  • Hopefully this video will help you decide if you can get away with using cheeper clamps than you get from the big box store. Always consider how much you will need them and what kind of projects you will be using them on. Most importantly don’t buy a tool unless you absolutely need it.

I was enjoying the video until the end when the words of blasphemy came out of your mouth. "dont buy tools unless you really need them?" How dare you? HAHAHAHA! Great review. I expected you would choose Irwin but now I need to look into Harbor Freight.

I must say, they probably make a better quality clamp but who can pay that kinda money for a clamp to just hang on the wall. Lol. And as for buying tools, that’s to help other people. I ADMIT I have a small problem ,

I use some of the HF clamps and like you said, for light duty they have worked fine! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family Jordan!

Thanks a lot tony. Yea typically you don’t have to put that much pressure on them at least for a glue up. Thanks for watching and merry Christmas to your family also

Harbor Freight gets a lot of criticism but, for the price point, they have a lot of tools that are pretty good.

I have to agree they have some hidden Gems but I approach some of my purchases with caution. I gotta say these clamps are not to bad though. Thanks for watching chuck

@@Jordanwoodworking yeah, after reading a lot of reviews, I broke down and bought the Vulcan OmniPro 220 welder from Harbor Freight. We’ll see how it goes

At some point I would like to get one as room permits. That may be a bit though.

Speaking of comparing HF and Irwin, I'm looking into Forstner bits and the HF warrior versus Irwin Marples are in my mind right now. I have never used them so I don't know if I am worthy of buying Diablo / Freud.

I’ve never used either one also but I’ve got a complete set of porter cable that has served me well. Sometimes you can find some hidden gems at HF. I would like to know your opinion if you try them. Thanks for watching

I don't know if you have them where you are but, where I am, we a have a store called Rural King that has some pretty decent clamps actually. Very similar to Harbor Freight in price and quality in my opinion. I've noticed as I have gotten older that being tied to a name brand of something, isn't always the best practice. A lot of times new companies will come along and put a lot of effort forth in their early models of something so that they can make a good name for themselves and then they tend to drop down in quality as the years go on. I hear a lot of people talk badly about Harbor Freight too and while I wouldn't purchase a really big ticket item from there, like a planer, I have gotten plenty of supplemental tools and materials there and can't really say that I've had any bad experiences with them. While having a dull chipped blade can slow you down, I prescribe to the saying, "The craftsman makes the tool, the tool doesn't make the craftsman." Another great video Jordan! Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Your exactly right sticking to one particular brand doesn’t always work and I’m not committed to one particular brand even though Bosch is my favorite. I’ve just got a 12” disc sander from HF and I’m curious to see how it’s going to hold up. Thanks for watching and merry Christmas

Can you not just swap the end piece over to the other side instead of knocking out the pin to flip the handle?
