True.I met several latin immigrants who speak english much better than many natives I have known since forever. In addition to English, immigrants strive to learn other languages. Americans in general are boastful, think that they do not need to know a second language
Gerdur Gunnarsdottir It's because there are tons of tourists in that area. I just walked through dotonbori and more than half the crowd was probably non Japanese
Many minorities in the United States feel that same way and they were born in the U.S. He chose to go there so that is by his choice and what is the problem? I have been to Wisconsin and I was the only colored person in the restaurant. He is white and spoiled.
Are you not at peace Ryan? Is your dialogue for entertainment? You may need to meditate to quiet the constant voices in your mind. There's nothing wrong with just existing.
MrBeaux Most of people who committed the actual war crimes were never punished by the U.S. The amount of evil, vile, disgusting things the Japanese did will take a while for some people to get over. Especially when there are people who are still alive today who were victims of that evil. America doesn't have to apologize for a god damn thing!!!
I was in Osaka in 1966. It's now totally unrecognizable. The only cities I saw then that had some areas like your video shows were downtown Sendai, and a few areas of Tokyo. Osaka still had lots of dirt streets with open sewers and drab wooden buildings at that time. It almost looks like they rebuilt most of the country since then.
It seems like this guy is tsundere towards Japan. He "hates it" and constantly complains about it, yet still goes back to live there. I think he actually enjoys it but can't admit it and acts all tsundere.
Look at the distance between the numbers. The first digit "4" is closer than the others. It's also slightly tilted. His balance is under 2 million yen not 40 million.
Yes maybe but now he has edited this part of the video, can't see anymore...If this was fake before, I wonder why he's hiding it now. Or maybe it was not a fake and he really has 40 million on this bank account...
You obviously don't follow Ryan's channel otherwise you'd know that he invested his savings and saved for over sixteen years and lived a frugal lifestyle also you'd know ríe is a shitty spender and Ryan limits her spendings or at least what he pays for her
are you sure about moving from Japan to China? i live in Thailand where we have had an influx of Chinese tourists. from your vlogs the Japanese look respectful, polite and quiet. the streets look nice and clean too. seems to be a huge difference between these two asian countries!
Thanks for the tour of Osaka central Ryan and for using your finest camera. For some reason, which I can't quite explain, I've not visited Osaka and yet it looks pretty good. So next time I'm in Japan I want to take-in Osaka for a few days before escaping to the Japan countryside.
4:00 I'm very anti-conformist and I wait if there is a cross walk sign simply out of respect in taking my turn. The reason is because often people do walk in front of cars when it is not their turn and this messes things up, so I try to stick to the rule. Maybe only during busy hours.
Ii hope Rie won't follow you this time. She need to concentrate on her future since she is in that risky age . :)) Bless her, :))))) I hope she will find someone who can give her what she desefve in life.:)))
holy shit, Rie looks incredible for a 42 year old. I feel genuine pity for her, putting up with this guy. I can't explain why she seems like a great person.
The most obvious that nobody has realized so far is that his RUclips channel will be history the moment he enters China as there´s no RUclips in China!
I've been watching your video for quite a while. I'm from china and have been to Japan a couple of times. Really enjoyed your video and hope if you come to china you can let me know I'll show you around.
JAPAN FANBOYS N GIRLS SHUT UP PLZ. He faced the problems of japan 10 long years and now hes exploring other countries. He is BOUNDLESS, maybe thats his SPIRIT. Thanks for your honesty Ryan and good luck in the future!
Sad you didn't make it, my dad's life have been awesome for the past 6 years he's been there. But the fact that you're really moving into China because of your crappy job situation is blowing my mind. You know what kind of life the middle class Chinese are living?
I hate how there's a culture around Japan that stems from foreigners believing that Japan is a place of pure fantasy. Japan is a place to visit not to live in if you're a foreigner, that's just how it is.
first thing I notice: almost no overweight or handicapped people. Certainly no obese people. No homeless. Nothing but Asians. Also, no ethnic or cultural diversity whatsoever.
In Germany they used to shout at you for crossing the red light. Where/ when are you going to China? I missed something here... How did you get a 10 years visa. Obviously since you are a US national... lucky you... but still??
China Non-Stop because we Germans don't break rules either. In America they cross red lights even with a child on their side. They basically teach young children that breaking the rule is ok.
I know I lived in Germany, same for bike/ pedestrian lanes... It is complex: In a way it makes sense once people start breaking the rules then it is the open door. But on the other side one has to be flexible. I remember when I was a kid I went to a host family in a small German village. The street was empty and I crossed at the red light and then this woman opened her window to shout at me. Or in Berlin I think in 98, bike wouldn't stop for you if you were to walk on their lane. But I think with migration it changed...
+China Non-Stop The 10yrs visa is a multiple-entry visa (nothing more than that). It doesn't mean he can live there for 10yrs, but to keep visiting China for the next 10yrs (unless they kick him out of the country). Knowing Ryan as the ultimate Y-tube cheapskate, that visa option was definitely the cheapest.
On the 10 multiple-entry business visa, Americans must leave the country every 60 days, which can be as simple as slipping over to Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or some other keyhole close-by.
Ryan I have been to china and it was fine but too dirty for me. Japan is the best country I have been in (lived there for 5 years) but I did not work as I have bank investments overseas. If I had to work probably was going to be different my experience. I simply love Japan. Unfortunately now with Fukushima it is extremely unwise to live there permanently. I bought a ticket to come back for 2 months with my family but too many bad news coming from that nuclear plant so I canceled it. Will go somewhere else. Looking forward to see your next move. Thanks for your videos.
only one question , whats your 10 year visa all about? you said i can come and go for 10 years but that depends on your nationality. and ive never heard of china giving a 10 years visa to any nationality. can you please shed some light on this matter, thanks
I have to second that if you don't like Japan, moving to China is a step in the opposite direction. I lived and taught in China for three years, from the small stick in the woods middle of nowhere countryside to one of "the best cities" the country had to offer before moving to Japan. (also no fbook, youtube, google etc) you have to use a vpn for any time of "normal internet" you get in Japan or America etc.
Japan HAS to be the world's most NOISY country, bar none. The noise is incessant, 24/7. If the stoplights are not singing to you, the local government loudspeakers will be, if they don't the hawkers' trucks will play endless loops, if they don't then the traffic is always there and is especially great when crotch-rocket gear-heads show up. NO PLACE NO WHERE IN JAPAN is peaceful and quite, short of the grave.
I stayed in Namba/Shinsaibashi for 3 months around '95, and walked that shopping center everyday. Sony Tower was one of my favorite spots. I miss it. Imagine being the only Black guy walking that street. (..it wasn't a big deal actually.) I think that Starbucks in Dotonbori was a 'Mister Donut'.
seriously the amount of people not understanding him is just unbelievable. this guy lived in japam for over 15 years, do you really think this decision came easy? do you really think he hasnt thought this through? do you really think this guy just picked china randomly? keep in mind some people are not the same as a other s in society and that can lead to irritation of a whole other level in itself. whatever his situation with his private life and SO is not really for us to say or judge.. dont get me wrong we all have our opinion about china or japan and i agree that japan may be a better place to live but dont think watching 10 min videos will make you fully understands whats happen behind the videos or in private. so im gonna be polite on this one and ask all of you guys to get of his back, even if you disagree with his choices
yo man your channel is sick. I was in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto for my first time last year (September 2016), it's bringing back memories. I subscribed. Your girlfriend is pretty too. have fun
I saw the bank balance before you covered it up. Well done! Be aware that deposit insurance only covers up to 10 million per account. You would do well to open up several new accounts and keep each one under 10 million. You might also consider buying a used 2DK "mansion" for 15 million or so which will get you out of the renter's dilemma, help avoid pesky renewal fees and prying landlords. It would also provide that cutie mate of yours with some security which she deserves at this point. Also, if you decide to move along, it will always be there to provide a flow of rental income.
Main difference I've noticed between here and there is most girls don't seem fat there. HERE however, over the last 10 years it's gotten insane. Literally 35 out of ever 40 I see are overweight.
For Ryan, "Good" = "Free", and nothing else. Most likely it Ria, not Ryan, is the one who knows what brand and model it is (and how much it costed her) :P
'Central part of...' (anywhere), usually means that you find yourself in a shopping mall. Who actually want's that?? Not me, that's for sure. Shopping and eating cake...Hahahaha : ) I hate both! ; )
I don't think you can find place you love in the earth
that is so true! it must just be him!

