Yes!!! Goats and nature 🙂 We have 9 goats and I'd probably only be able to pack with 2 of them...the others are weirdos 🤣 before having goats I didn't know goats were the BEST animals in the world...truly love 'em to bits 🥰
@@unforkyours3lf730 that's amazing!!! Let us know how you get on 😊 we had triplets in April...so adorable and full of fun! Plus the goats milk is lovely, nothing like the stuff you buy in the shops...maybe we struck lucky?
My dad's been a hiker his whole life, and by that really instilled a love for the woods in his children - but the guy is getting old. 65 this year, in a few he might not be able to go out anymore like he used to. Finding a way for him to walk pack-free would extend his quality of life by maybe 5 years.
some birds are more "tame" than others. I have picked up wild saw whet owls right out of trees, and spruce grouse can be picked out of trees, put back, and picked back up. They hardly ever flush in fear.
I really appreciate what a heartfelt, open, and vulnerable person you can be. That is very special and I can tell it makes a difference for the people who come into your life.
Your relationship to the goats is a great example of humans weird ability to integrate with other species. I keep my chickens as composting partners, and as alien as they are, we still have mutualistic relationship I really value.
Ya...it sucks when your body betrays you earlier in life than normal. Especially when you USED to be known for pushing youself...and succeeding at it...and suddenly willpower alone doesn't cut it anymore. I completely understand that woman. I too raised sons...thanks for sharing that story. Edit: wheres 4,5 and 6 episode??
Absolutely beautiful to see how these goats navigate and just follow and are very quiet amazing creature when you get to look at them this way really allows you to appreciate hell with purpose God made the goat in all creatures thank you for sharing God bless

Hiking or mountaineering is basically self-help in practice. Like, not just theory. Just think about how we humans (and i mean everyone) feel when we reach the top of a mountain and look out over the world. It feels amazing! It feels amazing not just because of the view, but because of the suffering you endured to get to the top. Whenever I'm hiking I wonder ''why don't I do this more often...?''
You voiced exactly the way I feel about back-country and my family. Lately my wife & me go together in most of the trips, still I feel the need to go solo sometimes. Nice nature you have there, something you don't see in Ontario.
This is amazing! I’m sure the goats love the adventure and experience as much as you do! I’d love to try hiking and mountaineering with goats vs dogs now!
I have to say Marc, this is my new favorite stream to watch and it makes me want to get goats. I live in Wales and am lucky enough to live in an area that goats like this would thrive and be highly useful to hike out with. I have horses an a dopey deaf Great Dane and think that goats would be a suitable animal for my personality. Plus they look like really friendly animals that could be companionable in the future. Post covid they would also be highly useful with tourism in this area.
Goats are great. I think there's a legal issue with pack goats in Europe (and the UK unless they change their law) though. Goats are classed as "livestock" and so can only be moved from one registered holding to another, plus all movements have to be reported to the ministry. So we are pretty much stuck with equines for pack animals.
PackGoats.com I walk my goat( a toggenburg named Rosie) and sheep ( Charlie) each day. For now it’s just a little walk around the corner. I hope we will be able to go to the forest soon. And your channel helps me keep my dreams high and close. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means a great deal. 💙
Ive just stumbled upon you on fieldcraft survival and now been following and loving your craft and everything you do. That woman in the end just hits the feels man, i feel both sad and happy at the same time. Dang you are an inspiration to all man keep it up G.O.A.T of goats 🐐
I have Boer goats and the oldest doe (who has some other large breed mixed in her) beats up my younger, smaller doe. When I take the smaller one out for walks she stops in her tracks anytime the big one talks to her from yards away. The old doe must be the herd leader. Thank you for the video.
Ok great channel!!!! How do you control the mosquito problem ? I love places near rivers and lakes but cant stand mosquitos. What do you use or eat to keep them at bay. Please do a segment on pest control in the back country.
When you talk about the conflict it’s absolutely normal we all do it in one way or another. I would highly recommend doing parts work, a lady called Teall Swan who has a channel on here does really good lessons about what it is and how to do it 💙💙💙. It’s fantastic for soothing that silent conflict and creating inner piece. Enjoy xxx

This is nearly 3 years ago now but figured I would ask. Is there any way to get part of your group that you do these backcountry hikes with? Looks like an amazing experience! :)

Is it just me but I’ve been watching those three episodes straight.
👊👊
Definitely not just you. I think there is something about "this" that many of us are looking for.
What's really bothering me is that I didn't find this sooner. I have new aspirations.
The story of the woman that has the pace maker, got me right in the Feels.
Same here.

How on Earth did this dude sneak up on a wild bird and swatch it up with his bare hands!?!? Impressive stuff.

Super kind of you to say. M
I really like the spiritual human experience you are describing.
Also, Those goats are badass! ❤❤❤
"But he doesn't have what it takes in the goat world to be a leader; in terms of being a butt hole." ...
Cracked me up; Mostly because it's too true.
Right??

We can be hard on those that can’t keep up, and in doing so actually leave something far more valuable behind.
