Dell needs to acknowledge that the Touchpad/Trackpad issues on the Inspiron 7610 and 7620 are design failures, there have been endless people who have had the pads replaced, software updates, reinstalled Windows, BIOS adjustments, to absolutely no avail. I bought a 7620 brand new for work and I wanted to throw it in the bin after a matter of weeks, they are the absolute worst now and a far cry from the Dell machines of old. Try harder, Dell...
for me support assist itself is not launching.. it keeps loading saying "Depending on your PC , this can take a few mins". This is bad, I spent 1600 AUD for this laptop.not worth it.
All of this would be well and good, I guess, but it doesn't tell me how to sign in with no cursor!! I can turn the PC on but then I can't do anything! Now I know I'm not a tech savvy person, but how do you got the sign in square without a cursor? SMH
Second one worked for me just searched for touchpad and I found it went disabled by itself and the fn f5 couldnt work cuz of this so I just enabled bottons and touchpad again and works fine now
Its absolutely disappointing how my new laptop have been faulty. The touchpad of this dell laptop has stopped working for many times and now even restarting or any other options are not working and is troubling my work.
The only reliable method of fixing it (for like 5 minutes then it stops working again), is tilting the screen like a tablet, then back to a normal laptop. Insanely dumb design how hard is it to put like a physical toggle switch for tablet/laptop mode. But no instead they make it "automatic" and have no good way to manually toggle.
i have gone through these steps many, many times and still the touchpad on my DELL laptop fails to work 4 or 5 times every day meaning I have to restart 4 or 5 times every fucking day...do you think this is acceptable DELL??...considering how much you charge for your computers...how about you fix the issue once and for all?

what a pile of cobblers. dell trackpad have a well known issue across the range. its a problem with capacative sensing. its a hardware fault imo and cant be fixed without replacement. dell have ignored the problem over many years. i will not buy another dell product period

The fault is in the hardware itself. Software change ain't gonna do anything. Never buying dell products again that's it for me

touchpad setting not showing
It does not help to correct the touchpad cursor which starts to move erratically regularly. Restarting computer helps neither.

When I clicked on this "up arrow" icon and above this "up arrow" icon, the small window opened.
