This Bacon peace is truly remarkable. As with all Bacon works one can just feel animalistic energy escaping from the canvas

That first Bacon painting confirms what the noted Art Critic and close friend John Richardson’s observation of Bacon. ‘The problem with Francis is that he couldn’t draw’. Not to say he wasn’t a great figurative artist. Hands and feet were always his weak points. The shoes look awkward, and he gets away with the hands by making them into fists. All good. My comments won’t affect the price don’t worry luvvies.

I cannot look at that cloud painting by Richter without seeing a cat head in the foreground being kissed on the cheek by a rat. Doesn't anyone ever notice that?
