  • This video describes how to use the Andromeda Research Labs Automotive Locksmith Kit#1 to read or pull Chrysler immobilizer PIN codes from SKIM and SCREEM modules. Step by step directions are provided which show how to access the internal eeprom, read the data and locate and determine the PIN. The video shows how to translate the encrypted SKIM hex codes to the required decimal PIN. The video also shows how to clone a damaged SCREEM module to one from a salvage vehicle. The same procedure can be used to clone any eeprom based vehicle module. The video describes three procedures, the SKIM is first, then the SKREEM at 20:00 the the SKREEM clone at 39:25.

    The SKIM module holds the PIN code or PIN number in the Chrysler 300, Conclord and Sebring,.
    The SKIM module holds the PIN code or PIN number in the Dodge Intrepid and Stratus plus the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
    The SKREEM module holds the PIN code or PIN number in the Chrysler Pacifica plus the Town and Country.
    The SKREEM module holds the PIN code or PIN number in the Dodge Caravan and Jeep Liberty.

    I look forward to purchasing your line of product. Seems very straight forward. Allows you do go a step further then EZ flashers but still seems easy enough for beginners to get started into eeprom.

    Now after getting this pin number, I would need some type of computer controlled key cutter to cut a key right ? or could I use the information off the original part to switch the pin number to the key I already have with the vehicle ? I could also see this helpful if I had a lost all keys. This way I would know how to cut a key to fit the ignition. Am I on the right way of thinking here or are I way off on this ? That last clip in this video was amazingly simple to do. this clone thing could be a very lucrative way to make money, WOW !

      The PIN is used in conjunction with a transponder programmer to program the key. If you have a lost key situation you would need to cut a bladed key. I don't know of a tool which allows you to take a PIN number and reprogram a used key.

      The key cut code is different info than the 4 digit PIN code. It is tied to your vin and would look like M1234. The dealer can look it up on dealer connect typically where you prove you own the vehicle with your id and registration. The M Code can be translated to 8 cuts for various key cutting tools. The M code can also be fed into a computer controlled cutter that SOME dealers have and it will cut it as factory without the sharp corners.
      Reusing keys is possible only when you’re replacing the skim module with the DRB3 using skim replaced routine. The vin, secret key and PIN code are written to the virgin skim, then you program the original keys and they’ll work. That’s because the chip in the key is written once. It can’t be written again. The saved data for the old keys resides in the pcm as a backup and that’s also where the new skim will get its data from.

    I bought the equipment from you and my question is after I read the Eprom from the skim how to write a new key into eprom

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826
      @andromedaresearchlabs7826  Год назад

      You use a transponder programmer to create a new file and keys which you then program back into the eeprom. This is called a conversion. If the transponder programmer can make new keys from the original file you do not have to write a file back. This is called a clone out. If you have a hex key sequence you wish to program you can use the system write command.

    What is the solution for newer SKIM IMMOBILIZER TYPE 2 & 3 like mc68hc08az32 that store the PIN in MCU and not EEPROM? Is UPA the only way?

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826
      @andromedaresearchlabs7826  2 года назад +1

      The ACOM2 adapter allows the system to access the eeprom internal to the MC68HC08AZ32.
      Here is a video which shows the ACOM2 setup. It was intended for the Toyota Delco ECU but applies to any Motorola micro with an ASYNC interface.

    Hi I just have one question before I purchase, in the locksmith mode is the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2005 and 2013 in the listing?

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826
      @andromedaresearchlabs7826  Год назад

      The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee does not use an 8 pin eeprom in the immobilizer. It uses an 80pin QFP microcontroller. We only support modules to which the customer can easily attach using a probe set or clip. I do not know which part is used in the 2013 vehicle.

    So as most of the skim manufacturing are discontinued, could a locksmith transfer data from defected module to another used one from junkyard? Thank you!

      Yes, module cloning is a simple, straight forward procedure. We have some ECU cloning videos on our channel but the procedure is the same regardless of the module.

    Oh, May I point out that your CHRHX2PN table at 18:46 has two entries for pin value 75, one for 69H and one for 68H. How can this be? Also, there appears to be no hex value that produces pin value 77.

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826
      @andromedaresearchlabs7826  2 года назад

      The values in the table originated in a document which supposedly came from a Chrysler source. We cross referenced the table entries to a document we found on the internet and they matched. I can't explain why there is the same entry for two different values just as I can't explain why there is no code for 77. We didn't create the translation; we only provide it with our product. Also, no one has ever reported an issue with a translated PIN.

    To search for the pin to look for 1F 00 _ _ then its reserved ?

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826
      @andromedaresearchlabs7826  2 года назад

      For 95040 parts the PIN follows the 1F 00 sequence. For 96080 parts sometimes if there is no 1F 00 then the PIN is found at addresses 175 and 1176. I'm not sure what you meant by "reserved".

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826

      The PIN can be changed. Just edit the values and reprogram. An automotive locksmith needs the vehicle PIN in order to make a replacement key so there is no reason to change the PIN unless the immobilizer has failed and you want to change the PIN in a used replacement.

    • @LayZeeDawg
      @LayZeeDawg Год назад

      @@andromedaresearchlabs7826 haven't played around to this point yet but I'm assuming the keys are locked to the Skreem/SKIM module. Once the pin is changed the original transponder keys from the old skim won't work with the replacement but the keys that have been programmed to the replacement skim should work.
      (did that make sense at all?)

    • @andromedaresearchlabs7826

      @@LayZeeDawg If you install a used immobilizer and make keys based on that PIN you may still have a problem because the VIN in the replacement will not match the vehicle. If you have a defective immobilizer just clone the eeprom.
