Ensure moderate alcohol intake? This implies we should drink alcohol?
@@Sh0n0 Alcohol people are always in denial, they don't want to consider alcohol a drug.
Number #5 should be, don't drug yourself with alcohol.

It's not about the ingredients, its about our absorption of the processed foods. Wow! This is mind opening. Bonding created by dinning at the table with friends boost our body & mental heath . Another wow. I learned!

About the psychedelics….there’s a caveat to this but I’ve briefly known three people who regularly did them and honestly, all three were extremely narcissistic and thought they had divine wisdom about everything. They would become extremely agitated if anyone disagreed with their opinions. They also had very poor social relationships because I think they thought normal humans who hadn’t had their experiences didn’t know anything and they couldn’t relate to them. The caveat is that I didn’t know them before they had done psychedelics for many years, so I can’t say if they were narcissistic to begin with. I don’t have a baseline to decide if they were more stable or less before the psychedelics. In any case, I wasn’t around them long before realizing I didn’t want to be.
Helpful information.. Thank you so much. I have a question, Why are there 3 cups on the table? 🤔
Oh that's a cup of sugar.
Love Michael, he's a good read! Wish he would have expanded on the erythritol comment. I think he's referring to a recent flawed, sketchy study. Can't say that and not clarify
Supposedly it causes strokes. You can Google it because for a couple of weeks there were tons of news stories--whether or not it was a well run legit study or not, I do not know.
Your videos help me get through difficulties in life.
I appreciate you 🧡🙏🏽 Many of the lessons in The Greatness Mindset came directly from my 1,400+ episodes of The School of Greatness. That’s why I’m SO excited for you to listen to the condensed version of all those conversations with this new audiobook.

Lewis Howes is Ace.❤😊
Imagine that, spending "40 billion dollars " a year to get people to eat this garbage they call ""food "! Unbelievable! Thanks for the broadcast, knowledge is definitely power!
And people fall for it. Then get diseases that doctors can only treat not cure. Sad
It's crazy how some of the foods we think are healthy are actually harmful in the long run.
Advertising can convince us to eat good tasting unhealthy foods.

The Native American diet consists of mostly meats. I'm looking at stuy after study about carnivore diet and I mainly eat meat. Some fruits and low carb veggies and my cholesterol levels got better. Others are looking at carnivore as the only way to go. Makes sense to me
Hello Lewis. Is it possible to have together in the same interview Michael Polan & Glucose Goddess, Jessie Inchauspe. Thank you!!!
Do you think the acidotic milieu that Cancer creates in how it highjacks body metabolism causes depression, anxiety and sleep disturbances?
Interesting 🤔
Whats in it can'tmatter much when they chemicaly totaly reform it. They add stuff in the proces to that they laterin the proces remove, but it is crazy, you seldom do that at home 😃
Below is a detailed essay that delves into the key points discussed in the RUclips video featuring Michael Pollan and Lewis Howes on the topic of foods to avoid for a longer, healthier life.
### The Illusion of Healthy Eating: Unveiling the Truth with Michael Pollan and Lewis Howes
#### The Rise of Ultra-Processed Foods
In an era where convenience is king, ultra-processed foods have taken center stage in the American diet, making up a staggering 60% of total food consumption. These foods are not just processed but are "ultra-processed," a term that signifies the addition of numerous artificial ingredients, emulsifiers, and preservatives. Michael Pollan warns that while these foods often carry health claims, they are far from beneficial for our well-being. Take, for example, the Impossible Burger and the Beyond Burger. Marketed as "plant-based," these products contain a myriad of artificial ingredients, some of which have never been part of the human diet. The term "plant-based" may sound healthy, but it's often a smokescreen for a product that is anything but.
#### The Sugar Epidemic
Sugar is another culprit that has insidiously infiltrated our food supply. It's not just in candies and desserts but also in places you wouldn't expect, like ketchup and bread. Pollan points out that the food industry has discovered the magic formula: adding sugar to anything boosts its sales. This is because humans are hardwired to like sweetness, an evolutionary trait that once signaled the presence of nutritious, energy-rich food. However, in today's context, this preference has been exploited, leading to excessive sugar consumption that is detrimental to our health.
#### The Deception of Artificial Sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners, often used in diet sodas and zero-calorie drinks, present another layer of complexity. While they promise the sweetness of sugar without the calories, they can actually sabotage weight loss efforts. When your body senses sweetness without the accompanying caloric intake, it triggers cravings for sugary foods, negating the purpose of consuming a zero-calorie drink in the first place.
#### The Importance of Real Food
Pollan advocates for a return to real, whole foods-foods that your grandmother would recognize and that contain ingredients a third-grader can pronounce. His mantra is simple yet profound: "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants." This approach not only aligns with our evolutionary dietary patterns but also supports a diverse and healthy gut microbiome, which is emerging as a critical factor in overall health.
#### The Microbiome and Its Role in Health
Recent research has shed light on the importance of a healthy gut microbiome, comprised of approximately 10 trillion microbes. These microbes play a crucial role in our health, from nutrient absorption to immune function. A diet rich in plant-based foods provides the fiber these microbes need to thrive, further emphasizing the importance of shifting away from ultra-processed foods and towards a more natural diet.
In conclusion, the conversation between Michael Pollan and Lewis Howes serves as a wake-up call, urging us to scrutinize our dietary choices. Ultra-processed foods, excessive sugar, and artificial sweeteners may offer convenience and momentary pleasure, but they come at a steep cost to our long-term health. By returning to a diet rich in real, whole foods, we can align our eating habits with our biological needs, fostering not just longevity but also a higher quality of life.
How do you wish good health and long life?
May you have good health and joy throughout your life. I hope that you remain healthy as long as you live. I wish you a healthy and happy life for as long as you live. May your life journey be full of accurate divine health and lead to happiness forever.
Energy drink?
I can't say for my Canadian market ads, but US drug ads on TV are good. They tell you of all the potential side effects. If it wasn't for the ads, would as many people be as informed about the side effects?
It you actually into this topic you quickly realize that it is an order of magnitude more complicated than you thought and also that Michael Pollen should stick to psychedelics.

