Where were these videos when I got my table I had to watch 3 horrible videos to try and figure this out thank god people have a proper video to learn this now! Thanks Nick!
I was always 3-3.5. I found in louder clubs and events it was a bit better to have it a little lighter to absorb the vibrations. I also turned the cartridges a little sideways. It seemed to track better in seratol. Best thing I ever did was get rid of the tone arms lol.
I just took out my turntables super excited to properly balance them. I don’t normally use them but the rest of the dials on the tone arm like the the anti-skate do we have to adjust that as well and will it affect the needles?
Another helpful video 👍, there are another couple of black circles that you twist beneath it, I'm not sure what they're called (I know I suck). Do you know what I should adjust them to? Thanks
When scratching or beat juggling it jumps to a new point the track a lot. I think it’s because I have heavy hands (ortofon mix needle). I usually run about 2.5-3g. I also set the height at 0. Should I be making an adjustment or just get smoother with it
I would put the weight heavier around 3.5 and just practice being more light handed. remember you don't have to press hard or use much strength at all to cut and beat juggle.
What's your go to tonearm weight??

haha thanks man
I'll take an 8ball since your talking grams! Great video. Most people have zero clue why this is important!
Thanx bro. Great tutorial. I got the same turntable..

Yes me too sometimes, prevents the needle from bending one way after a while
Super interesting!
Thanks Will!
Good stuff 👍👌

Keep those at 0
Thank you 🙏

keep those at zero unless your tone arm isn't parallel with the record.
@@NickSpinelli . Thanks
Thank You Nick! btw, @3:30 is your record warped?
Yes, it is! lol idk how these are brand new
don't forget the heigh adjustment usually at 2 and a half or 3
True!

What if your needle sounds like it’s scratching across the record? The cartridge rather I guess. As it’s just playing a song?
lower the weight
I use whatever's recommended by the manufacturer of the stylus.
true!
Mine is set at 3.5
Don't cartridges come with recommended tracking force specs?
Get a cheap digital scale and go by specific specs would be best.
Didn’t ’t understand why Roc Raida turned the weight arouond
Me neither!
Needles are too expensive and too much maintenance. I’m good with “keeping it real” I’m getting a Rane system
This is true lol
Or just use phase...that works too 😂😂
😂 Why are you dissing 'the other side'?? "the other side doesn't have shit" lol
lmao
