I would go for a house. U can do a lot of things when u have a backyard. U can have a pool or playground for future kids or garden where u can relax and have a cup of coffee
Advantage of condo is the security, generator in case of power outages, amenities and flood free. Disadvantages, expensive monthly dues, lack of outdoor space and you have to buy a parking slot for each car (depends on how many cars you have). And finally your electric bill is higher since your ac will be on most of the time compared to a house you just open the windows. Try McKinley hills of Megaworld.

Sure it is a lot of work, (mura lang naman magpamow ng lawn sa Pinas) but it’s worth it coz you have a lot of freedom. With condo, you are only technically paying the right to live but not really owning the space per say. Condo is actually more of an eco-friendly choice. Just imagine the fuel saved from a garbage truck going around a sprawling village versus picking it up from a garbage room of a building. I'd personally push for vertical development over a sprawling one. Condos also allow living within walkable distance to the mall, parks, & offices. If you buy a house and lot in the nearby provinces and your work is in MM you will need to travel by car everyday which is not good for the environment.

@ri jung hyuk please do not patronize me. decision making is part of growing up but having a house doesn’t necessarily mean maturity. it’s privilege. some people arent as privileged to afford owning a house but are still mature enough for big decision making. All I’m getting at is that having a house does not necessarily measure someone’s maturity level. Sometimes privilege takes part in that and the opportunities one has been given. To say that having a house is for mature people negates the fact and invalidates other people who are “mature” but cannot afford having a house. Especially in this economy.
I'm for team House. A building's structural integrity is only good for 50 years. At least when you buy a house, the lot it stands on is also yours. if you're still alive after 50 years, your kid's can demolish the house and build a newer and much stronger house.
been in the industry for more than 20 years and had been involved in high rise/high end projects. i do always recommend buying a house - the structure deteriorates/depreciates but not the land. in condos, what does your unit costs after 10/15 years? unless you are into buying and selling wherein you can still gain in a few years (5?) after buying it :)
I live in BGC for more than 10 years now and I think I know exactly where this building is. I won't invest in that apartment if I were you, Wil. Your mom is right, look around some more.
I think purchasing a house & lot is better po. For the house, you can customize it the way you want, no restrictions, you are your own master unlike condos & the land appreciates in value over time as well so I think win-win.

Buulding and maintaining a house is difficult but its worth it. Just because its hard doesnt mean you should go the easy way which is a lesser more expensive condo. Hi Will! Finally a vlog! Though it’s not from you main channel. But back on topic. This penthouse...for 70mln pesos= approx: 1.2mln EUROS....the interior is like made out of IKEA returned items. No hate though. Just to say that for that amount of money i’d expect first class finishing. Whether it is in Manila or here in Rotterdam/the Netherlands. Pricing and property is not quite on the same page. Regardless the view over the golfccourse.
Sana lupa't bahay na lang...condo unit has other things to pay like condo dues, building tax aside from property tax...and there is no land title only the unit title, just saying as our experience. But you still the one who will decide for yourself. Take care of yourself Will!
It's more practical to stay in a hotel suite than maintaining a house and staff. There's 24 hrs house help. Several kitchen. Business center. Concierge. Pool. Spa. Gym. Bar for a quick nightcap and etc.

If want maintain all of that, the expense and time it take not to mention the cost. And a condo like that has a balcony a garden area and pool, but you don't have pay for the upkeep. It's included with condo fees.

You can have both, Wil. One is for investment and the other one is for "convenience". Though you can't maintain the house as much as you can maintain a condo, surely the price of the lot will appreciate big time in the future. Another thing to consider is the natural disaster like the earthquake. If you live in the upper level, the penthouse, it's much easier to escape and go to a safer place if you're living in a low rise house. I know nowadays, most buildings are built as "earthquake proof" but of course you'll never know when will the "big one" happen. You'll need to wait for a reconstruction maybe if the building is greatly damaged.

In the Philippines where lots are still relatively cheaper, you can buy a house double the size of that condo with almost half the prize.

Sobra naman kasi ang mahal ng price nasa Pinas na nga eh. Kaya nga nakakaloka dahil ang dami pa ring mga super pulibe na walang matirahan ng matinong bahay sa greatetr Manila. The pyramid is still unclimbable sa Pinas! You may have the view of supposedly the "nice green" sa Ortigas area, pero tumingin ka sa kabila, puro squatter naman. I wonder how the plumbing is in a building that tall? I would rather buy something in the province with property instead of just getting an air lot! Highway robbery ang presyo ng mga condo na yan!!! No fresh air available!
50-90M is already a huge house
I kind of understand where mudra is coming from. House maintenance is expensive and time consuming.
There are pros and cons.
With condos it's not a forever home but it's a lot more convenient. Security, accessibility, common area maintenance.
At the end of the day, you have to determine what's best for you, your lifestyle and budget.
Negative sides of these condos: 1. it will deteriorate eventually and so goes the price of it. 2. Wala kang lupa to call your own

Prime locations such as MAKATI, BGC or the biggest cities in the Philippines doesnt reduce prices instead double its prices as time goes by and if the ownership is perpetual u can say u are entitled as well on the land if it is built as a shareholder when the time comes (like 50 yrs) if the owners decide to rebuild or resell the land depending on the size of ur unit. Next time as an unsolicited advice, please research or ask a professional before dropping words that arent true. and what WIL's mom is right for saying that condo is the easiest to maintain and to add more it is more secure and safest to have plus it has amenities and convenient with everything.

Hi Will! Finally a vlog! Though it’s not from you main channel. But back on topic. This penthouse...for 70mln pesos= approx: 1.2mln EUROS....the interior is like made out of IKEA returned items. No hate though. Just to say that for that amount of money i’d expect first class finishing. Whether it is in Manila or here in Rotterdam/the Netherlands. Pricing and property is not quite on the same page. Regardless the view over the golfccourse.

Sana lupa't bahay na lang...condo unit has other things to pay like condo dues, building tax aside from property tax...and there is no land title only the unit title, just saying as our experience. But you still the one who will decide for yourself.

It's more practical to stay in a hotel suite than maintaining a house and staff. There's 24 hrs house help. Several kitchen. Business center. Concierge. Pool. Spa. Gym. Bar for a quick nightcap and etc.

I’m an architect and I don’t actually agree with austria’s estimation. In my estimation it would probably cost not less than 100m.
@@taekook2985 I don't know lang ha, just my assumption. My uncle built a resthouse/ resort in a mountain side tagaytay for just 150 m including the land aquisition. I think the 75m estimation of austria is right. Maybe Vice's house can reach 100 m if it is located in one of the premiere subdivisions like ayala alabang, green meadows and other A- to A subdivisions...

If want maintain all of that, the expense and time it take not to mention the cost. And a condo like that has a balcony a garden area and pool, but you don't have pay for the upkeep. It's included with condo fees.

People think that marble floors are nice but no they’re not. prone sila sa scratches etc and mahirap imaintain. ung mga kwarto ang old ng desings . un lang nag pamahal ung view maganda. I wonder san ginastos ng first owners ung 15 million na nag pa mahal sa condo.

You can have both, Wil. One is for investment and the other one is for "convenience". Though you can't maintain the house as much as you can maintain a condo, surely the price of the lot will appreciate big time in the future. Another thing to consider is the natural disaster like the earthquake. If you live in the upper level, the penthouse, it's much easier to escape and go to a safer place if you're living in a low rise house. I know nowadays, most buildings are built as "earthquake proof" but of course you'll never know when will the "big one" happen. You'll need to wait for a reconstruction maybe if the building is greatly damaged.