🤣🤣 “I wish I had that disease” - Lew
And then some doctors say plants are the worst and you must live on animal proteins
Care to give some references?
Yes, Immposible burger etc., does have 20+ ingredients, and how many ingredients go into raising a cow including their ingredient make-up?
I was supposed to see a show with pollan but he cancelled, and we were never told why he cancelled.
I get much from Pollard, but one thing I think we are underestimating greatly is the importance of good fats and animal protein. Plants have many toxins and anti nutrients. I learned this the hard way and went towards keto and animal based eating and it changed my health for the positive. Spinach and almonds almost killed me.
What's the secret to a long life?
So how to live longer, live longer? The researchers found that never smoking, maintaining a healthy weight, engaging in regular physical activity, eating a healthy diet and limiting alcohol intake were "keys" to living a longer, healthier life
eat veggies fruits veggies delite sandwiches Indian banana leaf rice unprocessed food sushi
Michael Pollan may be more harmonious because he is getting older. Healthy eating and moving helps...but it's called getting older...nature has this...just say'in....
he reminds me of a turtle maybe a Nijia turtle ?
I eat imagination. I don't think it matters what the worst foods are for me to eat.
What are the top foods You should not ear???
Sugar, starch, fructose
It’s easy but it’s hard…of course because we Americans are greedy and have no heart for the people.
How old is this guy?
68

For a fat ass, he is most likely older than you and much healthier!

The biggest difference between plant-based and meat-based UPFs is ethical rather than nutritional. The meat-based ones are almost always made from animals fattened on feedlots or otherwise raised on intensive feeding operations. At least the plant-based UPFs don't demand the routine abuse and suffering of our fellow sentient beings for their existence.
I see this term used a lot. Plant-based. Plant-based is not vegetarian or vegan. I always see Novak Djokovic listed as vegan/plant-based, but he eats fish and white meat. It's either plant or it's not.
That was a bad breakfast Lewis, try gluten free toasted bread, avocado, cucumber, home made pickled cabbage & poached egg. Sound awful but absolutely awesome excellent for gut health.

Really wish Dr. Pollan would write the book on How Veganism Could Save the World. It won't, but it could.
you're telling us to not eat sugar but when asked what's better soda with or without sugar and you said sugar drink. Your answer should have been no soda again only on special occasions
What? He is the same guy who said all vegetables we eat are artificial , man made and clonated!!! We dont need plants AT ALL! We are meant to eat meat! Healthy carnivore here, lean and healthy, lost 60 pounds , excelent lab test, 10 years no plants, I poop every morning without any fibef!
Modern fruit & vegetables did not exist even 100-200 years ago. Our ancestors ATE MEAT 🍖🥓
You just lost me at climate change by
Heads up, rant alert! Even if you don't believe humans caused recent weather changes, do you still:
- want people to live next to noisy exhaust covered freeways with increased lung cancers among non-smokers,
or freeways with quiet clean EVs?
- want people to live next to a coal powered electricity plant supplied from destroyed mountain top environments
or next to a renewables power station?
- want people to live downwind and downstream from gigantic beef and pork feedlots using plants grown with toxic chemicals, or small-scale organic feedlots and farms?
- want people to drink water and swim in oceans filled with endocrine disrupting oil, chemicals and plastic byproducts from
tankers, factories, fracking and other industries, or clean fresh water?
- want to witness an animal choking to death on a plastic bag, or it's babies deformed by birth defects from toxic runoff, no longer have forests and trails to walk in due to slash and burn farming, or enjoy nature as it was intended?
- want your daughter to work in a de facto slave labor garment factory powered by coal in order to fill jet airplanes with tons of cardboard boxes containing pointless fast fashion that's tossed out in a few months, or try to extend the life of clothes and reuse materials?
- want me to go on and on, or have me shut up already!
I hope you can look past the myth and lies of climate change and recognize that most all the underlying changes proposed by climate activists are good for you, your family and the planet.
Get lost then
@@amandapereyra7902You sound so compassionate and savior of earth. You’re just a BS communal narcissist.
Thanks for saving my time
They couldn't support the term global warming. So they generalized it to "climate change"

Sorry, Mr. Lewis, you’ve lost me
