He definitely hasn't stopped loving her. Just look at his face when his father told him he could marry Elizabeth. I don't know how things will develop in season 2, but he will definitely feel guilty before Amy.
It is 100% Fact & Truth that Robert Dudley the Earl of Leicester loved Elizabeth I for all of his life. Queen Elizabeth I felt the same way about him. Elizabeth kept his last letter he wrote to her and a miniature portrait of him in her jewellery box.
In the National Portrait Gallery Elizabeth I and Robert Dudley portraits hand side by side next to each other. They loved each other and everyone knew. Hence why Mary Queen of Scots (silly women) turned down Elizabeth's I offer of marrying The Duke of Leicester Robery Dudley had she married him she would not have died.
I don't recommend the movie "Elizabeth" as it portrays Robert Dudley in the second half of the movie. It's ridiculous how that movie distorts their relationship. Elizabeth wasn't shocked to discover Robert was married to Amy Robsart and whatever he did, Elizabeth forgave him. He certainly NEVER betrayed her politically or aided her enemies. The sequel is even worse since Robert Dudley isn't in it at all. He played a major role in preparing for the Spanish Armada and was by her side at Tilbury. John Dudley wasn't beheaded until Mary became queen. This show doesn't get that far in the storyline, so he is very much alive.
Excuse me? Did they resurrect Rober Dudley’s father from the fricking grave? Bc he was BEHEADED along with his brother Guilford. Robert Dudley & Elizabeth, it’s thought, close, while both imprisoned in the Tower AFTER these events. Jesus wtf. And heat least 50/50, but probably yes/def had his first wife pushed down those stairs. Ridiculous. Stick to Cate Blanchett & Joseph Fiennes And Tom Hardy in the pbs version. Wow. This guy isn’t even hot or actually a good actor. Why?! And the story? You can’t improve upon perfection. Ridiculous
