The antenna seems to be very finnicky, which makes the process difficult. There is a "learn" button in the upper left corner of the circuit board on the motor, press that and an LED should turn on. With the remote, keep pressing any button whilst moving it around, trying different angles etc. After about a minute the LED on the board will turn off. If you are lucky, it will flash right before turning off indicating that it paired successfully. It's hard to tell if the remote is actually properly paired because it doesn't work half the time, so again, press the open button over and over while moving the remote to different angles, then the gate should eventually open. If it doesn't, then try pairing again and rinse and repeat until it works, or until you get pissed and break the remote.
Thank you for taking the time to go over this gate opener. Have you installed the infrared sensors? I installed my sensors following the instructions on the annex document that came with the unit. However, my sensor is closing the gate instead of opening it. Do you happen to have any ideas on how to reverse this function?
not yet my gate is too long and moves around too much. I need to convert to an angle iron track - now they have these rubber wheels that go their own way.. I tried the magnetic ones they worked a few times but not well enough.
Not sure if this is still required but I just installed one of these gate controller, all though it looks slightly different but essentially the same. Anyway there is a selector switch on the gate controller to reverse it operation. I had the same problem and that fixed it. The selector switch on mine was hidden under a little PCB but easy to change over when located

Yes. There are 4 switches on the motor circuit board in a red casing, labeled 1 thru 4. Switches 2 and 3 control the auto-close, and to disable it you turn off both of them (bottom position is off). Here's the full config from the manual: 2-OFF, 3-OFF = Disable autoclose; 2-ON, 3-OFF = autoclose after 5 sec; 2-OFF, 3-ON = autoclose after 10 sec; 2-ON, 3-ON = autoclose after 20 sec. As for the other switches, 1 controls whether to enable soft startup, not sure what it does. Switch 4 is to enable use of the resistance control knob located on the board, which essentially controls how much torque the motor applies.

Where do you mount sensors? Just on the gate posts to create a beam?
