Hi John. Both those pieces (Gehrig and Ruth) are awesome. I have picked up a few Jackie Robinson photos this year. I really like them also. Thanks for sharing John.
Check that out!! 👀 what a great picture and moment caught in time!! I went to Rickwood Field yesterday and saw some amazing vintage and lots of pre-war that you would have enjoyed seeing. Nice cabinet.
Extraordinary photo. Rick's going to be jealous. And thanks for the ambassadorship. Japan usually goes to one of the president's big money donors ha. Glad you're different.
Awesome Ruth photo! I agree...type 1 photos are the next big thing, but dont overlook the type II, type III and even type IV photos! Many type 1 are already very expensive, but other types are very affordable! Speaking of Ruth, I recently acquired a type IV vintage photo of him from a 1933 publication used on his 1920 w519 strip card. Very popular image, as it is also one of the very first photos of Ruth in a Yankees uniform. Got that sweet gem for less than hundred-dollars on auction.
@MrJmangini I don't own the card, but I'm familiar with the card and the image. I sold all my cards and got into photos. The only exception I'm making is buying some of the cards to match the photos used on them. I'm even doing this if the photo was used within the same photoshoot. Neat stuff. I'm still shocked at how cheap that Ruth sold for. I certainly wasn't expecting to win it. Regardless of its type, it's still a vintage photo with a newspaper publication stamped on the reverse, along with a 1933 date. RMY seems to think its an even earlier photo dating to the 1920s and originally part of a composite before it was used. Not sure if that played a role in its cheap price or not.
@@MrJmangini Yeah, I seen that one on eBay. It wasn't a bad price for a type 1. Seen several snapshots of Ruth go for just several hundred, which is also shocking. They weren't authenticated, though, so could've been why. As type 1 photos begin to gain more popularity, they'll eventually be out of reach. That's when other types will gain popularity. People are already buying up other types of Ruth photos. Honestly, I think most type II, type III and type IV vintage photos used on sports cards are steals right now. I don't think it'll stay that way for too much longer, though.
@@MrJmangini Speaking of type 1 photos, your video just gave me an inkling that I might just have a few type 1 Mays rookies. I'll have to find them and study them.
Amazing photo John! That piece is absolutely top notch amazing! By the way I offer up my services for being in charge of the bureau of engraving and printing baseball cards lol!
Nothing like a Spring Training image…of course I’m biased but it really is a great shot of the Babe. Nice to get another baby to go along with the Delong Gehrig. Congrats John!
Awesome piece, John. Congrats. As much as I like the image, I really like the condition of the back wire-photo caption info. Hard or impossible to know, but it likely had been stuffed in a dusty newspaper file cabinet drawer for decades.
Great photo. Last night I filmed my VR for your contest. I’ll be dropping it on Friday. I think you stole some of my ideas without even watching them! 😂 Thanks for sharing.
Amazing once again. I can't do type 1$ but i recently started collecting the "wire newspaper "photos. They have a lot of historic writing and notes, kinda like the type ones. Last few were Lou gehrig, Magic Johnson, Dennis Rodman, and Jim Abbott.
Fantastic photo!! Awesome image! Your genuine happiness shows for sure!
Thanks!
YES YES YES!!! Love to see you holding a type 1 photo John. Wonderful piece, congrats.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing, John. Beautiful Ruth photo.
Thanks!
Beautiful Ruth image. Congratulations on your recent pickups.

Nice cabinet choices. The Ruth spring traing card is awesome. Always enjoy.
Awesome photo, congratulations. Thanks for my position on your cabinet.

Fantastic Babe. I agree. Much nicer than ANY fake Kaboomie with a triple patch
Haha
That's a great addition , and it sounds like you got one heck of a cabinet going so far....
Awesome photo! Now I want to watch “Pride of the Yankees”
Fantastic photo John! I want to see your Babe Ruth Kaboomie next!! The one with the gold shiny border and 1/1 stamp on the front! Epic! 😂
Haha thanks!
Wow! You have been killing it lately, John! The Babe is awesome and I can look at that Gehrig all day long. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
That's just an amazing moment caught in time.

Yea nice! I have that strip card. Great early Yankee photo of him for sure.

@ yea I was shocked at how cheap I got mine. I would have expected a Ruth Type 1 to go for several thousand.
