This 79 y.o. flyfisher still learning. Needed knot for fishing AND for loop for Prusik. Excellent Video: slow pace; good description of "landmarks" to moves ! Articulate !!! THX.
Thank you so much. I was trying to do this from some google images and I was unable to do it. You have such a knack for explaining this slowly, and considering this is the kind of thing that is really really important to get right - thank you so much.
This video made this so much easier. I gave up and learned some other knots and found this cause i wanted to know this without forgetting... Can do it with my eyes closed now :D
This really helped me explain and demonstrate how to tie the knot in a manner that my 4 year old niece understood and learned from. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for teaching her stuff like this at such an early age... but I heard that last weekend she hog-tied her almost 2 year old brother... so I must be doing SOMETHING right!
It is never too early to teach kids stuff. As long as you do it playfully and not make it a pain for them. Especially manual activities, kids love them and it really helps develop bonds and passions. Future engineers may simply be kids who messed around with wrenches with their dad or mom
Not true at all. Roll it with your foot; hand; finger ( depending on the size of the rope/cord/sling) against a smooth surface; pull apart; and dismantle.
Nice, but I am left handed so this is upside down and backward. Basically impossible to follow. I have to reverse engineer the whole thing and recreate it.

Articulate !!! THX.
I tried learning this from an “animated knot” style video and it was about ten times faster than this. You are my new go-to! Cheers!
This is leaps and bounds better than the REI video, thanks man
Agreed, just came from the rei vid after 20 secs
I was gonna say the exact same thing
True that
ya fo real
This is the only one of these Fisherman's Knot videos that worked for me. Thank you so much!
Agreed, the above is the best, clearest description of the few I've looked at for double fisherman's knot (some of which were hopeless!)
🌟 I watch this video from time to time. It's on my top 5
"Up through and under that X" was key to my understanding of this one! Thank you!

Thank you for refreshing my memory with this great bend. One of the best!
thank you so much!! that was incredibly informative, well paced, and pleasantly narrated
Thank you! I have struggled with this knot specifically... this is the first video that has successfully taught me!
Watching multiple other videos on how to do this knot, this is the best, simplest video I've found. THANK YOU! First try
Really good tutorial, this knot seemed impossible before this haha
Agree with other posts, without your slow steps I couldn't follow other tutorials. It was a big help!
Thank you for this video!! Thank you for slowing it down and making it very user-friendly. Was having trouble with other images/videos.
This the best demonstration I've seen for this knot. Thanks.
Thankyou! Way slower, clearer and therefore more useful.. than all the other fancy/animated videos i found on YT so far.
Subscribed :)
Good images and slowly demonstrating! Best videos among others.

This is awesome. Keep it going! Good luck 🤞🏾:D

Thank you so much! My dog's leash broke on our walk today, but thanks to your clear video I was able to fix it!
You are the best at teaching. Thank you Sir.
Great vid. I watched a few but yours is easiest to understand 👏
Thank you made some nice tool lanyards for cheap 👍🏼

Very well explained Sir .
Used this to fix a broken guitar string, thanks!
Which knot did you tie
Great tutorial! Nice and simple!
Best video ever. Thank you so much
Thank you for slowing down
Thanks. Came here to make sure and that's a pretty cool way to tie it. Different than I learned but cool nonetheless.

Great video. 👍👍👍
Indeed two feet long loop how long I need extra rope to make this loop
This was very helpful
Dobra robota właśnie tego szukałem
Thank you so much this got me the climbing meritbadge
DJ Hulk _Yeet lol I’m doing my climbing merit badge on Thursday
Good video mate
For the first loop does it have to go around in clockwise manner? because if I do it anticlockwise it works as well.
Looks like a stopper knot. Or it has 2 names ?
stopper is a half double fisherman's
Thanks Terence
Thank you sir!
Ive done this over and over i cant get the same result. Also i bought 8m cord.
So if I tied this in two ends of the same rope to make a loop, would that be a suitable sling/runner for setting up an anchor?
Yes. All cordelette anchors are made using this knot.
@@JasonMcLamb Thanks for the reply. Good to hear this is a suitable knot.
Thanks!
Thanks it's perfect
Tagert! (Thanks, great vid!)
This is the strongest ways to join two rope
(2:30) To me, it looks like a constrictor knot that's applied to a rope. :O
Thanks
It's like tying g a constrictor arou d a rope
nice
perfect
I like how slow you speak, the other one i tried to watch was too fast paced and stressed me out!
Thank you! Now my prisoner can’t escape!
thanks alot
The prestige brought me here
God why does this have to be so complicated with paracord
I'd like to see an easier way.
the. knot that once you tie and load it’s never coming out
Not true at all. Roll it with your foot; hand; finger ( depending on the size of the rope/cord/sling) against a smooth surface; pull apart; and dismantle.
@@craigbritton1089 oh good to know thank
i love you
this is a double overhand bend, not the slang "fisherman" unless you are wearing waders standing in a trout stream. It is NOT a KNOT it is a bend.
Just show the process, no need to name the shape you think it creates.
You lost me at 2:00
Could have just said fish
that knot was too easy to untie :(
Go team Jesus :)
Nice, but I am left handed so this is upside down and backward. Basically impossible to follow. I have to reverse engineer the whole thing and recreate it.
Sorry but this did nothing for me I don't know why
jesus fish... blah jesus freaxs
