Today's menu is 'Chili Shrimp'.
It is one of my favorite shrimp/prawn dishes.
Use 'Cocktail Shrimp (Cooked Frozen Shrimp)' instead of raw ones for a budget friendly version.
It's a perfect blend of sweet and spicy and I HIGHLY recommend it!
I prefer eating it with a bowl of rice but you can have with some bread if you want haha.
The ingredients are all basic and it's really easy to make so... even if your cooking skill lv isn't high yet, give it a try!
Ingredients:
Shrimp/Prawn: 200g
Garlic: 2 Cloves
Green Onion: 1-2
Butter: 1 Tbsp
Chili Oil: 1 Tbsp
Chili Flakes: 1 Tbsp
Sugar: 1 Tbsp
Black Pepper: 1 Pinch
Ketchup: 2 Tbsp
Soy Sauce: 1 Tbsp
Vinegar: 1 Tbsp
Water: 2 Tbsp

Shrimp is cheap in Korea
shrimp actually is a great protein for college students. they sell bags of frozen peeled and deveined shrimp, and where I live it goes on sale often. it's a good alternative to frozen chicken nuggets and can level up instant ramen. shrimp's subtle taste can be coated in sauce like bored's video but it can also be eaten lightly seasoned such as in a shrimp taco or ceviche (which is just like a shrimp salad) with chips, making shrimp versatile and not as easy to get tired of perhaps. shrimp fried rice is also soo good and did i mention putting shrimp in the food processor to make wontons too? and it's an easy protein to cook with when you buy it raw compared to chicken breast which can dry out easily and pork. mmm now im craving shrimp ...and salmon

Shrimp must be a _lot_ cheaper there, because here in the US this recipe wouldn't be broke college-kid survival food. It still looks amazing, though, and I never get tired of your unique and incredible cute cooking videos! ^_^
he’s in australia, which probably helps… surrounded by water and all. and i expect their economy isn’t tanked like the US. or maybe he gets stuff sent from family living in korea? relatives tend to send loads of random stuff through the post. i say this as someone living in the states with relatives all over this country and in korea

i think so, it's a 'broke college student survival food' if they're geographically surrounded by sea.. I live in Indonesia and shrimp is not expensive here :-D

I'd suffer from my nickel allergy if I ate this (shellfish are rich in nickel, and I've never really enjoyed the texture of crustaceans and shellfish either). Slightly lazier method, somewhat adapted from fam:
• Shrimp
• Sweet chili sauce, usually advertised for dipping fried spring rolls, as much as you want
• Minced garlic or garlic powder, even jarred garlic is ok
• Generous chunk of butter
• A little Sprite/7-Up or sugar in water, to braise shrimp and reduce sauce
• Salt/pepper, extra chili flakes to taste
Same exact method as the video tbh! Just watch when reducing the sauce down to desired thickness to not overcook the shrimp, or reduce it separately. And if you have green onions too, +100 for flavor

Tried. I just finished it. While doing so, I felt like I was being trolled. But let me tell you if I was, it was definitely worth it as I enjoyed every bite.
Note: This may be obvious, but if you or anyone else has asthma, be careful as chili oil gets into the air and can give you a coughing fit. Much worse if you have asthma, wait until the swelling of your throat goes down before eating it. Also pay attention to the heat of the pan.
Wash your hands man, wash your hands, don't forget, and watch out for the oil splashing, you don't want that in your eyes.
It's awesome. It has that perfect amount of saltiness and I enjoyed it so much I'm about to make more for me and my mum. Again, remember to wash your hands, you don't want that in your eyes.
Also, if you want to get rid of the heat quickly after eating and milk doesn't cut it, peanut butter helps, if you can't have peanuts, honey also helps. 😊

Like, not enough people grow their own crops; it's free food and it's free of any contaminants, so you won't need to worry about food being poisoned because it's not being made in a factory, it's in your own yard.
Plus gardening is such a cool thing to do, and it's very rewarding in the end.

In my Mexican household, this is called camarones a la diabla. It has a few more extra ingredients, but it's a close enough recipe to be called that. So if you ever go to a mexican restaurant and they have that on the menu, it's essentially this dish. You're welcome 😂😉
