Thanks for the most honest video about renovating older RV's and campers. I really appreciate the hard work you have shared with us .
I bought a 74 440 in 2020 and was so excited to get it gutted. And that's where I stopped. Decided it time to either get back into or rehome her. Your video inspired me to jump back in and pluck away. I noticed my door seal is leaking and today I'm going to get out and see what I have to do there😮
Thanks so much for sharing. Love the details!
We just bought one to rebuild and live in full time I'm excited for us to start the journey
Good luck! It's not easy
Looks great! Love your counter space. Good choice on bathroom move, very worth it. Thanks for idea on doghouse cover!
Thank you!
💥Wow‼️💥
Are you able to ditch the rigid solar panels and get the ones that lay on top of the roof?
Beautiful work👍👍
The flexible solar panels have a lot of downsides. More expensive, less capacity, less longevity, and less efficiency. They do look good, but these will serve us well for now.
@@madgethetravco3719 That's good to know. I didn't know that. Thanks. Are the floos made outta steel or wood.
@@justthinkin1710 The subfloor of the camper is plywood, the shell is fiberglass. The flooring we put in is vinyl.
@@madgethetravco3719 beautiful motorhome.
The solar panels always look clunky. The bi-facials are really powerful
I think a custom roof rack that contours withband hides the edge of the panels. The flex panels don't last long. Especially in extreme heat.
Wow I’m first to view? I’m honored
Where did you find the air lift kit? I've been looking for ever and they are impossible to locate.
Very nice. How about going for a drive?
Drives just fine. Showed a bit of that in the latter part of the video.
@@madgethetravco3719 Okay. I'll check it out. Impressive renovation. 🙂
How many miles on the engine?
Around 65k
What is your miles per gallon now?
Did you tackle resealing the Windows?
Windows and seals were in good shape when we bought it. Small leaks that were solved by adding some gutters surrounding on the driver's side. Passenger side has the awning which keeps most of the water from ever touching the seals.
Did have to reseal the door, though.
There's a small leak on one of the windows that only shows up very infrequently, can't figure out what causes it. Might lead to a reseal at some point. It's very sporadic and minor, so not a problem ATM.
🤔
Before it was a beautiful time capsule, now it is boring and looks like every other rv remodel. Why buy a piece of history only to destroy it? The charm was in the retro features so well preserved. There are going to be many people who look at your RV and are so excited only to see the inside with disappointment….what a shame.
@@emmas1082 It took you minutes to watch a video and jump to a conclusion and thousands of hours for me to build it so you could judge the work. Well done for both of us. There’s plenty of vintage time capsules out there if you want to buy one yourself and keep it original.
I didn’t jump to a conclusion, I don’t like it. If I had known what you did to it, I wouldn’t have watched it. There is nothing on the interior that says 1973 Travco 270. At least you kept the exterior original… you could have spent countless hours restoring it authentically as opposed to making it look like any other boring modern RV. That’s my opinion
@@emmas1082 you’re welcome to do that yourself if that’s your taste.
