakin' demo* ! While that doesn't _necessarily_ mean that less effort was put into it than a recording intended for release, what it almost certainly _does_ mean is that Angelina sang this with the full expectation that "no one" would ever hear it - no one outside of a small number of "industry insiders", anyway. By all accounts, she sang this so the song could be shopped around to established recording artists. Thus, it was intended to remain "behind the scenes" and, ultimately, to be forgotten. Listening to it with that in mind makes it even more amazing, IMO.

Her mom put the 'kibosh' on this for what was reported as being because of a reference in the lyrics to a drowning-like suicide. I have to assume that Sara felt it wasn't appropriate for her 10 year old daughter to release something like this. On the other hand. Had this been released, because of it's never before seen form of vocal delivery, anyone listening would have thought it was an adult singing and it would have zoomed up the charts. Some feel it's the best she's ever done.

I think it's quite simple, the song would have gone through the roof and for her 10 years on this song and the way she is protected by her family it would have been too soon with the hype that followed and as mentioned would have been without a record deal it would have been difficult to release this song and only others would have benefited from it. but that's just a guess on my part

That should clear any doubts that she could do this at that age. So she was the first to record it. He later recorded it. This song would likely have been a commercial hit if released. It's an amazing collaboration of song writer and singer. Her presentation is what makes it astonishing though. Someone in the studio had to be the fan. Well, to be fair she was just under 11 years old. Yes, it's jarring for sure. A few years ago when Diana was at her early teen she was very promising singer and her fans believed she is going to rock the word in the near future and in that time u could compare Diana with angelina but now she is 20 and she hasn't complished anything. no album no signing with any record label no global fame and with all being said when u say Diana and angelina are 2 top singers for u then I get suspicious about Angelina's musical abilities because to me angelina is far far better than Diana and any other teen singers

Given that the purpose of a demo is to market a song to different artists, I think about anyone who heard this would simply say, "No thanks. I'd not touching that." This marked “leaked” because it was a demo for Baby Fuzz. It was never formally released as an Angelina song or cover. There is not much known as to who leaked it. We are just very blessed to have this. There really isn’t anything that can be said to truly describe her abilities. We are try our best but, wow and speechless are very common reactions.
At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. What a great reaction.. This is one of my favorite songs by Angelina. She does indeed sound much older when you close your eyes. I am glad this was leaked because it' is a masterpiece of her soulful and jazzy styles. Thank you for you dedication to Angelina's music.
This was a demo that Angelina was asked to record by Brandon Lowry (BabyFuZz) before he released his song. His friends had suggested that Angelina should be asked to sing it. Because of the subject of suicide, as featured in it, he parents didn't want the demo to go any further. While the demo was recorded when she was 10 years old, someone with access to it leaked it 2 years later. Had the unnamed "leaker" not shared her demo, the world would have missed out on this work of art. The fan video itself was also masterfully done, so hats off to him/her as well.
There are many fantastic singers/performers out there with unique voices and/or insanely good skills (like Dimash and Diana, but for me personally there has never been a singer that brings so much love for music and life to her performances as Angelina. She can reach and touch you through screens, so to say! That must be even stronger live!

There are several explanations out there as to why this was never released. They are all pure speculation. The handful of people involved are the only ones that know and so far, they’re not talking.
The two that seem to make the most sense to me are AJ’s mother and uncle could clearly see the potential for this blowing up and launching AJ before she was ready, or they just didn’t own the rights to the song so they couldn’t.
Who knows why, but it is a shame, because this is the No.1 hit that, sadly, never was.

This performance is nothing short of amazing. I mean, age 10, and a voice that any singer would die for. She is gorgeous in every way with this song. This is a top 10 hit that never even got to the charts since it never was released.

Angelina sang this amazingly and it so incredibly beautiful. Indeed you’d never think this was a child singing this. This song gives me a feeling of triphop though Angelina’s singing makes it way more soulful and engaging than your typical triphop song.
Story has it she was 10 here. But the origins are a bit muddy and many stories have been spun about all the details. There are a bunch of facts (as in statements of people involved who have no reason to lie) in public sources.
- Baby Fuzz wrote this song together a with a group of people during a masterclass songwriting
- Baby Fuzz at first decided to sell the song and for that purpose he made a demo
- When the sale didn’t happen, he decided to turn it into a song himself
- A little while before Baby Fuzz’ version was released, Angelina’s version was leaked
- Baby Fuzz stated he had nothing to do with her version and didn’t know about her version
So a simple explanation (aka conjecture) to explain how Angelina’s version fits in, is this:
- The group of people Baby Fuzz worked with, also worked with Angelina on Shield
- They took the song with the demo to Angelina
- Angelina gave it a try (leading to this version) and decided not to pursuit it. She is very specific about things she likes and doesn’t like. There is a first take recording for instance of Back to Black and it sounds really good. Her reaction was ‘Yuck’. Her ears are more discerning than mine obviously :-)
- The recording was somehow leaked with images from other performances
There are stories about Baby Fuzz using her version for his version. But that would mean he lied when he said he didn’t know anything about her version. He has no reason to do so… In fact everybody gladly mentions collaborations with Angelina.
There is a story that the lyrics of the song are too mature and about suicide. Baby Fuzz said the song is not about suicide, but this could be true as a story is in the eye (ear) of the beholder. I haven’t found anything about this. It does not seems particularly likely to me as her first big song, Gloomy Sunday, is very clearly about suicide.
Anyway it doesn’t matter too much and discussing the origins takes away from the amazing performance Angelina delivered. That is more than enough to need to try to improve it with fantastical imagined stories.