True.I met several latin immigrants who speak english much better than many natives I have known since forever. In addition to English, immigrants strive to learn other languages. Americans in general are boastful, think that they do not need to know a second language
Reminds me of minorities in America
It´s like he´s invisible; no one looks at him.
Gerdur Gunnarsdottir It's because there are tons of tourists in that area. I just walked through dotonbori and more than half the crowd was probably non Japanese
in India if he walks around like that even in a city at least half them will look at him
I think it is more natural to look, when you see something strange/different.
For me it looks weird that so many people would pass without looking.
Gerdur Gunnarsdottir hahaha...
I meant "strange/different" in the absolutely nicest way possible,
it that´s what you are laughing at :)
This guy is so astonishingly self-absorbed that he'll never be happy anywhere he can squeeze a perceived slight out of something.
First thing to do when you are in Asia is to dress properly and not walk around like a bum. You will get no respect at all.
So that's why that south african guy on youtube... serpent -- somthing, can't remember his name, dresses up in a suit.
Makes sense now.
serpentza
hes a great youtuber. awesome content
I like his channel.
"Imagine being the only White guy..." Yeah, just ride the bus in Toronto...

There's an old saying - "It doesn't matter where you go - there you are." Think about what that means.
👍👍👍my favorite quote of all time
Yep
Spents 200$ on a visa he might not use. Can't afford pants and wear shorts in the winter
I've heard that some ladyboys in Thailand stole all his pants and just disappeared.
Jørgen Kleist-Christensen He doenst want to spend the money. His balance as shown on the ATM is about 43 million yen (aprox 370K USD).

Living off the interest most likely. Which is a pittance.

Nearly $400,000 in savings? That is really good :)
photopuppet it is Rie account.
Are you sure it isn't 400,000 yen? That's only about $3,500.
Yen or dollars?
He really needs to go back to the US and start paying into social security.
LMFAO good one!
on behalf of americans I apologize to the Japanese for Ryans behavior in public :/
