Gary Rossington is smiling looking down on you Tom cause he knows there is one man atleast trying to keep it exactly as he played it himself!!! Love the videos man keep them coming!! #GaryRossingtonForEver
What a great video...Gary, Dickie Betts and Billy Gibbons were all masters of mixing those blues major and pent minor scales. They all played such tasty licks and solos. Gary's solo on Mr Breeze is one of the best things ever recorded and Ed King played so many tasty fills in that tune as well. Just amazing stuff.
Hi Tom, oh man how great would it have been to be at the hell house while they were working out these songs. Thank you for breaking down these Skynyrd classics, what a great band.
There's a good interview with Ed King. He's talking about Saturday night and said he wanted to do the solo and play lead until he heard Gary do his part. He said "its yours!"
Awesome Tom , you do a great job of breaking it down making everyone realize just how complexed and melodically layered their songs are, keep them coming🤘 L🐊S forev rrrrrrrrrrr🔄
Gary Rossington was one of my heroes he and "Bernice "" was hanging at the Rand R hall of fame i think it was right beside Duane Allmans les paul another legend played a les paul Bernice is a ,59 model probably priceless in my humble opinion
Awesome channel I ran into it about four years ago and then some how lost track, got it back now. Enjoying learning, love your guitar teaching style thank you for the help, I’m sixty know, and I had a couple guys trying to get a band together back in 1978 I played drums then and learned very little about guitar now since RUclips and all the people teaching it’s been a journey. Love the work you do. Thank you 🧡01🧡
Paint some random black and white stripes at random angles in that room and your practice room will look like Edward's Frankenstein guitar. Great job with these catchy Skynyrd licks as always!
Awesome video Tom ! You are so fantastic at playing all those licks and solos AND getting the exact tones !! Love it as a lifelong Skynyrd (huge) fan and guitar player ! Thank you !
Can you do a video about allen collins solo in the live version of sweet home alabama in Oakland on 7/2/77 Thats one of my favorite live solos of all time, something about the tone
Great playing and great video. Thank you for not saying fret numbers and strings which drives me crazy. I learn so much more by just listening and watching with my guitars next to me
Agreed. Naming strings and frets should be limited to beginning guitar videos only. Once you've been playing a few years, all that stuff is obvious. Just play some things slow or focus on the hands if you need to show detail.
Cool Tom. Like when Gary was at "the old grey whistle test" version. Yeah! searchin from the FoX version, You got it down Brother! That was my favorite to learn when I first got my Les Paul, along with "On the hunt". Tom, I had the vynal of the FOX album, and I slowed the needle down while figuring out the searchin leads....I had too LOL. That was legendary Gary and Allen double leads on that song.
Thank you Tom Gary is my favorite guitar player I listen everyday if I could just learn his style I would be happy with myself as a player I admire a lot of players and try not to limit myself to one style but Gary just has the sound and tone I love also brother you do a fantastic job of covering Skynyrd I think you for covering all the guys because there is just endless knowledge love your guitars
Hi man, I’ve been watching you, I don’t know how long it’s been, but it seems like a few years now and you have really gotten better as a player over time, you’re doing great thanks, for bringing this to us. Don’t forget about Dickie Betts , alesson or two on his style would be great. Thanks. Keep up the good work
I love the alternate versions of SNS and 3 Steps and Mr Breeze from OMFTR they are way better than the ones that were on the record, they are just nasty good!
JJ Cale, Gary Rossington, and TOM SAGUTO !!!!! Smoke it Tom !!! 🎸 🔥 UR on fire !!! 👍✌️😎 PS - stupid Auto-Screw up. Sorry Tom, corrected & Merry Christmas 🎄🎸✌️
You would be surprised that gary played most of them and it was between him and Allen even in workin for MCA i thought the intro was played by Ed King and then i found out that it was Gary
Dude, you are exploring some of the BEST ever played. And the 3 guitars is SO important to their sound!
Gary Rossington is smiling looking down on you Tom cause he knows there is one man atleast trying to keep it exactly as he played it himself!!! Love the videos man keep them coming!!

Tom, you just keep getting better & better!
I'm glad you're listening so closely to this music, cuz SOMEONE needs to point these things out!

My favorite Rossington solo....but my ears REALLY perked up on that song when I heard Ed's fills on that strat.
When these already cool sounding solos are broken down and explained, it shows how complex and stylish they really are. Thanks!

Yes absolutely he was a great guitar player for sure.
This song (call be the breeze) is full of sneaky in every part lol. Piano included. Loving your videos by the way!
I spoke with Gene Odom last week. Love the guitar stories of Allen Collins and Gary Rossington.
You have singlehandedly rekindled my love of Skynyrd!!!
Dude you make those trills look so effortless. Great video as always
It’s so cool to see someone else appreciate Gary’s phrasing as much as I do
Killer analysis,Hombre. Wondering-- The solo trill...was he doing that before meeting Steve Gaines? Must go back and listen. Salute,Tom