Two small corrections/clarifications: (1) The people Brandon [Baby FuzZ] worked with on the song are listed in his official upload of it. The songwriters he worked with did indeed cowrite "Shield" with Angelina. So your first "conjecture" is actually a "fact". (2) Brandon said he wrote the song at a "songwriting camp", not a "masterclass".

@@DeviYim That info comes from Kent Nielsen, who claimed to have gotten it directly from Ronny Janseen, one of the songwriters. He said the version that was leaked was recorded on January 3, 2017. Unfortunately, all of Kent's YT comments disappeared a while back.
Another person, Jørgen A, said that Angelina's mother, Sara, told him that the song was recorded "early in 2017, when she was 11" (that's a direct quote from Jørgen, not necessarily from Sara). Jørgen is now deceased, but I'm pretty sure his YT comments are still around. His wife, Sarlina A, can also be found commenting on AJ reactions.
She produces emotion not words ?? I am at a loss for words, as there are none to describe what Angelina can do.
The thing that "gets me" the most about this one is that it's a *freakin' demo* ! While that doesn't _necessarily_ mean that less effort was put into it than a recording intended for release, what it almost certainly _does_ mean is that Angelina sang this with the full expectation that "no one" would ever hear it - no one outside of a small number of "industry insiders", anyway. By all accounts, she sang this so the song could be shopped around to established recording artists. Thus, it was intended to remain "behind the scenes" and, ultimately, to be forgotten. Listening to it with that in mind makes it even more amazing, IMO.
That part at the end you replayed is the most awesome thing I ever heard from a 10 year old or even may years older seasoned professional vocalist. Angelina to me is the G.O.A.T. versatile vocalist I have ever heard.

- Does Angelina have any connection with the co-writers of the song? She sure does! Great song by Angelina is Shield that she co-wrote. And whom did Angelina co-write Shield with? No other than Aksel Carlson, Ronny Janssen and Frida Amundsen! Hmmm.
- Angelina is from Oslo, as are the three Norwegian songwriters. They had to have met somewhere for Shield to be written and produced. It appears, Shield was produced at Ronny Janssen's recording studio in Oslo as he has a production credit.
- At minimum, one could also presume that at least one meeting had to have occurred when Angelina did demo of I'm Still Holding Out For You, probably also at Ronny Janssen's recording studio in Oslo which would seem to be likely place Angelina would have sung to backing track. So, it is probable that Ronny Janssen had master recording of Angelina's demo and probably made multiple samples for Angelina, and the other two songwriters.
- Additionally, Ronny Janssen is listed with production credits for three versions of I'm Still Holding Out For You by Baby FuzZ in 2018 and 2019. Thus, one can presume it was probably Ronny Janssen who played Angelina's demo version to Baby FuzZ in 2018
- Ergo, the most logical person to have "leaked" the demo is Ronny Janssen

For me, I decided Angelina was the best singer I ever heard when she was about 12. And I’ve never had second thoughts about that since. there are many rumours. It's actually her song because she sang it first, but only as a demo. I think it's quite simple, the song would have gone through the roof and for her 10 years on this song and the way she is protected by her family it would have been too soon with the hype that followed and as mentioned would have been without a record deal it would have been difficult to release this song and only others would have benefited from it. but that's just a guess on my part

So she was the first to record it. He later recorded it. This song would likely have been a commercial hit if released. It's an amazing collaboration of song writer and singer. Her presentation is what makes it astonishing though. Someone in the studio had to be the fan. Well, to be fair she was just under 11 years old. Yes, it's jarring for sure. There is some disagreement about this song, some of it even carried over to the comments on this video. I doubt Angelina would approve of that. 😃 At any rate, even people who disagree will agree to the point that this was originally recorded by Angelina as a demo. Who asked her to do it is less clear, but the most logical assumption is that it was someone on Brandon Lowry's (Baby FuzZ) team. And to be honest, I've never heard exactly what was given to her, whether it was sheet music, a backing track, or ?
All that said, this was possibly the worst demo ever recorded. Given that the purpose of a demo is to market a song to different artists, I think about anyone who heard this would simply say, "No thanks. I'd not touching that." Knowing that would forever be compared to Angelina's version and knowing that would never stand up to it.
And for those who would like to hear her release it now, given the controversy, Angelina said she would never sing it again. This comes from a girl who made a silly statement when she was six and eleven years later still doesn't wear shoes when she performs. 😃
